Always love your interviews Xiao Zhan! There are very insightful and wonderful answers that make you think about. So cool you observe people on the set around you! For animators or storytelling it, observing others' behaviors and personality is a great tool in portraying characters like you said! People watching is also a great past time that works with the invisibility spell or power. You can quietly watch the scenery of people doing everything things. Also, yeah I agree it is great a way to go shopping and touring a fave place for fun in a peaceful relaxing way.
Your character Shi Ying in the drama The Longest Promise is great to see how he his personality changes a bit, by opening up more to other people but still remain resolute/steadfast to his beliefs in protecting the people of Kongsang!
One director pointed out they had been a bit concerned about having a pop star in the role and yet from the moment Xiao Zhan showed up he was so impressed. Particularly he mentioned how Xiao Zhan had arrived early and prepared but also how he had also done days of research physically observing characters in that field, watching their pattern of work, theyr oace, their mannerisms and spoke to them to find out what drew them to that field and what their daily concerns were and how the obligations of their tasks weighed on them but also how they felt they were treated by others and how this effected them. All things that the director felt really added to the depth of the portrayal in Xiao zhans role. The director felt it was very refreshing to see someone so invested in their role but also to really want to get into the headspace of the character and what motivated them. As many have, this director also pointed out how willing Xiao Zhan was to try different things photographically from different perspectives and worked as a team member with the other cast members in a very humble manner not as though he was the big star. Also the other thing she mentioned was how many actors just show up to do their scene and then they are out if there but Xiao Zhan on the other hand hung around abd ate with the set crew sitting in the curb where they were shooting, just simple fare but it meant a lot to them that he stayed and hung out with them and hit to know them all by name and that later he took the time to thank them all for their hard work. The director pointed out they had not even known Xiao Zhan was a photographer himself before that but they commented after he was gone on what a great eye he had for perspective, contrast and lighting and it was rare to see someone so knowledgeable who is an actor. He even helped them box up supplies and load things after they were done. He was so much more than I expected but also more than everyone expected I think. He was really a pleasure to work with and as a result everything went so well”. When Xiao Zhan started out he went frm winning on X-Fire to being in XNINE as a lead singer and then became a household name known overnight with millions of fans both in China and in 58 countries around the world. However if anyone has really followed Xiao Zhan from his first interview while still on X-Fire to today you realize Xiao Zhan knew what he wanted to accomplish with any game he garnered if he ever did win a spot on X-Fire and went on to have a career in acting as he hoped for. Xiao Zhan was humble, respectful but also so very genuine and sincere then, without taking himself to seriously. He laid out the path on life he hoped for but he had already succeeded as an artist, photographer, graphic artist, campaign and brand specialist before he decided to teach for a career in acting. At heart Xiao Zhan is both a very well thought out planner but also a visionary and a dreamer who is willing to work as hard as possible and then some more to realize his dreams but also Xiao Zhan knew with such clarity what he wanted to accomplish and what he wanted his own brand to be. He also really liked people and immediately connected with fans of all ages and all walks of life. I know he had an understanding of the jealousy and backbiting nature of the industry he was going into but I think being as good natured as he is he could never imagine really how bad it really could be or how even his fans and massive popularity would be at a point used against him. I think still to this day that has been the hardest thing for him to work around. Thank goodness however that wonderful perseverance, tenacity, determination and goal oriented nature of his did not falter and it kept him moving forward. Because out of every celebrity I have seen in my life Xiao Zhan is the one I root for the most and the one that I can always count on to put a smile on my face. Xiao Zhan is so interesting and unique but also so legendary in his own right for the many things he has already accomplished. He has accomplished things that others have spent thirty years trying and yet he accomplished it less than five. He is an inspiration in so many ways. I also love how he somehow manages to incorporate his own ideals, those he spoke on in the first interview I saw him in…into everything he does. Even his fan base follows an image he spoke on in his first interview and that he did a picture of when he was making his decision to go on X-Fire. Xiao Zhan was then and still is very much more than a talent. He is a planner, a person who really puts a lot of thought into everything he does and embeds anything he is in or puts out or bares his name, with the very things he values about them. He is also an architect of what he hoped to create and a visionary who can really see what is possible on a wide scale and bring that vision to life. To be able to do any of those things in the time Xiao Zhan has… is just pretty amazing but he has done them as an actor and a singer but also as a celebrity as well. Really crossing three fronts of success. I think the people who overlooked Xiao Zhan and missed that keen edge, sharpness and sense of vision he has must have been nodding off at the time. I have enjoyed each and every performance I have seen of Xiao Zhans and every role he has been in! What a profound interview. Xiao Zhan demonstrated what it means to be a true performer in this industry. He takes the time to collaborate with every screenwriter, director, and producer of each of his dramas to extract their interpretation of their expectation of the characters he's portraying. He's not reluctant to share his thoughts with them and integrating small elements into his characters to show a more believable persona. Very thought provoking and sincere. Clearly Xiao Zhan is the real deal and is on a one-way trajectory for continued success.
I love listening to Xiao Zhan in interviews because he always comes across so ernest and genuine, sharing his perspective on things and really coming across so clearly. This impressed me about Xiao Zhan from the very first interview I saw him in, while he was still on X-Fire and not only had no idea if he would win one of the final spots still but also was really continuously harshly being critiqued because he had not gone to college for acting, singing or dancing. Where so many of the other competitors had, so they were constantly on him, pointing out how much harder he would have to work than others if he hoped to win or make a career in this field. However despite that (even by the time of this interview I watched) Xiao Zhan was an audience favorite with parents, grandparents, school kids, young working single women and men, teens, couples and of pretty much every demographic including international fans who didn’t even know what X-FIRE was, but just on seeing clips of Xiao Zhan performing, that were circulating online…they too wanted to see more of him! How anyone couldn’t tell Xiao Zhan was destined to be a star even then, I don’t know! To this day, Xiao Zhan so clearly works to make sure he not only creates the character the director and writer envision but one that reflects the ideals he values within the character. He is one of those people who really is always speaking to his audience and fans through every song lyric he selects and sings, through every role he picks and portrays, through every piece of art he creates and every message he sends out to fans and every brand he promotes but especially in words he shares on things like interviews. I love to hear authors, directors and mentors who have worked with Xiao Zhan comment on him. They always have really interesting and almost poetic things to say about him in some cases. One of these I was practically moved to tears by as they spoke, because their words were so poignant. The director said “to direct Xiao Zhan in a scene is like looking through a window into his soul. He allows you that and he allows the camera to capture that moment. It’s very rare. It’s kind of amazing actually. It’s something unforgettable.” Afterwards the person just paused as though they were moved themselves, thinking back on a particular scene. Then they said “it’s something many are not capable of but when you see it…you feel awe in the moment and lucky to have captured it on film.” They’ve also each commented on how far Xiao Zhan is willing to go to get the most out of a scene to really embody the heart rending nature of the moment. That includes doing the scene as many times as it takes, to filming late at night or reshooting to capture better light or whatever it takes and they all have spoken on how collaboratively Xiao Zhan is willing to work to ensure he truly embodies the directors vision but also how he comes to the table with insights and research of his own to add to the characters perspective. I think that depth shows in every character Xiao Zhan portrays. Even in one that is very stoic in nature, you still see the conflict within him, and his convictions, only in more subtle ways. I love how Xiao Zhan does such a good job of stepping into a character and wrapping himself within it and becoming that character so completely! I look forward to each role he plays and “The Longest Promise” is one more accomplishment I am so happy to get to watch! Eigentlich bin ich eine vielbeschäftigte Frau. Aber ich nehme mir immer eine Auszeit, um Xiao Chan Lieder zu hören und seine Dramen anzusehen. Es macht mich nicht langweilig und müde, 🙂
ZhanZhan es increible, tanto como ser humano y como actor. Como actor se adentra en el personaje de tal manera que lo hace parte suyo, lo estudia y profundiza en sus sentimientos, así es como logra conocerlo y adaptarlo a su yo. Muy profesional pero a la vez muy personal, ya que cada personaje se lleva una parte de él y viceversa.
Así como ShiYing, todos creían que era un personaje frio y serio, pero es una persona que ama demasiado, llena de dudas con las que lucha día a día, siempre pensando por el futuro de su gente y en el cruel destino.
Sin duda ZhanZhan llegara lejos en el mundo de la actuación, tiene todo lo necesario para triunfar y nos tiene a nosotras para seguir apoyandolo siempre 👍🐰❤️💞

I love “The Longest Promise” and get excited to see each episode, when it comes out on Netflix! Xiao Zhan is so awesome in this role and has created another awesome character that I love so much! I also love that they cast such a good array of interesting characters, subplots and intrigue all around him and I love that they are giving multiple characters to also develop their own backstories and relationships in relation to the subplots that surround him. It’s like he is the purity of the sun and the moon, with the constellation of characters and plot lines flowing around him as the major character and the main plot line. Each actor and actress with their own personal desires for fame, love, power, to make a name for themselves amongst the intrigue, while Xiao Zhan remains above them all, trying to maintain the path he was raised to believe in. Even his master has his own political ambition for him and his own thirst for revenge he wants Xiao Zhan to step forward toward and fulfill. Xiao Zhan on the other hand wants to only use his powers for good and he only wants to share his skills and train someone like himself, who wants to use their power for good as well. I love that inherent goodness within his character even as his master pushes him toward a path of revenge and the power justly due him because of his birthright he was denied. ❤️👏❤️👏❤️👏❤️👏❤️👏❤️👏❤️👏❤️
