What do you do when you’ve watered it too much? I’ve repotted and used soil for drought friendly plants (cactus). Couldn’t find bonsai soil and it was just soaked! So I repotted mixing in potting soil but I think the soil is still too wet.
Phat Kat try mixing in something to make a free draining substrate. In the UK there is a cat litter made from molar clay that works really well. Also look at pumice, perlite, lava rock or akadama. Anything that makes it more mud like is generally considered a bad option as you can introduce nutrients via watering. A small amount of moss peat or bark chips, sieved, is ok. There are quite a lot of videos on bonsai soil, check out videos from Peter Chan at Herons Bonsai or videos by Bjorn Bjorholm (apologies Bjorn if I’ve spelled that wrong!) as they’ve both done videos on soil and Bjorn also has a podcast but he doesn’t update it often enough even tho he keeps promising to! Naughty Bjorn!
@@Admiral_Pumpout thank you so much for your reply. I've since given it a hair cut (at the behest of my mother who wouldnt stop nagging me that that was the cure). Thanks again!
Ordered a juniper bonsai, I'm in NYC and the light doesn't hit our apartment until 1-2 pm, I ordered a full spectrum uv light as well. Everything im reading regarding care, humidity, watering, heat etc any tips I'd greatly appreciate. I hear it should be kept outside at night and it'll be fine in colder temps. Our bedroom is very cool, usually no warner than 65. Anything else u recommend? Do I have to worry about mites? Homemade incesticide? Thank you sir.
How do you know which kind of bonsai you have my nana just gave me hers that she ordered online and I have no idea which kind it is. It looks pretty unhealthy so i want to hurry a take care of it. I’m gonna try to put it as my pfp so if anybody knows please help me asap.

Same with all male retail workers I see now. It's because there is a grand plan to make men effeminate and females masculine to deteriorate the natural order.

If u watered too much, flip it upside down and let it drain. Or use a blow dryer. It's a lot of work for a dumb mistake u did!

imagine leaving it in the backyard for too long that it roots in the ground and overgrows

Can I take a cutting or clone from a tree in my neighborhood and pot it in a smaller pot to then construct a bonsai?
Yep.
She wanted to laugh at him pronouncing “roots” I just know it
I’ve got bonsai tree seeds and I wanna know how you treat it cause I heard it’s kind of hard
I can barely spell Bonsai, but at 2:30 isn’t the tree supposed to look old? Total novice question.
Yes, she made a mistake. She tried to say the "positive" thing.
I am 14 and I love plants right now taking care of aloe Vera tgat hasn’t took care for 5month
The pots looks small for a pretty big tree, is that normal?
Yes. Thats what bonsai translates to, a tree potted in a shallow pot.
@@lisabiancee7699 i know bonsai trees are meant to be small but the pot looks way too small for their size.
the small pot actually helps help the tree stay small. it prevents the roots from getting too big that might make the tree grow too big.
i think that might be the case i’m not an expert i just read that somewhere lol.
