I was one of the Marines assigned to Carl's "unit" and this is probably one of the greatest things I was involved in, at the end of the night after carl and the seals took us down we got into a ping pong ball fight, where we were just hitting ping pong balls at each other as hard as we could. My buddy Jesky was about to wind up and hit carl super hard with a ping pong ball, when carl dropped his paddle looked up at him all sad and said "are you really gonna hit a kid with cancer?" I loved every second of working with this kid, after all he's been though he's still smiling and in my book that makes him tough enough to be one of us.
We're so glad you could help make Carl's wish come true, and that it was as inspiring to you as it has been for all of us at Make-A-Wish. Thank you for your service.
So glad to hear your boy is doing well! We shared an update to Carl's wish a couple of years ago. You can see what he's been up to at ua-cam.com/video/JZ1NyvTG270/v-deo.html.
Man, this would be my dream too, maybe slightly different, but very similar. Good to see the youth of America take interest in history. I hope this child is doing well.
That was really neat to see.......... just wondering how this child is doing now. Boy what an experience to have had. And of course the Military did an excellent job.
+Mickey Cook We recently interviewed Carl to find out how his wish continues to be part of his life. You can see it here: ua-cam.com/video/JZ1NyvTG270/v-deo.html.
I cried when I watched this. The time and effort it took to recreate the wish. All the men who were willing to give their time. I’m proud of all of them.
These videos really make me go back to every time I can remember saying something wasn’t fair. Hopefully I will never have to face something that really is unfair, like what these parents and Carl have gone through.
Jay 0711 it’s not about fairness, it’s lessons and experiences, in order to grow and evolve and being the best you can be. And learn that chemo and radiation are just giving them all the money and power and life. There has always been cures! Look it up!(:
MakeAWishAKWA the younger one is the more resilient they are because they know and remember, but then they are frightened and hurt and otherwise raised to let everyone dictate what they are, unfortunately...
My heartfelt and sincere thanks to all of you men and women who serve our country and our citizens here at home. You took a little boy who was/is fighting for his life and gave him a memory he will never forget. For all the pain, sickness, spinal taps, bone marrow aspirations, and chemicals he has gotten, you all washed it away for a few days and then some. Now when he has further treatment, God willing I hope no more treatment, but reality is he will fight this for many years to come, he has something to think about. Closing his eyes he can transport himself to the day/s he spent with the marines and seals, and have a true smile on his face. To all who participated in this young mans wish, you are HEROS and deserve a medal for your hard work and commitment to making this kids life! Thank You!
Why would a video like this have a dislike button? This is the most amazing Make-A-Wish ever! I agree with The mother he’s a survivor I also think it’s really cool that he’s into World War II stuff. Most of this generation are not acutely aware of what our country went through during that time it’s encouraging to see there are a few that really care about what happened back then.
I'm retired Air Force. That being said, all sibling rivalry put aside, I am proud to call the Army, Navy and Marines my brothers and sisters. I'll stand with each and every one of you anytime. Anywhere. Thank you to the men and women at Pearl Harbor for making this young mans wish one hell of an experience.
Thank you for your service! And your support of wish kids like Carl. Carl's wish truly took an incredible team from many branches of the military and we are so grateful! If you'd like to see an update to Carl's story, check out this video: ua-cam.com/video/JZ1NyvTG270/v-deo.html
The things make a wish does is amazing. The heart that some of these little kids show is downright admirable tho. You think a kid is safe with the seamen. Airmen and soldiers? Absolutely.
Coolest wish ever! Coolest people involved in making this wish come true ever! God bless the wish maker & family & God bless the wish maker come true guys. I was blown away by this! I'm so very happy for that young man! I admit, at first I thought this was a wasted wish & how in the world could they possibly try to accommodate this wish. I figured "right, this poor kid is gonna get an all expense paid trip to a WW2 museum or something". But, after seeing this video, he has got style, class, imagination, a sense of adventure, and spirit etc. I am also blown away by how they accommodated this incredible dream. It's really inspiring! I'm so happy for him. I hope he is healthy & doing well.
Apparently make a wish people only give a crap about people with cancer(MOM tried to call them and explained that I have hydrocephalus and they basically said they don't CARE! I was crushed BEYOND belief!
ok im sorry 30 seconds in and it takes your child telling you they didnt have the energy to play to get you to take them to the hospital but your mother whos a nurse telling you all this shit prior means nothing?
Why does he want to do that?! Limited oxygen, planes weren’t pressurised, the planes weren’t armoured and the average temperature in the cockpit at several thousand feet would be negative 20 C, it was so cold that if they would touch a piece of metal their hand would freeze. Not a good wish Note: I still respect this kid ✊ and felt like I overreacted
Man, This guy is probably about my age right now...and here I am with only 2 friends, imagination and wooden Brodie helmets I made...Meh, still that must've been awesome!
Remember, it's not about how many friends ya have.....it's about how good of friends they are. It's way better to have 2 really, really good friends than it is to have a million friends who are only acquaintances. ;-) And imagination....if you have that, you're way ahead of a lot of people! Imagination is everything!
My wish would be... A WW2 German tanker in a Tiger tank at battle of kursk...or a rifle man in the battle for Berlin (or king tiger tanker) or Stalingrad... What can i say germans had the best tech and uniforms

Man, this would be my dream too, maybe slightly different, but very similar. Good to see the youth of America take interest in history. I hope this child is doing well.
What a bright little guy! I can totally see him as a soldier one day. I sincerely hope everything turned out well for him!
That was really neat to see.......... just wondering how this child is doing now. Boy what an experience to have had. And of course the Military did an excellent job.

A WWII FIGHTER PILOT? He’s basically asking to die? The estimated survival for Fighter pilots in war were just 4 weeks, AT MOST
My wish would be... A WW2 German tanker in a Tiger tank at battle of kursk...or a rifle man in the battle for Berlin (or king tiger tanker) or Stalingrad...
What can i say germans had the best tech and uniforms
The Jolly Johnson good thinking
You’re a good painter who killed
⭐💕🌠
HAH, CANT GO BACK IN TIME
Its nice tho, why not just be a modern fighter pilot, its better
obvious reincarnation is obvious
That's ww1 the plane
no its not. its a inter-war era plane that was used to train pilots during WW2 for basic landing and take off.
Brock Burr dude know what you are talking about before you comment that was used as a training plane in ww2
