I never expect famous people to have the same kinds of insecurities the rest of us do. I also have issues with knowing what to say in large groups of people and with posture. I like that he was so open about this and about how it influenced his "outie" character. Although I also think that the way the innies are treated would erode their self-esteem very quickly.
I would love all interviews to be like this. Intelligent, well thought out questions and letting the guest speak freely without any interruptions. Fantastic job, thank you!
at 3:51 - Shooting the show 'all at once' would seem so counter-intuitive to telling this story - and especially hard for the actors who have to find the character at different stages of development. Makes Adam's work in this show all the more impressive.
I loved what he described about the self-loathing; Mark trying to punish himself as well as avoid the grief... and what a universal emotion that is! That must have been so intense to prepare and execute
How has this only had about 2k comments like this show is actually amazing I understand ppl dont like apple tv but 3 bucks for a show on the same level as matrix or any Christopher nolan film lots of conceptual and philosophical ideas to discuss.
I’m so grateful for a long interview about this show, hopefully after the season finale there’s a lot of behind the scenes content bc this show is captivating!
I think the dance moves are like reading, writing, driving. The innies know how to read and write, they just don't remember how they learned to do it. They also seem to know what a computer is, but they don't remember ever using one. So they keep basic skills, they just don't know HOW they know.
My new favorite actor interview channel well done! I love that the dialog with the guests is what its all about, the video quality is not really what is important.(and thank you Adam for changing shot angle lol)
I would think this show would resonate well with actors. Each character they play would be an innie (a consensual innie and that makes it okay). Imagine if Lumon were a movie studio or production company. Come to think of it, I'm willing to bet Mr Rogers was severed.
I have a huge question…. Does Adam wear some sort of face altering piece? Because watching Mark his face does seem a bit unusual and I have this doubt about the veracity of his face. Here I see Adam for the first time and his face looks normal (and very attractive!) which makes me think the makeup department did alter his face a bit.
As I didn’t want my reply to get too long I’m continuing here…. I believe the reason, if I’m correct, the alteration serves the purpose of stressing how everything is a bit skewed in that world (however his face is altered in BOTH the outie and innie). I’m so stumped by this!!! Does anyone see this too? Is the show making me crazy too?? 😜
they change the focal length of the camera lenses between the outies and the innies worlds.. so their faces (and everything else) look different.. I'm sure there are other factors too, but this is a big one.
Also, you're seeing him here over Zoom... it's a low-resolution image (and he could have the face-smoothing feature turned on). The show is lit and shot in a way that reveals all the creases in his face when they want him to look stressed. Some of those creases could even be makeup.
The comment above made me laugh out loud - he's definitely still reintegrating. But also, I've seen similar comments on other interviews of his and, like... he more or less confesses to being insecure about this quality here, saying he doesn't always know what to say and feels uncomfortable around people who are more confident and 'verbose'. Pointing it out like this strikes me as a bit unfeeling, like suggesting he ought to feel insecure for it. Being able to express thoughts verbally on the spot in a really polished way doesn't have any correlation with how insightful someone's thoughts are. He still has really interesting things to say about the show here.
@@firstfireofautumn Yes... his instincts as an actor are really strong, but that doesn't mean he can automatically, immediately verbalize the things that he does when he's acting. I still found him to be extremely articulate, even if he took his time and chose his words carefully.
This show is so good, I really hope Severance blows up in popularity, we don't have enough thoughtful adult scifi on TV.
The problem is Apple TV is not popular
Apple TV not hugely popular. This show is absolutely incredible though. Loved the first season!
One of the best shows I've watched in recent years!

I'm pleading with everyone to watch this show. Brilliant concept, cast is amazing, the best show since G.O.T in my opinion. Can't wait for season 2

Adam seems like a cool dude
This really helps me understand a show... that I am really into. I really care about these characters.
This is excellent interview, congrats! Im in love with Adam Scott and his work on Severence.
Excellent interview, but beware- there be spoilers!
Will there be a second series ?
yup

His mother died during this time. It must have been incredibly hard especially during covid when you're so isolated anyway
Great show
Amazing interview for an amazing show!

camera angles, lighting, glasses (or lack of them) and a haircut can change a person's appearance a lot
Make up bro

Amazing interview!!
Excellent interview
Spoiler alert
wait the shows not even fully out yet, why spoil some of it??
He is really struggling to put thoughts and sentences together in this interview
Its hard not to give spoilers away
hes still reintegrating
