Do not be discouraged. You make a difference. Consider Nehemiah, and keep at it. Shalom. May the Prince of peace be your shield and His joy, your strength. Edit: He is brutally kind. Heard that in a Crowder song, No Rival, and it has stuck with me.
I grew up with a conservative father and a burn the bra mother. Born in 67' I lucked out in that I got the best of both worlds. Joined the USMC in 86', went to war & came back became a civilian . Married a Filipino girl, had a family, got a job, and bought a house. Sept 11 happened. I saw hate first hand when I got down to ground zero 2 hours after the towers fell. Left my family, my job, my home to go back to war. 5 tours in Iraq, learned that not all Muslims are bad, got wounded, came home to grown kids, and a wife who was not sure what I had become. Don't go out in to the world anymore. I thank God,Grow chickens, love my wife and kids, help the old and the poor where I can. Maybe I'm an anathema to this generation. But I do what I can where I can to change minds. Maybe it won't do anything right now, but maybe something I said or did or exemplified will click in their head and change them, just a little bit for the better
You have such an amazing gift! I totally remember that episode of The Wonder Years. I’m grateful for the way you speak out because it makes me feel less alone in how I view the world.
Aw thanks! I'm grateful for comments like these that make me feel less alone too. There's a lot more of us than we think. It's just that, like I said in the video, the mainstream media paints a very one-sided view of the world due to having imbibed the spirits of the Summer of Love for so long. Hopefully the pendulum swings back before too much more damage is done, and doesn't go too far the other way.
Well said. I’m just old enough to have watched exactly what you are talking about. Raised on “Leave it to Beaver” but lived the wonder years as a young teenager because I turned 12 during the summer of love.
