Jia De Guzman was the ace of the game for the PH team. she was way better than before. Her stint in Japan was a great help to improve more of her settings. Congrats to team Alas Pilipinas!
Add to that, the team selection is impressive. a mix of veterans and collegiate standouts is a very great idea. For me, this is the best team ever assembled.

@@ramvillanueva4749If overall lineup (with both 1st and 2nd stringers) I’d still go for 2018-2019 NT. The 2nd stringers of this squad, we have to see if they do deliver. What makes this squad better looking is the setting skills of De Guzman. The way she rotates her spikers, she perfected her sets to the antennae, the backrow attacks (if only we had this more before), and the quick plays. If only they have a natural middle 1 in this squad it would have been complete(I miss the slides with Marano, Ortiz and Madayag during that era 😅), hopefully they’ll get someone for the July competition. Catindig is still as stable as when she joined NT way back 2018. And putting Rondina as Open 1 is a very good choice indeed, but my question is who can be her substitute? (with good FD and explosive attacks). And Canino, what a revelation. This will be a big showdown for position if ever they will get Solomon and Carlos for July 😂
But this squad especially the first 6 is solid. Now I’m excited when other players will be free to play on July then SEA Games next year 😍. If some of the players I want will be included, I think it will be my top NT 🙏🏻… Sana naman makisama na sa schedule of practices kasi ang PVL at UAAP para dream team talaga ❤

For the very short preparation time, a strong setter and libero tandem is really the key. Sa mga bashers and doubters, Angel Canino says hi! Was expecting Sisi to carry the load, but Jia distributed well even with only one week of connection built. Special mention to Gandler, that was a major turnaround point in this match. The team will need a legit slider/runner in the middle, but what a way to introduce Gagate and Sharma internationally.

Enjoyed watching the game replay here. Great teamwork, setting by Jia was top tier, wings and middle attackers did really well and digging by Catindid was phenomenal.

The team needs to work on minimizing errors, use the blockers to block out, more floor defense and more combinations to keep the opponents guessing.
