Interesting that you say the medium must be sterile. Being that ferns in nature don’t drop spores into anything sterile ever, would it be correct to say that the medium doesn’t HAVE TO be sterile, but rather one might have more success with sterile medium?

would this work with any kind of fern that can be propagated through spores? What about the Kangaroo Paw fern, for instance?
