  • Track effects are automated with effect commands & graphical automation. Those methods can also automate effects within an instrument using macros. Those automations must be manually created across the entire song, but there is another technique that works automatically.

Ver 3.x does quite a bit for me personally. What should 4.x features be?

@@molotovbliss Don`t get me wrong I`m quite happy with what we have and Renoise has always been my go-to DAW but I do wish we`d get version updates at lest a bit more often then the usual pace they come at. And in terms of improvements/features that could be added I think there could be too much to mention - same as with any other DAW or any other piece of software for that matter. When you have in mind the size of the developer team and the asking price it`s easy to understand why it lacks updates in comparison to the "mainstream" and popular DAWs I just think (and wish) it`s high-time a new version comes out if anything - to bring new life to Renoise and hopefully attract new users which I think is one of the main reasons for the glacial pace of development. Ofc I`m not even entertaining the idea it will somehow gain the same popularity as Ableton or FL but if at least the userbase increases it would lead to a chain reaction where steady improvement would be expected.

i suppose *its time,* yea. renoise is great, and seeing them active again with the tutorial stuff here on youtube is nice. would be nicer if they would keep working on developing the daw. i just use renoise redux in my other daw lol.

@@superactivitylad yeah I`ve seen quite a lot of ppl saying the same thing. One of the things I miss the most with the current version is the ability to use it with ReWire to other DAWs. Yes it was Propellerhead`s technology and they decided to stop updating or even supporting but it`s up to the devs at Renoise to integrate something else like Ableton link for example. As far as I know it`s harder to program trackers in order to do certain things or "speak" with other software but come on - it`s 2022 people program software that is way more complex I just can`t accept the idea that it`s somehow impossible to figure out a solution to issues from 10 years ago or whatever. Again I`m not complaining quite the contrary - I just love this DAW and I want to see it to grow and improve.

@@isellcrack3537 When was the last time you even checked the Renoise updates? Did you even see the 3.4 update 4 months ago? They literally added Ableton Link support lol. It now also supports the ARM architecture, meaning you can run it on a Raspberry Pi and an M1 Apple product natively.
Updates are slow, yes, but when they do update it it's usually for the sake of adding functional features and fixing stuff, not for the sake delivering constant updates for some reason. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think Renoise has a huge team so this pace does have some reasoning behind it... although I would be lying if I said I'm not constantly excitedly waiting for the next version. So yes it tends to be slow, but we can't do anything unless Renoise suddenly hires a ton more programmers (I'm curious what would happen if it went that way).
