This song breaks my heart..idk but out of all the disney songs there are this one always makes me cry. I guess it's because it reminds me of a time that will never be mine again
You just put my feelings into words... I miss my younger self so much, when the world was innocent and I always believed that someday Peter would come and scoop me out of bed and fly me to Neverland. I watched this movie so many times (at least once every couple days), dressed up as Tinkerbell and carried a little pot of “fairy dust” with me wherever I went. I would write Peter letters and throw them out the window each night, pray for him to find me, even search my grandparents’ house to find the key for my guest bedroom window. And now I can never go back to that...
The second star to the right Shines in the night for you To tell you that the dreams you plan Really can come true The second star to the right Shines with a light that's rare And if it's Never Land you need Its light will lead you there Twinkle, twinkle little star So we'll know where you are Gleaming in the skies above Lead us to the land we dream of And when our journey is through Each time we say "Goodnight" We'll thank the little star that shines The second from the right
How many kids legit left their window open for Peter Pan? I didn't because of Peter Pan 2 where Hook opened the window with his hook. I figured, hey if I get kidnapped by pirates Peter will save me. I'll just leave the window closed. But I'm curious how many legit left the window open?
I think Peter pan is the tale with the most feelings. this sassy boy with the red hair lets you dive Into a world full of fun and feelings. I love it..and ill love Peter for eternity
I think return to Neverland would be a great movie to get revamped into a live action film. The plot itself is pretty strong. They could take the chance to show how Neverland made Wendy a strong woman during WWII, and I think kids might find Jane a little relatable. Replace that stupid squid with the croc, and make sure Hook has a very adult and reasonable argument to convince her to betray Peter.
Megumi Goose well the argument he used was good enough already. if you were a kid wanting to return home, and everyone around you was a irresponsible kid aswell. its natural you would listen to the only other adult around.
Hook needs to be a complex and real person, rather than a comical and unrealistic villain. He can still be evil, still be on the wrong side of it all, but he needs to represent what he did in the book, the harsh and ever present fact that childhood doesn't last forever. That no matter where you run, reality catches up to you. I always saw the rivalry between Peter and Hook like that. Peter represents childhood and foolish hopes, and Hook represents maturity and the fact that you will eventually have to set aside your hopes and face reality.
I am in Australia. My daughter was a singer and a dancer right through her school years and for some time after. She took music-singing for her Higher School Certificate at the end of year 12. She was nowhere as confident at singing as she was at dancing. Dancing took her to New York and a season with the Australian Ballet under the direction of Graeme Murphy. She had to sing three songs acapella in front of three examiners for the assessment. They would start by asking why she chose each song, There was a song from Andrew Llyod Webber and from Rogers and Hammerstein. She was very strong with numbers from musicals. But so was everyone else. She chose this song. She chose it because it was about dreams and fairies and what a beautiful story, one she hopes to sing to her children when she has them. Its actually a very difficult sone to sing well. She finally got over the emotion to sing it for the third choice in the assessment. Myself and her two music teachers were waiting in the corridor, listening. She said she wanted to sing it first because of the story behind it. It took her two goes to sing it cleanly and beautifully. The adjudicators smiled. They asked her why she chose it. She said that her dad - me, had a few months previously stuck three stars on the ceiling above her bed so that when she went to bed, when it all seemed so difficult, that "the second star to the right" was indeed shining down on her. There was a silence beyond the door. I opened the door to see if everyone was ok. Well there was my daughter in tears being hugged by the adjudicators, also in tears. Then me and then her music teacher as well. It was and remains the most moving and important day in my long life. They gave my daughter two 8s and a 10 for this song.

Peter Pan , my dear old man . I used to stare out of my window at the stars , waiting for you to come and whisk me away from all my problems, the bullies , the feeling of not knowing who I was , the humiliation I endured. You never came but you gave me hope , that with a bit of faith , trust and pixie dust , I would make it through
"Each time we say goodbye" Is the part where people there tears are falling.. but dont want to think about it yet, i am living now and enjoying it. I can say i am a little afraid of it, to die. Cause i dont want to die. I always had that feeling.
The tune was originally written for Alice in Wonderland. They replaced it with "A World of My Own". The tune's original name was "Beyond the Laughing Sky". The original words were: Why does the whispering wind sound like a lullaby? Is that the magic music from Beyond the Laughing Sky? Why can't the swallows remain? Where is the place they fly? Why Can't I go along with them, Beyond the Laughing Sky? If I climbed the highest tree, where oh where would I be? Would I find a place for me in the land of grand enchantment. Where do the clouds disappear when they go rolling by? I'm wondering about the world Beyond the Laughing Sky. There was a beautiful demo of it sung by Gloria Donovan, made at the time of producing Alice in Wonderland. They needed a tune for Peter Pan and used this.
This song will forever remind me of my first born son who’s no longer here. I know he’s amongst the stars, “the second to the right”, watching over his little sisters.🥰❤️ playing it not to soothe his little sisters off to sleep ❤️
I'm sorry for your loss. I know the pain of losing a beloved pet from experience. So advice I can give you is to look at it this way. In your case, guinea pigs don't really live that long (5-7 years at most). But while your guinea pig may not have been around that long for you, you were there for pretty much its whole life depending on how old it was when you got it. So while it was only a fraction of your life, you were it's forever. As a result, you gave it a lifetime of good memories to cherish for all eternity in the afterlife. In my case, my dog, Honeybear, died in May of 2018. However, I gave him a really good life. We got him when he was in his later life after he was giving away by a family whose kids abused him. It took a while, but when we gained his trust, he had the greatest final 5 years of his life imaginable. We spoiled him rotten! But yeah, that's my main mental comfort when it comes to his death. He passed away of natural causes at the very old age of 12 years old. And considering he had congestive heart failure in his final couple years, that's pretty old for a Teacup Pomeranian. One final thing, look up a poem called "The Rainbow Bridge". Trust me, it will be worth your time reading it. It's primarily for dogs, but I imagine the same applies to pretty much all pets. i hope, one day, when the time comes, we all will be able to find our own neverland. a place where's no time, where you can be a child forever, a place full of happiness and adventurers. and by the way: growing up is a waste of time:-)
The most heartbreaking part of growing up is realizing that you no longer imagine fairy tales. You've forgotten about it, no longer sing songs about twinkling little stars, and forgotten about your old bed buddies, teddy bears, pink blankets, and beloved lullabies. You've really lost all your magic.

This is heavenly. I have no words. I have never felt this way about a song before … thank you so much. This work is priceless. No words. Amazement. And heartbeating.

Absolutely breathtaking. This brings me back to my childhood days; dreaming of magical lands, fairies and other fantastical creatures, and princes who would whisk me off away from the dullness of reality. I really love your work, please don't ever stop making music.
The nostalgia is so much that just by listening to it I remember the last time I spent Christmas with my loved ones, the last time I felt my warm bed, the last time I went on an excursion with my friends, there are so many memories of which I only feel them in dreams :)
One thing I remember my mum telling me after my cat died when I was a child was that she'd gone to Neverland, and was there waiting for me...Just hearing this is making me tear up. ;-;
This song has always had such a special place in my heart, somehow it has always been one of my "safe place songs" and I came back to it just as a mental reassurance to calm my mental state down, thinking about everything that is going on in Ukraine and very close to my country's borders. I just hope history won't repeat itself.
I'm 18 now and I still love the movie so much. I reminds me of my childhood when me and my little sister used to fight like pirates too. It's so much fun. I want to go back but it's impossible. not to mention that peter was my first crush xD
i get pretty emotional listening to this
love it💕
Veronika Götz oh my god, same 😭 both the live action peter pan and animated one were my first crushes too, as embarrassing as it is
Michaela Murillo I loved them both. I even pretended he was real. we would tell each other stories and swordfight each other. then he would take me to never land where we would defeat captain Hook and those awful pirates.
Thank you
This honestly would be a great arrangement to walk down the isle to.
Looking further down in the comments I found an old comment of mine saying the same thing. Younger me knows what’s up.
0:51 gets me everytime
My heart...
Great job SamYungOfficial! One of the best covers I've heard.
I'm in tears.
god bless bobby driscoll and the 100% he put into playing not only Peter pan for Disney but in every role he starred in. You were taken from the world too soon but you will never ever be forgotten by the people who know your story. I hope your finally at peace xxx❤

The second star to the right
Shines in the night for you
To tell you that the dreams you plan
Really can come true
The second star to the right
Shines with a light thats rare
And if it's Never Land you need
It's light will lead you there
Twinkle, twinkle little star
So I'll know where you are
Gleaming in the skies above
Lead us to the land I dream of
And when our journey is through
Each time we say "Goodnight"
We'll thank the little star that shines
This is so beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing your music!
