You could use a heat gun, to soften the plastic and then holded in place to remold the item to the position wanted, just an Idea. But it looks awesome.
LifeAt50&Beyond, why not. Is a heat conductor it may work, also keep in mind that if do it on a surface prep the surface or put something thick under just in case you don't want to warp anything/ melt anything, bless you, TFS your Awesomeness.
JimmyLani Creations thanks a lot! I’m going to try this on my next DIY. I pinned your comment to put it on top so others may also benefit from this conversation. Have a great day!
What a lovely idea! The heat gun to soften the plastic is a great idea you could always prepaint the fencing before shaping and touch u any paint necessary once you have the structure together!! Again love the vid.
You are so blessed to be gifted with your amazing talents and eye for beautiful crafts. I am a retired florist, and have seen some amazing florals, honey, you have sooo many of those " professional " beat! Keep up the beautiful job. I so enjoy seeing all your videos. You have really inspired me with your creativity.
Aww, thank you so much, Deb. Your kind words lifted up my spirits and put a smile on my face. I do appreciate it a lot. I can't thank you enough. Have a wonderful and blessed Sunday! Hugs~ Josie :)
Wow this DIY came out very pretty, it reminded me of vintage or like something of the Victorian era, the flowers you used went very well together, you should really have a 30 minute show on t. v., thanks again and 👍👍😀
Thanks so much Christine. It does seem like a Victorian piece! Aww you are too kind. Thanks for the vote of confidence in me. I don't think I can be on TV...that's soo huge of a step. But, one can only dream right? Hope you enjoy your day. TFW, hugs~ Josie :)
Thanks, Veronica. Oh, this would be lovely as a centerpiece. The garden fences are back in stock online. It's just a matter of time before it is also on the store shelves! Enjoy this project! Hugs~ Josie :)
Wow! You definitely have a creative brain, I saw those at the DR and thought they look a bit gothic, but wow! So lovely, especially like the bird touch 🐤
Thanks, Andrea. I love bird cages too and you are right about them being expensive. Glad this alternative works better on the budget. You're welcome. Enjoy your week. Hugs~ Josie :)
Yay, you'll love it for sure Mo Rob! Enjoy making and using it. You can change the flowers to go with any season or occasion! TFW, HAPPY CRAFTING! Hugs~ Josie :)
I love your creativity! Amazing how simple and easily amused our lives get after 50 isn't it? Besides your innovation I love how you say seezers. 🤗 I subscribed to your channel so I hope you're still creating these wonderful DIYs your sharing with us.
Thanks Kathie for subscribing and for your comments. I'd like to welcome you to my channel. I hope you check back often. My life at 50 is packed with things that I love to do but never gor the chance to do before I hit 50. I guess because I only have one child who is already an adult. She doesn't eat up my time as much as before I turned 50! I am admiring the young mommy UA-camrs how they pull it all off with young kids and some of them have jobs too! LOL, I know for some reason scissors come out as seezers when I say it. I blame my non-English native tongue for that haha. I will continue to do more creative things, so check back often. Enjoy your Sunday and your week ahead! Hugs~ Josie :)
Thanks, Cynthia. Like you and a ton of others I love farmhouse style too. You'd be happy to know that I am coming up with ideas. I'll be uploading them very soon! Enjoy your day! Hugs~ Josie :)
I love it! Very clever idea using the plastic fence piece! I'm really loving the farmhouse items, that's my favorite style! Keep the videos coming, you are awesome!
It is absolutely beautiful! I love the choice of flowers and it's very, very pretty....I'm not sure if this would work but I was thinking in terms of using a blow dryer to soften the fence part 2 mold it a little easier, perhaps.....
Thanks, Lynn! Yes, the blow dryer or hairdryer works in bending the fence. I used it on the next DIY after this one. I hope you will try to make this. If you do, enjoy! Blessings and hugs~ Josie :)
Great diy... I have done something similar with the plastic garden fence but instead of just bending it and fighting with it I placed in hot water for a min or so then took it out and it was so easy to bend. Just an FYI. Thanks for the tutorial.
Thanks for the tip, Jennifer. Yeah, after the first try and some suggestions to apply heat, someone said something similar. I haven't tried that yet. You've just confirmed that for me. It's worth trying if I want to save my wrist. I appreciate that you let me know. Enjoy your day! And...you are welcome. Hugs~ Josie :)
Yes, will do Patricia! It's in 2020, but got to start early lol. I'll be doing my younger sister's wedding decorations as well...this year! I'll be sure to share that as well. TFW, hugs~ Josie :)
If you dip the sides you are trying to bend in hot water they will bend easier. Or use a blow dryer!! Please put on a glove hot pad to hold/mould the pieces! Also buy black zip ties. Buy smaller/shorter zip ties, that way you don't have to waste so much when you cut them. I love your videos!
Thanks Gayle, all great tips! Thanks for sharing these ideas. I have been using blow dryer since JimmyLani Creations suggested a heat gun. I have yet to try dipping in hot water. I am sure it would work out great! As for the zip ties, I find that using smaller ones wouldn't hold as firmly as the bigger ones for this stubborn fences; however, maybe if I use heat to bend I wouldn't need big zip ties. Since I was painting this white, using white zip ties worked out great too! I bought some assorted ones from DT and black ones from 99c only store. Glad you love my videos. Thanks for the love and support! Hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day ! Hugs~ Josie :)
Sooo like you’ve got me addicted to the DT fences to which I can’t find in my local DT😕...your projects are so well mapped out and thoroughly enjoy your channel!!!
Aww, thanks so much for your kind words Veronica. I do appreciate it. I feel bad that some stores aren't carrying the fences. Someone mentioned you can find them at Roses (not sure what store that is) and 99cOnly Stores. So maybe you have them nearby? You can also order online with free delivery to your local DT. However, minimum order is 1 unit with 24 fences. So, that may be a lot. Maybe also suggest the store carry them so they can order for themselves. Let me know how it goes. TFS, hugs~ Josie :)
You're welcome and thanks Dawn! It would really make such a beautiful centerpiece at the Senior Luncheon tables at your church. Thanks for watching. Enjoy your day! Hugs~ Josie :)
Thanks, B! Glad you like this idea. The materials are still available at Dollar Tree in case you want to try it out! Enjoy your week! Blessings and hugs~ Josie :)
Omgosh Josie...it turned out so beautiful. It's going to look very nice in your daughter's decor for her upcoming wedding. You did a great job like always. Thanks for sharing your beautiful creations. Congratulations to your daughter on her upcoming nuptials.❤️❤️❤️
At Hobby Lobby, they have plastic chargers that look rustic for $1.99 each. These are super cute and inexpensive wedding decor centerpiece ideas or for anytime for that matter.
Ohhhh, that would be so awesome Sharon. Next time I go on HL trip, nearest one is 50 miles away, I will check on it. Might as well stock up for the wedding :) TFW and enjoy your evening. Hugs~ Josie :)
It's beautiful iam doing it thank you for sharing p.s if you put the rubber close to the heat of the stove but not to close just with the heat is easy to bend the cage to the shape desire. God bless
Hi Ips Laylay...yeah I believe the heat of the stove should work just like heat gun and hairdryer. As long as it conducts heat. Thanks for the input. Hope you make one soon! TFW, hugs~ Josie :)
Oh I love all these projects. You really think outside the box which is something I have trouble doing I subscribe and and can't wait for any new videos thank you for sharing
I was wondering if a hair air dryier, could help bend it. Looks beautiful! Thank you for sharing this wonderful idea I love the combination of the wedding card and this birdcage topper. Wonderful job! Blessed be 💜 & Happy Valentine's day 🌹 Blessed be💖🌹💖
Thanks, Clara! I think the hair dryer should work. I tried it on the second garden fence project! You are so welcome. I am glad you love this project and the combination with the wedding card box too! Enjoy your day! Hugs~ Josie :)
You could use a heat gun, to soften the plastic and then holded in place to remold the item to the position wanted, just an Idea.
But it looks awesome.
Thanks for the tip JimmyLani Creations! I wish I have one. I do have a hairdryer...wonder if that could have worked too! TFW, hugs~ Josie :)

Pretty. I would of never thought the fence piece could make a planter/birdcage.
Thanks Vicki! At first, neither did I. Enjoy your day! Hugs~ Josie :)
This would even be super cute paired with the ornate boho lanterns that DT sells!!!
Yeah, they would look lovely together Sharon. Thanks again! Hugs~ Josie :)

What a lovely idea! The heat gun to soften the plastic is a great idea you could always prepaint the fencing before shaping and touch u any paint necessary once you have the structure together!! Again love the vid.
Thanks Carol! Great idea to pre-paint too! TFW, hugs~ Josie :)
