Believe it or not, but I find Eric's drumming way more impressive on this smaller drum kit than on the biggest one he used to play on those big electric shows. Awesome fills and groove.
This whole thing was a technical nightmare for Eric Singer: Paul counted off the beginning while he was still doing some fine adjustments to his hi-hat, and it looked like he had some other problems to deal with. (Maybe something to do with his in-ear monitor, or the tom-tom also having to be tightened.) But damn it, as pissed off as he looked, the guy kept playing!
@@rpena8563 -- He never dropped a beat. That's all that mattered. He was trying to convey signals to some obviously deaf-as-fuck and also stupid-as-fuck foldback guys.
@@DunmoresMovieMania true but still not cool I’m sure they all try to do the best they can. And as far as his talent there is no denying. Is he usually known for having a temper? I think Tommy seems nice and humble
@@rpena8563 -- See, that's the thing - Eric is known for being a cool dude, so for him to blow a fuse means they were doing a REALLY piss-poor job. And I've worked with monitor guys all my life - you can tell the good ones from the bad ones - all it takes is a few gestures from a musician for a good monitor guy to know what the musician needs and how to provide it - Eric AND Gene were gesturing like mad and the monitor guys couldn't seem to get their act together. So I've got no sympathy for them.
If you watch very carefully, Gene signals for more fold back volume! Shortly after Eric gives Gene a wtf look. They play a bit more and Eric signals to have Paul and fake Ace volumes up. Gene keeps blasting and then Eric starts to get angry. The camera looks at Gene and Eric has another wtf look. Shortly after he loses it, he's had enough of Genes blasting Bass. Eric gives up, Gene keeps playing loud and Eric has a final dig at Gene at the end of the song. And to top it off the baby drum set was not set up correctly and I can only assume the sound guy was sacked. And the show just goes on as Eric tries to get his drums set up correctly. Paul has no idea of the unfolding drama. Like true pro's they play through a rushed nightmare set up. Kiss, a truly experienced band. I love this video for all the above reasons.
Talk about an impromptu performance! Eric does extremely well. Paul should have checked with Eric if all was good to go. No i think it's good to see Eric's reactions just an entertaining and informative insight.
infoguy1978 No just old age because as we age our vocal chords weaken and become more dry and Paul is nearly 70. Sadly it is part of the natural process of ageing
Relax Eric, I know you guys are professionals, but this is just an unplugged session, just chillin' and having a good time, don't think the in-ears are necessary at all, take them off and enjoy the music.
@@LinkRocks -- It's more about having a manageable sound onstage. If you hear a shitty mix, you can't perform. Period. He's telling the idiot foldback guys to turn up Paul's and Tommy's monitors and to turn down Gene's monitor. All in HIS headset, mind you, not for the guys out front, or for the audience, who are hearing a totally different mix. There was obviously no time to do a soundcheck, but the techs obviously had a shitty mix in his send.
I understand that he gets pissed, a drummer needs to hear all the instruments equally loud to be able to make it sound good with the drums. And yes it's in front of a small crowd but that doesn't mean that the quality of the music should be less than expected. 10 or 45k people, doesn't matter.. it should be perfect.
I thought Eric was going to throw those drumsticks lol. He looked upset but it looks like he handled it in a pro manner. No cursing, yelling, pushing, attacking, or name calling was herd or seen. I wouldn't judge him because I'd be frustrated if I were in his shoes. Seems like he's a drum and sound stickler.
Bass was too loud and he couldn't hear anything other than it. He kept telling the sound guy to turn it down, but he wouldn't do it. So he got super pissed
I like Eric Singer and the fact that he is the BEST musician in KISS and that he pushes them musically. Tommy Thayer is the YES man, but Eric will call them out with their bullsh!t. The Revenge line up was their best, but Tommy plays Ace's parts clean, as Ace plays extremely sloppy and shows his 'Wet Brain' due to his substance abuse + his age. I didn't grow up with KISS so I just like to hear my favorite songs played right. All 70's stuff though (90%)
Eric great drummer but that fill at 3.25 just did not work. Trying to complicate Kiss songs does not work and is why Peter was so great for the early years.
Paul looks great. Sounds like shit, but that’s ok.. His health should be more important than his voice at his age. He made his money and left his mark on rock and roll history. It is what it is.
Almost everyone loves Ace, but Peter? That guy was lucky to be in Kiss in the first place and hasn't done anything significant since his departure. At all. Even Ace doesn't play with him. Ask yourself why that is, my friend.
It's ok that some people like Peter. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But Kiss has been around for over 40 years, and Peter was involved in 5-8 years of that, depending on how you want to calculate it. Eric Carr's drums on I Love It Loud are some of the best ever recorded. There is no way Peter could have competed with other drummers in the 80's. Peter proved it by doing nothing significant since his heyday in Kiss (1973-1978). Other than Beth, which Peter Criss co-wrote with Stan Penridge and the great Bob Ezrin, he never wrote another song that became a hit. Offhand, I can't think of any Kiss song that he ever wrote by himself. In contrast, during the time Peter was in the band, Paul Stanley INDEPENDENTLY wrote Firehouse, Black Diamond (which a producer wanted Criss to sing vocals on), Got to Choose, Hotter Than Hell, Let Me Go, Rock 'n Roll (lead vox by Simmons), Mainline (lead vox by Criss), C'mon and Love Me, Lover Her All I Can, God of Thunder (lead vox by Simmons), I Want You, Hard Luck Woman (lead vox by Criss), I Stole Your Love, Love Gun, and Magic, Touch. I won't get into the remaining hit songs Paul co-wrote. Peter's 1978 solo album was the least Kiss-like because he was the least contributor to Kiss. His drumming was mediocre at best, and any drummer could have filled in, as was evident in 1979's Dynasty and 1980's Unmasked, when many didn't even notice that there was a different drummer playing on the recordings (the lone exception being the Dynasty song Dirty Livin'). We are both Kiss fans, and it's great you like Peter. But let's not give credit where it is not due. Eric Carr and Eric Singer made/make the band much tighter and more "rock 'n' roll" then it ever was with Peter, who was a self-proclaimed jazz drummer. But I do appreciate him as a founding member who initially worked hard to get the band going.
Eric Primero estaba pelotudeando ,con los auriculares, después no acomoda la batería. Entra de pedo al comienzo del tema y después se pelea con el sonidista. Sacate esos auriculares boludo se escucha todo bien.....
Paul hasn't changed in 22 years? Really? Go listen to Unplugged and then DON'T come back home and listen to this garbage. Retire already, you've lost it!
No one tops Eric Singer. Get angry about the makeup all you want, the guy is fucking amazing.
Believe it or not, but I find Eric's drumming way more impressive on this smaller drum kit than on the biggest one he used to play on those big electric shows. Awesome fills and groove.
Raph Rock - yeah certainly sounds awesome to me too! Great to watch him play as well!
Raph Rock yeah! Damn it he plays awsome, I prefiere to see in that way. Great drummer,
Raph Rock may be because he looks very angry. But yeah, I enjoy to much see him plays in this way.
totally agree, his grove is amazing and his fills are also amazing
Me too
Me encanta esta canción! 🎼🎼🎶 💖
Thx for sharing!
They always put in 100%.
Life long Kiss fan...that was really hard to listen too
Gene was having fun at Eric's expense

Excellent reaction time Eric since Paul didn't check if you were ready to go.

Eric getting progressively pissed is the best part of this vid.
Hahahaha, I don't see no fake Ace. But I do see a fake KISS fan.
Hard to be a "fake Ace" when you act nothing like the guy. Tommy is the exact opposite of Ace.
Tommy Thayer Is really way better than Ace Frehley
Hahaha!I LOVE YA ERIC!!
4:14 best thing ever
damn eric singer makes that little set seem like hes playing on one of his kits on tour.
Steve Whitney I
Àwesome first concert! Relax Eric! Paul is and having fun !
COOL ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The Best group in the histoty ofrece the World you wanted the Best is KISS
Eric wants gene down and Paul up 😂😂
IMPREESIONANTE!!!
Does anyone know what kind of guitar is paul playing?? Sounds sooo good and it isn't even an acoustic guitar...
Well Kiss rocked the house in Erie Pa.Aug.2016
Tracy Chavis gene and Paul's kiss tribute band must have.
this is what rips paul's voice. meet and greet sessions.
infoguy1978 No just old age because as we age our vocal chords weaken and become more dry and Paul is nearly 70. Sadly it is part of the natural process of ageing
paul's voice works here acoustically...but not live with the full show...
Relax Eric, I know you guys are professionals, but this is just an unplugged session, just chillin' and having a good time, don't think the in-ears are necessary at all, take them off and enjoy the music.
For them it's making money, not really chilling... They can chill as long as they want elsewhere...
He wants the band to sound as best as possible. The fans there paid good money to see this show, so kudos to Eric for making sure they got good sound.
There's no small audience, my boy. 😉

I bought a meet and greet to the Ottawa show in 13. They cancelled it...Concert still went on though...Why they cancelled it, I don't know...
Paul's doing OK here.
Epic group love kiss
About as awesome as digging one's eyes out with spoons, then pouring lemon juice into the empty sockets.
Eric is pissed
mark lee ... alot of shows ive seen eric is never happy with the sound. last tour here he was throwing sticks at the engineer ...lol
He was just told Peter is coming back home to Kiss ;)
Yeah and Paul noticed lol.
He seems to just always play with a stoned serious face. I don’t think he’s necessarily mad.
Did Gene walk into the post at 0:14 and drop the strap at 0:30?
pretty sure he was fucking around lol
Great performance and funny comments. Eric was not a happy camper lol.

Think Eric wants it turned down ?
Gene has a nice bass guitar
"Good Kiss Song"
hahaha Eric propper getting angry at the drum tech!
where was this shot at?
"How many of you have been to our meet and greets before?" (Silence) Yeah, what response do you expect when it costs a million bucks for one?
I honestly didn’t know that Genes bass licks were that thorough.
Eric seems happy..
LoL Eric seems pissed

Eric tocando com essa batera toca mais que o peter com o conjunto inteiro kkk
Pode crer, é ele está emputecido que ele não estava ouvindo o retorno do baixo, estava no escuro kkkk
Gene hit the pillar @ 00:14 sec of the video and being guided by someone. He must be punch drunk. Lol.
Paul keeps pushing the "we're not really playing" and "we're lip synching" jokes.. meaning they're cheating somewhere.
i like how in every single acoustic show they do gene is always way to loud almost like its not the sound guys fault.... Eric wasn't having it
what was erics deal?
Bass was too loud and he couldn't hear anything other than it. He kept telling the sound guy to turn it down, but he wouldn't do it. So he got super pissed
Hi hat problem as well.
bass too loud
Did anybody see the drunk guy walking into the column at 0:15?
That was Gene lol
You mean Gene? lol
Funny as hell. It was probably me.... HA
Who do you think has the bigger dressing room?
Ask Bobbi Flekman.
Eric looks upset!!! He dosent look happy anymore
The sound guy absoloutely pissed him off because he was completely ignoring Eric trying to tell him to turn down the bass volume

will always love KISS but Paul just can't sing anymore. Sorry
Eric looks so bored.

Lighten-up, Eric, it's a small gig and you're a Peter Criss impersonator.
He shits all over Peter criss
Fuck Off. He's been in KISS 💋 alot longer than Peter Criss
eric es tremendo¡¡ es un relojito cada tocada es una toma perfecta terrible batero¡¡¡
cant they hire a faux paul? one who's voice isnt shot?
Man, this shit is so weak. And I am a KISS fan since 1976.
Mr DDD3az Dear Paul's voice is only saying: "can't do anything else".....
Eric no escucha el Bass guitarr
Enrique Tomas I thought he was telling them to turn the bass down?
0:14 le boulet 😹
