If it’s a copy of the HKR bootleg that I own, does it also have the same points in the movie where the film skips a few seconds forward in some scenes? I think it’s because they mass recorded on cheap discs. I also recall my HKR version of The Killer being 2 discs with many version prints of the film, all commentaries, and bonus features. Aside from a few seconds being skipped every 15 minutes or so, the discs are great.
Be careful buying this. Just received it from Amazon and whilst the case/cover are the same, the disc isn't: It runs for 107 minutes when my HK Blu-ray runs for 111 minutes (back of the German case says 111 minutes), my UK HKL DVD is 107 minutes so I think it's PAL speedup, although the picture quality is the same. Mine has German 5.1, Cantonese 6.1 and Cantonese 7.1. All are quite quiet. Which funnily makes them nicer than the ott 5.1 on the HK Blu-ray. No Taiwan cut either. It looks like I've been sent a bootleg of a bootleg 😂. And it's going back. I've got the deleted scenes on my HKL DVD.
I have the HKR version but I got it from a seller on ebay .I will wait hopefully for eureka or 88 films or another boutique bluray company to release this fingers crossed
I've got this as an upgrade from the dog rough Dagon Dynasty blu ray and I'm sorry but I have no idea why people say this is worse. It's just not. Is it just a thing of whatever Cargo do, people call it wrong? I'm pretty happy with it.
Yes the game is Stranglehold. I ordered 4 films of Hong Kong Rescue and got all 4 delivered but I have heard so many bad stories about them. Good vid mate.

I liked the reverse cover of the DVD . It looked better , and wasn't a rip off of Resevoir Dogs lol . I got this bluray , along wit Hard Boiled , and City Wolf 2 recently .

£34 for a knockoff of a bootleg 🤣 Do they not have copyright law in German 🇩🇪 When I saw a clip of the movie on a late night video review show my tiny mind was blown 🤯 Had to rent the video the next day. I’ve got some great lobby cards from the MIHK cinema release. Will do a video on them at some point. The killer is in my top 3 Hong Kong movies. I managed to get the sally Yeh LP and CD featuring the songs from the film a few years ago. Great stuff.
Didn’t like this release at all. It’s an upscale. Dragon 🐉 dynasty has a better picture quality even though it’s 1080i. I really hope there’s a better version to be released in future.
