Sankofa x, that's a heavy name you carry. Look into Permaculture if you have not already, it's a beautiful land use design science.........Peaceee, "De"
@@ade6219thanks De, I adopted that name for myself. loved the meaning behind it. I will def do some reading on Bill mollison, I also did a lot of research on permaculture about a few months back. when talking about raising livestock for self-sustenance or small based commerce, I was scared of the expenses of livestock feed, with permaculture I found out many cheap natural alternatives. for instance, Black soldier fly larvae(BSFL) can be easily grown for chicken and fish feeding. some people even rear worms and use them as feed. Although I haven't put most of these information into practice, I am mainly gaining knowledge I would use when I go back home.
SANKOFA x, it's all good ! When you say going back home, just where is that at ? I steward a Permaculture homestead village in rural West Central Georgia U,S.A. I, a left activist, former of the(BPP)created this base to find sustainable solutions for (ADOS)" American Descendants Of Slaves." In the early days I taught many persons the science of Permaculture, and that's a beautiful thing, but what was not so, was the fact that I can count on one hand the number of melanated persons that had the interest to be taught out of the hundreds of others! I'm for ever trying to change this. Sooo thus I like to make positive connections, and assist and exchange with others. So if I can help you, just let me know. And as well this applies to others too that are beyond the talk........Peacee brother.

When you could create your own PARADISE in Africa and LIVE in PEACE. Happy for the guy who make the move, but the thought that we are all supposed to drop everything and move to Africa is so unrealistic.

I will have my own garden as well and you have given me much information. It's an ambitious move, but this is something that I feel must be done for my family when they are ready to come. Even if it's not on the continent of Africa, there are so many places in the world where you can live with this same kind of tranquility. Wow! Just this weekend, I visited my aunt and cousins deep in very rural south Georgia (USA) where my mother's side of the family has lived for at least five generations. I had forgotten just how rural it was, with its vast acre upon acre of fertile Georgia soil. The road I grew up on was paved, but there are many dirt roads there still today. This man's homestead and rural property very much reminds me of my maternal family's home town. We had fruit trees, a garden, nut trees, etc., although both my parents had city jobs. They also keep a good garden hoe and a shot gun to kill the deadly southeastern rattle snakes we would encounter from time to time in our yard. It was an experience I can appreciate as an adult. As my ancestry is mostly west African, I can definitely see the appeal of rural Georgia to my forebears, as it looks so similar to where we originated in the Motherland. Peace, love, and blessings to my brethren who found the courage to retrace our ancestors' steps back to Africa.
Seeing his hard work and hearing his philosophies about life really resonates with me. I'm not sure that I will move to the continent because of the hoops you have to jump through but I'd love to visit and get a feel for the land. Thanks so much for this.

You are a beautiful and blessed family. KEEP SHARING PLEASE! ✌🏾💗🙏🏾
What he said about "visit first" is very important. Many feel right at home when they step foot in Ghana. But for others they have to roam the continent a little. Perhaps it may be Tanzania or Namibia or Rwanda instead. But the rule still remains. Visit and stay for a month like this man did then return home to think about the pros and cons of making the move as well as the logistics of making it happen. You know what they say, those who fail to plan plan to fail. Plan to succeed on making a life-changing move. Good luck on everything!

Love this video. I started building an earthbag house 11 years ago. Owen Geiger helped me w design. Got up about 4' then had to switch materials... labor intensive and after chemo...(I did not anticipate all that) it was just too tough, bags weighed over 100lbs. and it was hard to get a worker who could endure. I doubled bagged went two wide, used cracker dust and lime, barbed wire... so the perimeter walls started were 30" wide. Built a cistern, installed my own solar and plumbing. Planted maybe 20 different trees but challenged by marine environment few survived. So I have only coconut, papaya, Barbados cherry, mulberry, sapodilla, guava, governor's plum, moringa, chaya, neem trees which I had to cut down and remove from yard...And hundreds of silver palms which came w the property. Have garden w seasonable vegetables and have cultivated pineapples too. I understand his challenges...but all the hard work paid off w a nice, peaceful place to live w/in nature and much improved health.
This is definitively one of the top videos I’ve seen regarding experiences in moving to Africa in general. That man was so thoughtful in his responsive to questions. Wish all of you the best.
I am at a loss for words on how great this video is. Your channel is amazing, you guys are living the dream. Living in a place where you're a citizen and NOT a suspect. The brotha and his wife you featured in this video is truly inspirational.
I'm really happy to see our sisters and brothers moving back to the motherland. As a Ghanaian based in Europe, I strongly believe most of us can contribute in making Africa a good place for us all. I can understand the hustle, but still there're a lot of opportunities in Africa. Just look around Ghana/Africa and compare things you've seen or experience in the US or Europe. The next question or step is to brainstorm what can be done or transferred to fit the Ghanaian/African society. There's a lot of businesses, which can be set up out there. Re-settlement must be a long term plan and strategic, i.e. several visit to plan on which businesses are viable, long term savings, etc. I know most Ghanaians in US or Europe build a house in Ghana within a time frame depending/based on their finances. It can be between 1 - 10 years. When that's taken care of, the next step is saving to start a small business, etc. With that said, one must be careful with the corrupt ways in Africa. For businesses, go into areas where government officials involvement are very less.
This is exactly what I envision for me and my family in the near future. As GOD THE CREATOR would have it, I am moving to Ghana with my wife and 1 year old daughter for a fresh start. I hope and pray that the universe blesses us...AMEN!!!
Thank u for continuing to share your fanilies experience. That view is amazing!!! I'm currently planning my move and appreciate hearing messages that confirm what I've loosely planned.

Sankofa x, that's a heavy name you carry. That informative thinking that you speak of is called PERMACULTURE by some of us, and my mentor the late "Bill Mollison, and others taught me well; for which I pass on to others.
‘Your taking care of your economy’ never sounded so good!
I just realized I turned off my tv all day because it was a distraction while I watched Native Borne all day lol! #LoveThisChannel
What I liked the most was it is stress free. Don't have to worry about the hustle and bustle of the economy. Peace. Where they're located is a beautiful and peaceful site.

Beautiful tour! Brother and his queen are living their best life in Ghana.
I plan on moving out there in 5 years or less.
Me too, and I can’t wait!
This is what I had been telling brothers and sisters, why live in a country that terrifies you? Shoot a runaway villain in the back and claim civility? Continuous harassment and no justice. When you could create your own PARADISE in Africa and LIVE in PEACE. Just like that dude, I bought my own 3 acres land and it's 10 miles from the main city of the African country I live in, it takes me about 5 - 8 minutes from my land to the city, flying my bush plane the airspace always free, ATC is calm. I am self-sufficient and happy that's what we all strive for, HAPPINESS!
Respect..
This is a very good and informative video. Also, this guy is not only knowledgeable, but he’s funny 😄. Native borne, and all you guys who have moved to Africa, are brave and inspirational people whom I admire a lot.👊🏾
It is in Africans to have that spirit to put each other at ease.
Anubiez Black it’s also African spirit to not destroy nature but there are other groups on earth who are committed and addicted to destroying the environment for monetary gains

The guy (I forgot his name) is wise. He gave a lot of information that sometimes everyone wouldn't think about doing.
This is so inspiring to see our brothers and sisters connecting on the Motherland like this. I can’t wait to go back home in Cameroon to follow in your footsteps in the years to come.
make sure you do your research because since cameroon is a beautiful and resourceful country, europeans have targeted it, imported many guns and weapons and done their usual process of creating corruption and disfunction in the government. there might be some safer countries to look at

When you come to Ghana with such knowledge please don’t hide yourself.
The thing about Afrika is everything sold to you at a premium can be obtained off the land. Water, heat from the sun, electricity from the sun, you can grow natural food and most importantly live stress free.

We were super excited to meet Eric and his wife (Joyce) who gave us a tour of their land and their home which costs a little under $75,000, (land and home included). It was awesome to learn what goes into building a sustainable home in Ghana and the do's and don'ts. Brandon Rogers built their house and is the founder of MIGRATING CULTURE, an African/American design company in Ghana-West Africa. Check out his website for more info at migratingculture.org.
Wow, that is amazing, all of you are truly pioneers of a much talked about dream, if only things like this trended every once & a while on black twitter. Congrats, respect & salute.
Do you guys worry about the Chinese and American military ramping up on the continent?

Native Borne Nice video as usual from the sweetest couple!! I have a question on water tho bcoz he didn’t seem to mention anything about it..... How does he get his drinking water?? Rain or borehole 🤔
@Native Borne- I loved everything about this video. I would love to see more videos on eco-conscious sustainable living, permaculture, and natural buildings in Ghana.

Black people will never be respected unless we collectively develop the continent of Africa and build an economic system that caters for Africans. This is the only solution to racism, claiming to be black British, Caribbean or African American have not helped us for the pass 600 years. This gentleman has started that process, we must build infrastructures and be innovative rather than crying and blaming others. #Africapitalism
This post should be pinned.

I keep saying this... we just need one African black nation to win... just one, the rest will follow
Absolutely!!!!!!!!
I'm a proud Afro-Caribbean currently in the UK. The Blood, Sweat, Tears & BONES of my great++++ grandparents are on the beautiful island of Grenada. I know it was not their choice to be their; ( ofcourse we must never forget that) but they were, are we just supposed to forget their sacrifices. Happy for the guy who make the move, but the thought that we are all supposed to drop everything and move to Africa is so unrealistic.
Great documentary. This man is a repository of wisdom. He and his wife are making a positive mark in my native homeland.
Great video. It's encouraging to see that there are people out there that are not just dreaming but are living their dreams.

I am so inspired by this generation. I am single and in my 50s. I will visit Ghana for the Return to Ghana / Right to Abode Jubilee at the WEB DuBois Center in December 2018. Although I do not know anyone in Ghana, I do know that my ancestry is here and I have decided to move to Ghana in late 2019/early 2020 to own and operate a restaurant and guest house. I will have my own garden as well and you have given me much information. It's an ambitious move, but this is something that I feel must be done for my family when they are ready to come. I agree with my young King about the USA is headed for trouble and we must look out for our future. I would love to meet this couple on my visit next month and to form a support group. Thank you so much for this informative visit. What a beautiful couple! WE'RE COMING HOME AFRIKA!!! WE'RE FINALLY COMING HOME!!!

EXCELLENT advice and testimony! They are beautiful people with a beautiful farm and home! His wife should really consider marketing her organic farming products. She seems to be very gifted in that area and that beet juice looks absolutely DELICIOUS! Thanks for sharing!
Peace, love, and blessings to my brethren who found the courage to retrace our ancestors' steps back to Africa.
lol, the drive reminded me of some of the country roads in Jamaica,

What he said about "visit first" is very important. Many feel right at home when they step foot in Ghana. But for others they have to roam the continent a little. Perhaps it may be Tanzania or Namibia or Rwanda instead. But the rule still remains. Visit and stay for a month like this man did then return home to think about the pros and cons of making the move as well as the logistics of making it happen. You know what they say, those who fail to plan plan to fail. Plan to succeed on making a life-changing move. Good luck on everything!
Im Ready Im already saving for years...And Im a barber it would be great to take my skills to Africa..
When do you plan to visit

@Service Three - Yes Southern Africa is colder than parts of the US because its towards the South Pole... It snows down there
@Service Three I'm a subby because I want to learn. Thanking God for UA-cam which allows me the ability to enrich my, "ignorant" as you called me, mind. As most know, Americans are not taught OURstory, it's HIStory, which is why I love taking this life journey with the Native Borne Family.
Furthermore, my point about the kitchen was to compliment and show my pleasure in seeing that it is no different than many kitchens in the US...which is my only frame of reference. I hope you understand.

Great move...The government has incentives under way for people venturing into agriculture.
Wonderful
True definition of nature...big ups native borne family
