I love DJ Curtin. I remember going to the Barbary Coast every Tuesday when I lived in Las Vegas and listening to the Irish Show Band. Frankie Carrol would always have seats up front for me and my family. I love all these guys. They were so much fun and just a great bunch of guys.

With my thanks to this song, simply cos i remember my father, a Donegal man singing it. I attended a hospital 3 times saying my son had Scarlet Fever, they dismissed me!! But eventually my persistence paid off, he was diagnosed with Scarlet Fever!!
I first heard this song over 35 years ago when I was working at WROL in Boston. The station hosted a hugely popular program on Saturdays called The Irish Hit Parade and this song was a big favorite with the listeners.
I love the Irish music. My mother is from Carrick au Suir, small town in Tipperary. The music is so passionate, full of Irish pride and sad. Erin go braugh!
I was in Carrick au Suir way back in 95 or 96? It was during the Rose of Tralee and it was pissing rain. The water came up quite high. The locals told me it was the worst rain and flooding in over 20 years.
GREAT singer and a nice chap , met him a couple of times very ordinary decent fella , never get any of the bullshit out of him that oozes out of the likes of ROCK or HURLEY , then again doesnt that go with the territory those 2 come from , he sang some powerful songs , i hope he is keeping well , some bloody singer DJ ,
A down to earth man, we met him a few years back, he still knew my mother from their days back in Tralee. Nice man, had the time to come over and talk to her.
D.j curtain could sing Brendan bower off the stage but when they went to Vegas he only got about two songs, on the nights, what a brilliant singer I could listen to his voice anytime 👍☘

DJ Curtin is from Tralee Co. Kerry, he played with the Kerry Blues, then moved to Vegas with Brendan Boyer (I never rated Brendan’s voice). Some other songs that DJ makes a brilliant job of are, Will they remember me, Jacqueline and Almost Persuaded.
We saw DJ Curtin and Mark Lean (Emerald Elvis) at a show a good few years ago, here in County Kerry. My mother knew DJ very well as they were both from Tralee. DJ was very down to earth and came over to her after the show for a chat.
