Fantastic choices, but I'm surprised that we didn't get the episode were the Smith's were being haunted by Francine's "satisfaction" because Stan couldn't get the job done.
There was a episode where they made a Steve clone to see who's the better parent. Turned out that the clone was evil, He would rip cats heads off and stuff them in his backpack...That was highly disturbing...
There’s this one episode of American Dad I thought would make the list as one of the scariest which is Poltergasm. The episode where Francine’s sexual frustration haunts the Smith house.
Much like how the Hot Tub was a planned final episode with a dark ending Courage the Cowardly Dog had one where his owners become puppets and he controls them to act out there lives .
Oh yeah, that was the season 1 finale, right? Glad it was able to continue and get to the actual finale Perfect. I remember the latter episode really well to this day
to be fair there recent Halloween episode of American Dad was a Scooby-Doo parody but to be frank it was a Much better Scooby-Doo Parody and had a much better Mystery then the Whole Velma Series (Side Note Anything is better then Velma)
Scooby-Doo the live action movie was the other thing Craig Ferguson was in that slipped my mind Dude you can finally go back to spin offs and other Scooby-Doo shows/movies that you hated and say well it was better than Velma
for me it was the episode where steve gets a puppy and uh...unfortunate things ensue. i guess it's not "scary" in the traditional sense but it made me really freaked out and upset when i saw it :( i'm usually not bothered by violence in cartoons but it was hard as hell to watch EDIT: glad to know basically everyone else was as uncomfortable as i was with it, lol. i think steve's reactions are what make it so disturbing for me-- he sounds so genuinely devastated, and understandably so
I literally cannot watch this episode due to pet trauma 😫😫 I listen to American Dad when I sleep so I go through it a lot and when I wake up to this one, I go scrambling for my phone to skip it. Hearing the breathing machine in the middle of the night kills me lol.
I loooved the episode “you are here” because i have a weird fixation on dead malls. I had no idea it was actually based on a documentary though, ill have to check it out lol
I think the most interesting part about rabbit ears is that every single character aside from Alister have all been hypnotised and are now stuck in there, its implied that the ‘show’ was made In the sixty’s so some of the people there could have been in there for decades
I'm pretty sure Hollywood is like 90% rapists so if it makes you feel any better most shows and movies you see have rapists... you know now that i type that i guess that probably wont make you feel any better. Good news is Ceelo is tiny so he's unlikely to succeed in future attempts, they just need to climb up on top of a chair to get out of reach of him.
I like the bisexual flag colors in the background. Also, a scary dude named Alastor hosting an old-time party? Is this where Vivziepop got the idea of Hazbin Hotel?
God I have stumbled upon the Kisses episode in my childhood and it traumatized me for years! I have been trying to find what kind of animated show it was from, but my memory was so fuzzy it was like a lost media for me for like a decade 😮 thank you now I can rest in piece like Kisses.
Great choices! There were even some I didn’t expect like The Three Fs on here but yeah that episode was insane, especially the ending. This show knows how to get scary, creepy and bizarre at the same time.
I think "Gold top nuts" is one of the most uncanny episodes. Not necessarily scary but the way they rebuild society based on a very small snippet of established culture that they morph into their own is just crazy.
a few episodes from american dad that I found creepy were. ( I don't remember the names to all of these ) The one where Stan gets Franchine locked into a mental asylum and it ends with them both getting lobotomized. (not a good episode but it stuck with me ) The one where Franchine learns that all of the vacations the family went on were generated by a tub of goo. Then when she demands that the family go on a real vacation it ends with them cannibalising steve's girlfriend. ( I love this episode so much ) The ending to this one is amazing with the family being told that they ended up on a island that does fake human hunts to scare people. I think this one is called "Gold top nuts." The episode is about the smiths getting stuck on a desert island & they rewatch the same commercial on loop for a prolonged period of time. Ending with them eventually escaping the island but becoming laughing stocks to the entire town after they leave. I also thought the episode where Rodger gets adopted by a overly abusive 10 year old to be pretty dark ( even if it's not supposed to be. I don't think ) I love whenever the show allows Rodger to go full Yandere on someone. He's just such a fun character especially when he is acting nuts.
For me the scariest episodes are between Rabbit Ears, Standard Deviation, and Enter the Stanman, but it's mostly because of my emetophobia as to why I find the episode Standard Deviation scary
Hey I found your channel and I’ve already watched 2 episodes but let me say, 1. Your production value is amazing 2. Your commantary is really good 3. Your overall persona is good 4. I just love this types of Channels. Your stuff is amazingly good I hope to see more of your videos and I’ll be here with you for the rest of the way
27:58 This episode was after the Rapture so I've always taken it as Stan retconning his own heaven, the multiverse just explains away the non canon episodes like Hot Water and the Santa/Krampus episodes but the Dog episodes were most definitely canon, the Fussy episode is the same episode with the Lady Bugs and the other Dog happened in the Golden Popp episode which was canon to the Rapture (and then not Canon in 300 but fuck it, Multiverse)
Tbh I would have thought kitty would have chosen that one episode where the smiths are being “hunted “ by these people after they hopped off the cruise ship because Francine thought she was in the goo. They thought they were gonna die, ended up eating a person and in the end it was just paintball hunt
I'd say Rabbit Ears; fav episode ever. I always get that theme stuck in my head and I set my computer to quadraphonic sound ( I seriously thought it was made up until I set up a microphone)
I will admit that I don’t think Francine is entirely content with being a housewife. She has literally stirred air in a pot with the lights off, and drinks to the point that she hallucinates her favourite female TV show celebrities as her friends.
Rabbit Ears in BEYOND the best episode. I love saying the entire line: “Fondue. Fondue! Bingo bango, hot cheese on tap! My wife! My wife, Fondue! No, Fondine FRANCINE!” Also the bedbugs joke makes me laugh.
10:08 Does anyone find weird that Hailey looks HOT in that Red Dress? she kind of gives me Jessica Rabbit vibes What? doesn't anyone here watched Who Framed Roger Rabbit? it's one of my all time favorite movies
Haley normally looks awesome when she's not in her original design. Idk her hair is different/ no headband and yeah she looks nice. 😂 My favorite is her business suit.
I think the scene where Stan accidentally overinflates his therapist with a leaf blower and he ruptures violently is probably the most disturbing to me; it’s still darkly funny tho, lol
Really good video essay. I think you were referring to Blame it on Jorge (Hor-hey) i like his videos talking about creepy kids shows like peppermint park.
I have a vivid memory of little 7 year old me watching the Hot Tub episode then sobbing because my child brain could not understand the ending. Like what do you mean they're just dead? That's the episode? Why??
I refuse to watch the "Kisses" episode after seeing it once. It is too horrific and I had block out the video for a bit while you went over it. It's too cruel.
Kitty Monk please do a Christmas ranking on the American Dad Christmas Episodes there Christmas episodes are Great and worth doing a Christmas ranking video
28:09 I know there is a Mutiversal theory in American Dad some where in the TBS Era of New Episodes but still they didn't even have a dog or instantly forget the next episode
Most women who live the role of a housewife do not spend the entirety of every day their partner is at work just cooking and cleaning. The standard work day is 8 hours, and many people work two jobs, or often take overtime to get a little bit of extra income when needed. The Smith house is 2 stories, living room, dining and kitchen, 3 beds, and an attic. The basement most likely sees minimal upkeeping since it's not decorated. Two of the bedrooms can be ignored because their children are old enough to clean their own spaces entirely on their own. And it's been established that Francine has a lot of hobbies. She probably spends and average of 2-3 hours cleaning, and another 2 cooking. She should easily have about 3-4 hours every day to unwind and have some time to herself before anyone gets home to annoy her, and she likely doesn't even start cooking until Steve and Hailey get home, so cross those 2 hours off, and she gets 5-6 hours of relaxation and self-care.
The show in the "Rabbit Ears" episode, "Nighthawk's Hideaway", is inspired by an actual tv program, " Playboy After Dark" hosted by Hugh Hefner, ahich was syndicated in the late 1950s, and even had a similar opening to "Nighthawk's Hideaway".
number 1 earned its title. as a kid I could watch horror movies with ease, but when I was like 12 that episode gave me a full on panic attack. the music, the guys voice, the creepy aura, the episode is ingrained in my mind.
Honestly my favourite season of AD is 8, mainly because of the hot tub episode, the music, the plot, that ending, the way it just falls apart at the end, no happy ending, nothing Edit: that or the boys12 episode, if connected with the one when B11 kills them all
Fun fact!! There's a radio show for the twilight zone, and there's an episode where this girl is creeped out by the mall, and the people working there are like stalking her, and she's losing her memory and turning into a mannequin and by the end of the episode, it turns out every month at that mall, each mannequin gets to turn human and live life as a human for a month but she had lost her memory of something so that why people were stalking her so the others can have their turn!! Highly recommend the twilight zone radio show, it's AMAZING!!
27:02 that Stan's Best Friend episode really rubs me the Wrong Way and gets Under My Skin as a Dog owner myself we should take better care for our Dogs because there NOT Just pets there part of the family plus seeing that poor Dog get killed by Cat Pirates revived and barely walking really rubs the WRONG Way plus I'd wouldn't trust a Quack of a Doctor nor have her fix my Car (NOT a fan of the episode and I HATE That Episode)
"That is right, American Dad is now a show that exists in the tv in the basement of the family of American Dad." I don't know why, but this really made me laugh.

I'm not joking when I say I never saw "Rabbit Ears" before this list. American Dad is one of my favorite shows of all time, but somehow I don't remember this episode. What season was this episode in?
27:43 why couldn't Stan's mother just take the dog to a shelter or take it to another Family that would take it would be less gruesome then having Stan shoot the Dog Old Yeller style I'm seriously against Dog Murders
6:50 Wait what? He doesn't sound like Craig Ferguson to me. I mean I guess he changed his voice but I used to watch the late late show with Craig Ferguson. Not that often I was more into late night with Conan O'Brien back in the day but Craig Ferguson he was a pretty funny talk show host from Scotland. Anyways yes you are correct He voiced a character in how to train Your dragon. He's also voiced many other roles.
Maybe Jumpers is like Michigan Jay Frog where he sings and preforms only when there’s one person around and drowns anyone in debt and sanity when they try to cash-in on his talent.

As a result of Stan's parenting.
He wouldn’t just put them in his bag…HE ATE THEM
Francines' Steve became lazy, and Stan's Steve became a serial killer.
@@BNK2442lazy chronic masturbator > serial killer
Did Stan unclone him in the end?
There’s this one episode of American Dad I thought would make the list as one of the scariest which is Poltergasm. The episode where Francine’s sexual frustration haunts the Smith house.
When the ghost Francine was on the washing machine was funny because it made you pay attention until the change. Good gotcha moment.
Kitty, can we get a holiday special video?
American Dad has a lot of great Christmas episodes.
IMO American Dad Christmas Episodes are almost like their Treehouse of Horror. They've just nailed the messed up Christmas stories.
@CaptainApathetic I liked the Hanukkah episode with Jewish Santa Roger but wonder what happened to Santa post revival.
Or the ten HAPPIEST episodes for Christmas or something
Love the Smith's messed up Christmas episodes

Let’s be real, a better version of eh kisses episode would be stan using cia tech to become a cat and go after the cat pirates John wick style
That inflection you use in your voice makes it sound like you're askikg questions when you're actually making statements
