You said they are not completely airtight. Would groceries remain fresh in them ? How long?

They are perfectly fine for keeping lentils, beans, grains and spices. Most of the grocery items are consumed within 1 to 2 months and they remain fresh, however if you are concerned about some particular things such as semolina, then it’s best to keep them in the refrigerator to avoid spoilage. Is it advisable to use plastic containers ?i like the shape of these containers...really confused ...thanks for all info
No problem in using plastic for cold food materials which will be cooked later. Only when u keep hot things there will problem of leaving of chemicals from plastic containers

Salt, sugar, tamarind, should not be kept in plastic other things are fine I guess
