Missed the premier, but here to support. I'm still a wash and go girly, but we grown, and grown folk know we don't have to do or enjoy the same things! I will even support you as you grow, if you choose to. As for me, I'm addicted to short, gray hair life now and I'm loving every minute of it! 😂
Exactly Girl!!!! We can all enjoy and wear our hair the way we see fit. I can’t lie, I do miss wearing my curls but I always know they are just a shampoo away! 🤣 Thank you for all your love and support. I truly appreciate you!!!! 🥰😘
Miss Shelly, I realize, for a lot of us, WNG are not for us to wear every day! I have been wearing my hair stretched and wearing it under a wig since the end of January, today I noticed how long it is! So maybe one day, I’ll wear a wash ago again! But this is my hair! I love you Sis!🤗🤗
I love that you are wearing YOUR HAIR the way you want and not thinking twice about it! That’s exactly where I’m at in my natural hair journey too. The sky is the limit Sis! ‼️💖💯🥳
Though many followed you for your hair (specifically wng styles) back then, it's also your personality too and that keeps me. Love the content, tips and all the thangs!! Your hair looks beautiful.
You did a great job👏🏿👏🏿 I really thought that the hair could recover but when even hair stylist say that they have never seen damage like that....Thank you for sharing your journey, definetly learning a lot
Thank you so much beautiful! 🥰 Girl I tried my absolute best but there’s something bizarre about this type of damage that you just can bounce back from. I’ve literally never seen or experienced anything like it in my life! 😝
You did such a good job with cutting your own hair! Go sis! And your stylist did her thang with finessing the layers and making a great cut even greater.
Shelly your hair cut is beautiful and healthy. While watching your video, I went and only blew out my hair...I've been wanting to do it for the longest to really assess my ends. I'm so glad that I did.
You look fabulous ❤❤❤. Excellent cut!!! I understand when you’re over it!!! Love your channel! Thank you so much for the transparency!!! Yup!!! Sometimes we have to start over!!! I love ❤️ a new journey! Currently on a new hair journey with my granddaughter to help her along her journey. She asked me to help her along hers as her hair was breaking off and her edges were thinning. Soooo I cut my long 3ft of hair off into a half inch pixie to inspire and be a model for her. Now her hair is thriving as she has been following my example.
Wow you’re so awesome! AND…What a blessing you are to your granddaughter❣️ I love it and would love for you to keep us updated on how it’s going. What a beautiful journey 😍
Thank you for sharing your journey I feel the same way! I had a curly cut last year and it’s been maintained and trimmed and decided to get it straightened….I had to get 7 inches cut off because of the same split ends omg😭! I started to do wash n gos everyday after I saw your videos and it helped the moisture and hydration, but I’m pregnant and don’t have the energy to do it everyday anymore 😂! But I am wearing my hair in braids during the week and style it when I go somewhere and I reintroduced grease back into my hair which has been helping me. So wearing my hair in a stretched state for the time being too 😂❤. Thank you for sharing your journey it has helped me so much!
Aww bless your heart and I pray you’re doing and feeling well in your pregnancy! ✨🙏🏽 Girl it’s a hot mess once you see what this stuff actually does to your hair! However it sounds like you got it all under control now and your hair is back on track! 🙌🏽🥰
Shelly I ❤️ your boldness, authenticity, and your willingness to go get what you want. You did awesome cutting your hair. Tim better love it because you look gorgeous! Every cut you did was exceptional, so I know you will enjoy your journey if you choose to grow it back. I wonder what you will change in your routine and regimen now, why, how. What new things will you be implementing? You know we nosy! The @AfrikanHairGod is such a gem in the community. I love how straight forward and honest he is even when I have a loaded question. 🫶🏽 I have so much respect for him!
Aww thank you Luv and I’m loving it too! Also the Afrikan Hair God is such an amazing resource. He’s helped me tremendously! I’ve changed a lot of things in my current regimen. I’m also still playing around with different things like hot oil treatments and cream stylers. It’s been interesting and fun! Thank you for your sweet comment. I appreciate it and you! 🥰😘
Annoyed for you that we even had to get to this point, but this sexy Auntie cut is everything on you. It's giving grown and about your business. It looks LUSH!!
You did a FABULOUS JOB ON YOUR HAIR!!! You look fantastic!!! This natural hair thing is truly a journey. I have been WnG only after my Big Chop 2 yrs ago (3 inches long!)but now I’m all about protective styles bec my hair has really grown (bra strap length) over these past 2 yrs and a WnG is difficult to pull off. No longer can I rock a big Fro bec it’s too long. The easiest thing is protective styling with and without head wraps. So - We all adjust as needed and you’ve made an excellent adjustment for you!!! You look amazing no matter what you do bec you just roll like that!! Enjoy!!! 🥰😍❤️
Aww thank you so very much!!! 💖🥹 So how often did you cut your hair over the last 2 years that you’ve been growing it out? Also I’m extremely sorry for my delayed response but girl these kids got me in a chokehold over here! 🤣
Honestly before the cut, I was like it doesn’t look that bad? But after the cut, your hair looks amazing and it’s obvious the hair was damaged. It looks like your ends are no longer unravelling so at least now you can have peace of mind 🤞🏾🤞🏾 I get what you mean about needing to cut off damage, I’ve been transitioning my heat damage out with a cut every few months. I can’t stand seeing the damage and after each cut, it’s a relief that my hair looks more like my own hair.
I Love it. Do what works for your hair. I have always preferred to blow out my hair for trims and cuts. The minute stylist started that curly cut my hair was jacked up. I had did a big chop in 2019, then again the following 2 years. I took scissors and cut it myself 2 months ago. Some stylist just don't take the time. I never damaged my hair if I blow dried and flat iron. But when someone else did it was heat damaged I cut it off. Some stylist are good and booked so it's challenging to get the right person in your hair when needed in Minnesota. I know I need my hair shaped but I will keep doing my own hair for now. Curly or Strait your hair looks fabulous. Getting to know the strands on your head is key
Either way, you are gorgeous…curly or straight! You do what works for you. I’ve cut mine several times just because that’s what I wanted to do. As I have gotten older I love a banging short cut!❤
I’ve cut my hair before too & will do it again if need be💇🏽♀️ I love the fact that you care about the Health of your hair over just a Style! I’m the same way. It’s true I enjoy my natural curls but I want the proper handling & care for them as well.
Preach!!!!! As you already know I had to go even shorter than this because it’s health over length for me too! It’ll grow back and I’m excited to go on this journey with yall! 💖✨🥳
If you see my Pic profile I cut all my off...and my natural color yes the gray and I honestly love it and slapped a relaxer in it. I workout too much and caregiver..this works for me. I love straight the way and go never worked for me but enjoyed watching others. Enjoy watching your hair videos...
Girl we all gotta do what works best for us and you clearly have found it for yourself! So don’t let anyone make you feel any kind of way about how YOU choose to wear YOUR HAIR! I know you already know that but it just feels good saying it! 🤣✨💖
Aww thank you beautiful! I’ve had to go even shorter since the making of this video but I’m thankful to still have a little hair left! 💖🙏🏽 Hope you’re and doing amazing Sis! Stay blessed! 🤗😘
You did a good job. I was the same way. When i don't see my hair looking it's best. I cut it no problem. It grows back healthier. It's nice and full and will be longer again in no time.
Hi!!! Looking good sis (as always)😊 We’re with you sis no judgement; you can wash and go, twist, straight, or nothing at all lol we’ll (I’ll) be here. Shelly!! Sis the inserts 😂😂😂😂 ❤
Shelly you are the Queen! You went ahead and did what you felt you had to do with your hair! I am not mad at you! You have a beautiful thick head of hair, long or short. You did a pretty good job of cutting it too.
I have cut my own hair a number of times. My hair is now bra-strap length again. Second time around after heat damage caused by hair stylists. I am considering cutting it shorter to shoulder length (blown out). Do what pleases you. At my present age I do not care what others think, it’s not their darn business. You did a wonderful job❣️Love the even shorter version by your stylist. ❤❤
Oh wow that’s so awesome to hear and very reassuring! 😅 I’m excited to be on this new journey and I am enjoying every step of the way with zero regrets! Thank you for sharing your story because it’s very helpful not only for me but for others as well! 💖✨😘
It looks lovely. Even if it was a "downsize" for a reasons you'd wish to not have gone though, you're making the most of it and choosing to enjoy it. If you have to go through a change, why not find the flowers where you can. You get to enjoy another personality until it grows back. I lost a car before. I had to give up a place I loved for something smaller. I still decorated my kitchen. I still put my cute seat covers on my new older car. There was no denying I wanted to regain what I used to have. But I chose to enjoy that season even if it was a downsize. You seem to be taking the same approach with the hair. If you have to go through it, find the joy where you can.
Yes, I love that for you! I personally now believe heat is an important part of making sure the hair is healthy. Honestly, I was floored at how damaged my hair was when I finally blew it out because everything was hidden so well underneath all of my curls. With that said, I know that not everyone is comfortable with using heat in their hair and that’s okay too. We just all need to do what we feel is best for our individual hair. 💖
I love the short straight style on you. It frames your face so nicely and it’s just sassy. I’m sticking with wash’n go for May through November and braid it away under a wig for the cold finnicky Ohio weather. I wish I could wear it straight or do twist outs but my density is so thin, those styles don’t look good on me. It’s not noticeable with wash’n go’s. But I’m loving this sassy bob on you.❤
I’m thinking about just WNG during the winter - I feel you Shelly my split ends seem to be to the max with the WNG - you are awesome- love the cut! You do you hun!
I totally agree! There’s something about the wng’s that make me feel it shouldn’t be worn exclusively but I could definitely be wrong. Time shall tell. 💖🙏🏽
I’ve cut my hair a lot too lately because of damage due to a different regimen than what you were doing. I really did a number on my hair, don’t know what I was thinking. 😢 Just trying to get my hair back healthy and it seems just when you think you’re there you look at it and it needs more cutting. 😕 Your hair looks amazing and so healthy and wow you did an awesome job on the cut!!! I’ve been trying hard to improve my diy cuts.
@shelly.v.247 Thanks! It is getting there finally! I cut off so much length and I still feel it needs a bit more but it’s looking so much better and healthier. I can really relate to your frequent cutting….you just want it to be healthy again. I have cut so many times, I kinda feel like it becomes an addiction after awhile lol.
Hey Shelly! I'm still rockin' with you cause I'm nosey😂. I'm going to press my hair for Easter. Your journey has given me the courage to try something different. The last time my hair was straight was 2011.
@shelly.v.247 I chickened out and blow dried it with my RevAir. I did a braid out instead. It turned out beautifully. My hair is waist length, and some of the church ladies don't believe it is all my hair.
I can so relate. I am sadly in this boat and trying to figure out the causes. Curly, it looks good, but I see so many splits. It's crazy and like you currently over it and decided to cut a bunch
You’re haircut looks great! I’m happy that you are making the best of this and you are just as Fab as before! ☺️. You are an inspiration to us gals and thank you for sharing your journey with us. Healthy hair is the best hair.
Please please give us a styling at home video!!!! Maybe you can blowdry and dry roll. I tried to roll my hair and on wow my curls were reverting reverting reverting. 😮 I do need a hairdryer again though instead of sleeping in rollers. That cut is great and long hair ain't shid when it's unhealthy. Cut and healthy is the way to always go....hands down. ❤
ok so i know this was months ago and i know you’ve got a shorter cut since this however i watched the video before this when you got it cut and her shears seem to be dull and that honestly could be the reason why every time you were getting your hair cut the ends would get bad. as a professional we always tell people if they cut their hair done use dull shears or anything that’s not hair shears and the reason is because it’s just going to split their hair. so idk if you already figured out the reason but just a thought ! the bob was cute tho!!
Aww thank you for sharing your thoughts about the cutting shears. She actually had just gotten them sharpened the day before I came in. Also the ones I used were brand new from CosmoProf. 💖 Trust me I wish it were the shears because that would be a much easier fix! 😩
@@shelly.v.247 SO Therapeutic!!! I didn’t realize how my ends and all the spits were making it harder to detangle. My hair and ends are so soft now and easy to detangle now. It looks thicker CUT than it did when it was long. I was shedding ALOT of hair and my hair got noticeably thinner.
Totally get where you are with this. I hate hate hate when I have damage. I just cut off like an inch and some change after my last check-in. I hope I’m in the clear for the rest of my hair but we’ll see 😭 I realized I wasn’t subscribed to your channel but I fixed that! The short cut is super cute on you. And who knows! You might decide you want to keep it there lol
We sound like twins with cutting our hair! Lol 😆 I cannot stand damaged hair. I’d rather have it short than have length with damage. 💯 Also, you’re right right about keeping it short because I’m really loving this style and look. We shall see. Lastly, thank you so very much for subscribing! I’m thrilled to have you here with us Sis! 🥰🤗
Hey Shelly, I just love love your cut. Your hair is absolutely beautiful. You did a good job and she did an even better job. It's beautiful. Praying you will grow happy hair and love it. Thanks so much for sharing. Love you girl.
Hey Shelly ❤ the no oils no butter, no leave in right, what were you moisturizing your hair with? Just curious.. not going to try it though 😢 love your channel you are Awesome
I wish I could be you right now and never had tried it! 👀🫣🤣 So supposedly washing your hair routinely and following it up with just a rinse out conditioner was all was needed to moisturize the hair. 🧐 Chile that may work for some folks but for me, it destroyed my hair!!! My hair felt and looked like the bottom of a dang broom 🧹 🤣
Hi Ms. Shelly, can you share the sheers you used, I need some good ones as well 😊 I had one of these being-done-moments and cut my own hair years ago, so I understand!
The cut is beautiful you did a great job. When your stylist gets back I don't think she will need to do much unless you decide that you want to go shorter.
Annoyed for you that we even had to get to this point, but this sexy Auntie cut is everything on you. It's giving grown and about your business. It looks LUSH!!

It’s weird how some people are so pressed about how you are managing YOUR OWN hair.
Girl ain’t that the truth!!! 👀🫣🤣
Though many followed you for your hair (specifically wng styles) back then, it's also your personality too and that keeps me. Love the content, tips and all the thangs!! Your hair looks beautiful.
Aww, thank you Sis! 🥰
I’m so glad you get my sense of humor too! 👀🫣🤣

Aww thank you so very much Luv and I pray your hair is healthy and thriving!!!! 💖🙏🏽😘
You did a good job. I'm impressed!
Thank you so very much! 💖It needed to go! 😅
You’re hair is gorgeous curly or straight! Love your hair cut, short and sassy!❤️ the Bob is Bobbing!
I can’t lie, I’m loving bob life and thank you so very much beautiful! 🥰🤗😘
AND…What a blessing you are to your granddaughter❣️
I love it and would love for you to keep us updated on how it’s going.
What a beautiful journey 😍
I just love your hair. The thickness is amazing. The damage didn't take that away. You did a great job.. I love the body in your hair.
Aww thank you so much!!😍 I’m thankful that at 51 I still have a good level of density and I pray it never changes. 💖🙏🏽
So how often did you cut your hair over the last 2 years that you’ve been growing it out?
Also I’m extremely sorry for my delayed response but girl these kids got me in a chokehold over here! 🤣

Great Job on this hair cut Shelly! Looking forward to following your new journey. Thanks for sharing. Peace & Blessings!

Hope you’re and doing amazing Sis! Stay blessed! 🤗😘

Preach!!!! 🙌🏽
That’s exactly where I am in my journey Sis. Thank you for explaining my thoughts with where I am perfectly 🥰
Came out cute. Cut mine 4 years ago to go curly. All of the length. Now it's grown back. I don't ever straighten it, I love my natural curl pattern.
Yes, I love that for you! I personally now believe heat is an important part of making sure the hair is healthy. Honestly, I was floored at how damaged my hair was when I finally blew it out because everything was hidden so well underneath all of my curls.

Your cut was great. Your stylist’s cut was icing on the cake!! The heatless curls were super cute ❤
Thank you and yes I think my stylist did a great job too👏🏽
Those heatless rollers are the truth!!! 🥰
Those splits are SERIOUS! I’m so sorry!!!
Ugh they are awful! 😣
But I’m loving this sassy bob on you.❤
Aww thank you Luv! 🥰 Yes, nothing wrong with picking the style that suits you and your hair. I love the flexibility our hair offers‼️😍💯
Do it your way 🙌🏼...I float down that hair journey river with you anytime 🤗 🚣♂️
Yes and Thank you Luv!!!! 💖✨🥳
I’ve cut my hair a lot too lately because of damage due to a different regimen than what you were doing. Ohhhhh man I’m sorry to hear that! I hope your hair is on the mend now Luv! ❤️🩹
I’m torn….I like this style and I love the curls 🤔 you got me all discombobulated over here! Lol 😂
Me too!!🤣🤣🤣
Girl your hair and cut is gorgeous. I might have to swag Jack as you say lol
Haha…..Please do! 🤣😍🥳
Hey Shelly! I'm still rockin' with you cause I'm nosey😂. I'm going to press my hair for Easter. Your journey has given me the courage to try something different. The last time my hair was straight was 2011.
Oh wow, how’d it turn out Sis? 😍
@shelly.v.247 I chickened out and blow dried it with my RevAir. I did a braid out instead. It turned out beautifully. My hair is waist length, and some of the church ladies don't believe it is all my hair.
God is always on time!!!🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Ain’t he though!!! 💯💖🙌🏽
You did a beautiful job! Gives me faith to just go ahead and cut my own hair.
I’m not gonna lie, it was so freeing! 💖✨🥳
I can so relate. I am sadly in this boat and trying to figure out the causes. Curly, it looks good, but I see so many splits. It's crazy and like you currently over it and decided to cut a bunch
Aww I hope you get it figured it out soon Sis! Mine was from following the No oils & butters method and getting curly cuts. 😝
Do you Boo! I’m here to support you in your journey….And I’m nosy 😂
I appreciate that! 🤣💖
Your hair is absolutely gorgeous. And you did a good job on cutting it yourself, very impressive 👏.
Thank you so much!!✨😘
I am loving the cut, it is so gorgeous!!!
Thank you!!💖💖💖
You’re haircut looks great! I’m happy that you are making the best of this and you are just as Fab as before! ☺️. You are an inspiration to us gals and thank you for sharing your journey with us.
Healthy hair is the best hair.
Thank you so much!!🥹💖🤗
You look beautiful and so does your hair 💗
Thank you so much Sis! 🥹💖🥰😘
I agree with you on that Sis! I’ll definitely try and do a video on how I straighten my hair 🥰
I thought you went to a salon omg😍🔥🔥
Aww thank you so very much! 🥰 I went afterwards and got it tightened up. Team work for the win! 💖🥳
@@shelly.v.247 love it☺️☺️🙏🏾🙏🏾
ok so i know this was months ago and i know you’ve got a shorter cut since this however i watched the video before this when you got it cut and her shears seem to be dull and that honestly could be the reason why every time you were getting your hair cut the ends would get bad. as a professional we always tell people if they cut their hair done use dull shears or anything that’s not hair shears and the reason is because it’s just going to split their hair. so idk if you already figured out the reason but just a thought ! the bob was cute tho!!
Aww thank you for sharing your thoughts about the cutting shears. She actually had just gotten them sharpened the day before I came in. Also the ones I used were brand new from CosmoProf. 💖
Trust me I wish it were the shears because that would be a much easier fix! 😩
Just subscribed! Love your cut! I just cut mine myself. Loving it! And I love your personality!!!
Aww thank you so very much for subbing!💖
I bet it was very therapeutic to cut it huh? 😍🥰
Wow Shelley, your hair looks amazing!!
Oh thank you Luv! ✨💖😘
Your hair looks amazing!
Aww thank you Luv! 💖😘
❤️🥰🤗💋😍Your hair is gorgeous! I love this cut!

The cut and style came out beautiful. Love It!!!
Thank you and I’m loving it so much too! 💖🥰
I love it! Thanks for sharing
You are so welcome and thank you for watching! 😍✨😘
Thank you so much beautiful and love ya back!!!! 💖✨🤗😘
Love the silk press and one thing about your hair it grows back really fast! I would have thought a professional cut your hair 😊
Thank you so much beautiful! I’m praying it continues to grow fast especially with this last cut I had done 👀🤣
Your hair looks great! I would love for you to do a video on the products and method used to do your silk press
Coming soon when I silk press the next time Luv. ✨😘
I think that your hair looks great . You have inspired me to try it. Thank you
Yay! Thank you!💖😘
Hey Shelly ❤ the no oils no butter, no leave in right, what were you moisturizing your hair with? Just curious.. not going to try it though 😢 love your channel you are Awesome
I wish I could be you right now and never had tried it! 👀🫣🤣
So supposedly washing your hair routinely and following it up with just a rinse out conditioner was all was needed to moisturize the hair. 🧐
Chile that may work for some folks but for me, it destroyed my hair!!! My hair felt and looked like the bottom of a dang broom 🧹 🤣
Hi Ms. Shelly, can you share the sheers you used, I need some good ones as well 😊 I had one of these being-done-moments and cut my own hair years ago, so I understand!
Omgoodness I’m sooooo sorry how late I am in getting this information to you Sis! Please forgive my tardiness!
They are the XS by Cricket. 💖😘
@@shelly.v.247 You sent the info to me before, no worries, I know you have a lot going on 🤗
Beautiful cut and hair! What brand of shears did your stylist recommend?
Thank you Luv! Just looked and they say “Cricket” on them. On the other side it says “SX” 🥰

The cut is beautiful you did a great job. When your stylist gets back I don't think she will need to do much unless you decide that you want to go shorter.
Thank you so much!!✨💖😘
Looking good!
Thank you! 🥰
You look beautiful girl😀
Thank you so much 🥰😘
It's so cute
Thank you!💖🤗
Oh I thought it was just frizz because your hair was dehydrated. You did a good job cutting your hair
Shoot I wish! It was split ends that I continued to see plus a weird texture change that occurred.
Annoyed for you that we even had to get to this point, but this sexy Auntie cut is everything on you. It's giving grown and about your business. It looks LUSH!!
Thank you Luv! 💖 It’s sad that I have to state it but the trolls are back hard at work it seems. 😆
You did a great job!
Thank you!💖🤗
