The Controversial Link In The Dinosaur To Bird Theory
Вставка
- Опубліковано 27 вер 2024
- Did velociraptors really become birds? New discoveries challenge the old theory! Feathered dinosaurs may be a dead end, and the true bird ancestors are out there waiting to be found. In a nutshell, we have discussed how paleontologists are piecing together a more nuanced picture using fossil re-evaluation, phylogenetic analysis, and the hunt for the real missing link. I can't believe Creationists are still training themselves to ignore this.
What do you expect? They sign their knowledge away to an ancient book that reads like a cs lewis book
Framing this as opposing the birds having evolved from dinosaurs is clickbait I wouldn't have expected from an educational channel of such quality. Other than that, very good video.
Thank you for your feedback and support. We value your criticism and will keep it in mind for our next video.🫡❤️
This channel will blow off very soon... The quality says it all.... kurzgesat vibe
Thanks
Never knew people are discovering that birds came from the oviraptor lineage
A new study suggests the true ancestor of birds existed well before Oviraptor and Archaeopteryx. Oviraptors and other feathered dinosaurs found in China all descended from this common ancestor. Some of these feathered dinosaurs reached dead ends in their evolution, while others continued to evolve into the birds we know today.
Without genetic evidence, well never sort out all the convergent evolution thru morphology alone.
No, definitely not. Right the other way, there's an idea around that oviraptorids branched off the bird lineage.
Some places to find dead dinosurs:
1. Museum
2. KFC
😀
hi Kurzgesagt! (Still though great video!)
Thanks
I instantly liked this video so that youtube push your content. I can say a lot of effort has been put in this single video.
Nice work here
Thanks for the visit
I believe I recently read not all dinosaurs had feathers, only a few select types. This includes the Theropods, of course.
pterodactyl was ahead of its time
Stick around. It won't be too much longer before this entire 'dinosaur to bird' theory is ditched.
great video!!!
Thanks
bro, I also from India. Can you tell me how you make such good animations? I think your channel has too much potential. Just don't stop uploading
Thanks. We use multiple softwares combined majorly Adobe suite . Also, we have a team of animators.
@@lectureit I would like to run a similar channel, how much do you think such teams of animators would cost per video?
YT will notice your effort very soon, trust me and dont stop uploading videos.
Hope so
The quality of this video is top notch... keep uploading and yt will pay off Ur hardwork
Sure, we will!
Very great quality video… Cant wait to see you post more stuffs.
Thank you, I will
Something weird regarding this video is that it sets oviraptorosaurs as a separate lineage from therapods, but as far as I can verify, oviraptorosaurs are members of maniraptorans nested within the theropods, so even if birds came from oviraptorosaurs, I don't see how that challenges the current consensus.
This is really well animated
kurzgesagt style animation without the baggage
@@epelly3 It's good to have more similar style videos on internet and I can see them improving their quality further with each uploads.
This channle should have more subscribers and likes
Thanks
Literally this video is so educational and interesting. Made me love this channel
Glad to hear it!
I commend the graphics. It's amazing.
Thanks
Birds are like how humans are still considered ape’s because we evolved from apes. They are also like lemurs and other primates that don’t look like monkeys or apes.
Archaeopteryx was surely not The connecting link between....bird earliest ancestor exsited way before than dinosaur.
Yes
What a great quality video. The artstyle is so eye catching. I rarely compliment any channel, but this artstyle is really very cool.
Thank you so much 😀
id love to learn about how internal temperature regulation developed in dinosaurs and birds
Your video quality is so top nothc, this channel will blow very soon
Hope so!
I never really believed that birds are dinosaur's like yes I believe and I know they evolved from them and are closely related but now it's been millions of millions of years and birds have become there own things they aren't modern dinosaur just like where not modern synapsids like yes we evolved from them and are related but we're are own things (mammals) its the same for birds
no, we ARE modern synapsids, we are also mammals, we are also apes. you cannot evolve out of a clade. birds are dinosaurs! also, every vertebrate is a fish. using this logic, we realize the web of life is far more entangled than one would first think it to be. imagine a cell. that's you! and every other living thing, plant and animal, are all born out of cells working together. i can and WILL explain the evolution of all life to you if i had infinite time.
I love dinosaurs.... Hope we could revive them again.😂
for this type of content i pay my internet bill. Great video pal !
Awesome, thank you!
great video. Thanks for covering this topic.
Glad you liked it!
Well made and informative. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
great video. You're right, that's a common misconception! While velociraptors were definitely dinosaur ancestors of birds, they weren't the direct line that led to modern birds
Thanks for sharing!
"While velociraptors were definitely dinosaur ancestors of birds, they weren't the direct line that led to modern birds"
- you clearly don't know what an ancestor is, given your self-contradiction
@@Dr.Ian-Plect Chill dude, you got your basics incorrect. Lemme correct you and refine your knowledge - Velociraptors belong to the group of theropods that share a common ancestor with birds, making them part of the broader evolutionary family.
@@ds0054 "Chill dude, you got your basics incorrect. Lemme correct you and refine your knowledge - Velociraptors belong to the group of theropods that share a common ancestor with birds, making them part of the broader evolutionary family."
- you have just further shown your lack of knowledge of this subject, whilst still showing you don't know what an ancestor is. And that's some deep irony claiming you are about to refine my knowledge, whilst spewing nonsense.
1. Velociraptors and birds are _both_ theropods, the clade Theropoda. This does not make velociraptors ancestral to birds.
2. Velociraptors and birds sharing a common ancestor does not mean velociraptors are ancestral to birds.
3. Since this is about specifics, you have misused 'family', which is a taxonomic term not applicable here.
--------------
I'll try to help _you_ after those corrections, to refine _your_ knowledge, but you need to be honest at this point.
An ancestor is an individual from which another individual originates, such as parents being the ancestors of their children.
Now let's apply that to your first comment;
"While velociraptors were definitely dinosaur ancestors of birds, they weren't the direct line that led to modern birds"
- an ancestor _is_ a direct line, from which its descendants follow. So on the one hand you are stating velociraptors _are_ ancestors of birds, but on the other stating 'not a direct line'!
- then apply the meaning of ancestor to your next comment. All that states is that both birds and velociraptors are within the same group. Well guess what? Your aunt is in the same group as you (close family), but she is not your ancestor!

great animation..you explanined such complex with so ease 💯
Thanks
Yes actually I did a bunch of research
I used to think dinosaur was more dominant but no we are
Raptor means.. bird of prey
That's not its only meaning.
❤
youtube algorithm soon gonna notice you mark my words
Great video and the animation reminds me of another channel i cant pronounce the name. but the video is perfect quality
Thanks! 😃
btw cool video and animation, just like that kgesgat channel
Thanks
👍👍
So birds are reptiles
birds began to evolve before mass extinction
Which mass extinction?
@@ThePalosi K-T, and yes, they evolved well before that
Fun fact: birds and other archosaurs actually have 4 toes on their hind legs as opposed to 5 found on mammals and reptiles
Given that birds are reptiles, that makes a nonsense of your blanket claim.
@@Dr.Ian-PlectBirds are reptiles? What are you even talking about dude? Birds belong to class Aves of phylum chordata from animal kingdom whereas reptiles belong to class reptilia of animal kingdom.
@@Shinigami77380 A reply showing your outdated understanding. That is Linnaean taxonomy 'dude'. Read up on on cladistics and what traits birds have that make them reptiles. As well as that background info, if you maintain they are not reptiles, then explain how birds are more related to crocodiles than either are to lizards (easily verifiable), taxa I'm sure you consider reptiles, just a thought exercise...
---------------
The point here is that you don't understand modern biology.

Getting premium quality educational content isn't a bad thing. They are making their own content with a very similar style. More high quality educational content on youtube is a good thing amid all the waste that gets viral very often. This should be appreciated, not something to be attacked. If you, like me, are a fan of kurzgesagt, shouldn't you be happy that this channel exists?
I actually kinda liked the video even though this is similar to Kurzgesagt, because i want more content like they make on internet. This should be appreciated and come’on man, these video takes effort no matter if they are similar style. Animation of this level is a tough thing, this should be appreciated.
Every day birds fly to my house and I release I have been seeing modern days Dinosaur
no no no listen to the video
@@ericb2017
No one can say forcsure what lineage birds are without genetic evidence.
There is just too much convergent evolution going on to rely upon morphology alone.
and so the theory of evolution must change AGAIN... Takes a lot of faith.
BTY im not a Creationist.
3:28 but oviraptorids are therapod dinosaurs? great animation but some of your points are questionable and some are wrong. still though, glad the algorythm is pushing your content, but maybe research on what clades the therapods include, as its way more than maniraptorans and tyrannosaurs.
wow how fascinating to know all these creature were there on our earth once
hey hey hey now this is a very very controversial take on the matter. first I’ve heard of it, yet, it makes me think….
New studies and evidence are challenging the long held notion we've had.
So informative! Thank you so much for this. It really is interesting how birds came to be!
Glad it was helpful!
Great content. Keep growing
Yeah, keep supporting
Beautifully constructed, easy to listen to and watch video. Thank you :)
Thank you too!
This is a very unique take on the matter.
Thanks
One researcher thinks that some are now moths....could this be true as they require less energy than in the past....?????Some one should look into it....
This video give feels of kurzgesagt!
🙏
I wish there was a movie where something like a made up "hidden gene" actives in birds all across earth and they begin growing slightly bigger and acting like real Dinosaurs causing a apocalypse kind of thing.
seeing this premiuumm quality animation is BLOWING MY MIND
Thanks
Nice video
Thanks
Actually, Oviraptorisaurids are a group of theropods. And birds aren't direct descendents of Oviraptorisaurids or Dromaeosaurids.
Without a genetic smoking gun, none of this is proven. There are scores of convergent evolution cases today and likely in the past that cannot be accounted for by morphology alone.
Remember "Insectivora" and "Liliaceae" prior to mDNA analysis' availability?
Very cool
❤❤❤❤ superb video..i wish this video get viral soon ...lots of love man. keep up the good work
Thank you so much 😀
dromaeosaurids like velociraptors look similar to modern day hawks
❤❤❤ i don't believe this channel has so less subscribers. You need millions
Thanks
Birds are perfect magic the most amazing animal on Earth
True
I think they definitely split from a common ancestor to dinosaurs but NOT directly from them.
Nonsense, this video doesn't even make that claim, and it's entirely without merit; it is well established birds evolved from theropod dinosaurs, not from a common ancestor shared by non-avian dinosaurs.
birds ARE dinosaurs
I used to think that birds evolved from the pterodactyl but no apparently they evolved from the much earlier ancestors
