This is probably the largest plane I’ve flown in 2024. And it’s one of my favorites. This is the variant I fly, too. I like the “flying, floating RV” feel of it. I had some fun with the cockpit “sunroof” hatches. My mom doesn’t fly flight sims, but likes to see things in VR, so I loaded this plane in cold and dark on the water, and made sure the roof hatches were open. I set up the VR headset on her, and let her look around a bit, taking in the tranquil ambience. Then I asked her to stand up, which she did, and ended up looking out the roof hatch. I’m not sure if it’s real or just imaginary, but things sound different when your head is poking out that hatch, and you can almost feel the sun on your face. She very nearly fell back down again from the shock, and the being-there sensation. Also I know that Captain Whiskers isn’t in 2024 at all, but I’m not sure that this plane is set up for copilots, in general. At least, I’ve not seen my own copilot, Nadine, show up in this aircraft, but she’s in most of the other ones (that actually have a copilot seat).
Another great flight test! Thank you! A couple notes: your snake comment reminds me of Indy's comment: "Snakes. Why does it always have to be snakes?" Man, they sure got some big ones in Florida, too! Also, have you ever seen the movie "The Expendables?" The star of the first Expendables movie was that Albatross they used to fly to their missions. Way freakin' cool.
It's 1944, an Australian Coast Watcher on the island of Rabaul desperately needs replacement batteries for his radio and the Japanese are closing in. Low flying and a zigzag flight path are required here plus a real quick turn around lest your Grumman looks like swiss cheese. Ohh great video again thanks AV.
Another fun flight you took us along on, thank you! I will say that I will now need to figure out how to get coffee and (to use the British word) bogeys out of my keyboard after the "This is where someone's been murdered", but so worth it 🤣 Edit to add: Missionary Bush Pilot has some really fantastic flights he takes in PNG in his Caravan, I wonder if Pablo would like to do some good work there too?
I was intimidated by the size of this one but you’ve convinced me to try it. I do wish someone would do a Hemisphere Dancer livery for it (Jimmy Buffett’s plane), but there may be some sort of legal issue with that. Beautiful scenery and a fun flight 😊
Oh man, I really enjoy flying the albatross. The only issue that I've had with the g1000 varient is not being able to send my route from the EFB to FLP. Have you, or anyone else experienced this problem?
Awesome vid as usual. Thanks for posting. Q: can you pre-position the aircraft before starting? I ask because often aircraft in the sim are positioned nose close to buildings, obstacles etc.
Well, you could start from somewhere in Bogata, but where you land will probably be somewhere quiet off the west coast of California.................................

Hey there. Love your vids. I feel bad for not commenting. Had a rough year. I do love these old classic props.
I hope it gets better! xx
Really enjoyed the flight! Thanks for the video. :)

My kinda flight and aircraft. Thank you!
Pretty sure that coney thing on the prop is for the extra pitch needed to put the props in beta
Probably!
Imagine if Black Square released an analog version of this beast😍
I would be... very pleased.... but we do have an analogue version :D It's included :D

Great video, though you might want to re-read your description for the video. It states that you are in McCarthy Ak which was your last video. Cheers!
What... No Crocigators?
Awesome vid as usual.
Thanks for posting.

you could recreate the Rum running smuggling from Canada to USA... but using period aircraft.... or smuggling Kinder eggs in to USA....
I'm sorry if I missed it, but who made this aircraft? Asobo?, iniBuilds?
Mike Johnson (Aussie developer iirc) it's in the Deluxe edition of 24 as a first party dev.
STOP it. my porch light here keeps flashing!!!!!
