Little Simz is criminally underrated, her last two albums, ‘Sometimes I Might Be Introvert’ and ‘No Thank You’ should be held in the top echelon of hip-hop albums of all time and I really don’t say that lightly. Please have a bit of a deep dive and react to some more of her, she’s amazing and deserves the attention! Big love brother ❤
This is set in 70’s Nigeria and is an homage to her Family (her Mum is the lady throwing money at her in the party scene). Most of her videos are shot like movies and just add the the art, her lyrics, beats and visuals are crazy 🔥
She is so good love her
She's just incredible!
Simz doesn’t miss - you won’t regret the deep dive!
Her last 3 albums are modern classics and are fire from start to finish. start with Grey Area and work forwards - you won’t be disappointed 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I’m kicking myself for finding this reaction so late. Point And Kill is a favorite! Little Simz and Obongjayar are both giants! I’m up for any of your reactions to either of them!
Those dudes on the road are part of a revivalist culture there. Lots of 70’s/80s revival cultures going on. They are really about that look/style/music.
I love this artist- you are correct- her videos are cinematic- keep reacting to her❤❤❤
The video concept is a tribute to the 1973 Senegalese film Touki Bouki by Djibril Mambéty. Very creative piece. I highly recommend it.
A lot of the video references scenes from a 1970s film, Touki Bouk, from Senegalese filmaker Djibril Diop Mambéty.
Yeah please do more Simbi - probably my fave artist of the last 20 years or so 👍👍👍
Love this one✌️😊
Great reaction, Simz is a top tier ARTIST!! 👑 I hope you get to enjoy her some more 😊
This song clearly has references to funk, which was born in Nigeria and Ghana and then came to you in America in the 70s. That's why you had that impression. Even the boy's use of falsetto is a clear nod to that style. As for the rest, my interpretation is that what we see in the video is the classic scene from a favela where two women are beating each other up over something trivial. For someone like me, born in a place like that, it’s almost obvious. He, on the other hand, is afraid of no one because he has a gun, does whatever he wants, and if he feels like it, he'll kill you with a smile.
