Teddy Lehman thank you for all the contributions you have and will make to OU. My dad who passed in 2017 always said you were his favorite linebacker and loved your intensity on the field.
I have become a MASSIVE Brent Venables fan not because he is just the OU coach but for the man he has presented himself as. This is a highly respectable and honourable human being. Very lucky to have this man as our coach.
I’m 35 min into this interview, and so far, Gabe and Teddy asked the first question, and Coach V hasn’t stopped talking yet!! I just love this guy. After listening to this interview, and all of the staff’s presser videos last week, I feel like I need to run through a wall or two. I know how crazy this sounds, but every time I listen to Coach V and his staff, I’m left with the feeling that when all the dust settles, Coach V may end up being the most successful coach we’ve ever been blessed to have at OU. Again, I know that is crazy to say out loud, but my God, I just get so fired up every time these guys talk about what they are building. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, TBOW! You gave us the best gift we’ve gotten since 1998!! By the way, BIG PROPS to Teddy for being named the 29th best player in Sooner history by Bleacher Report. I loved watching you play brother. I appreciate everything you’ve done, and everything you continue to do for OU! BOOMER SOONER!!! #OUDNA #SoonerNation
We're going to win a ton of games with this dude at the helm. BV is so honest and open. "Roulette is for meatheads" This needs to be on one of your Oppolis shirts. What a stark contrast to "guys, we're so close"... LOL the interview was so long that you guys had to change clothes!
Hallelujah! After listening to Brent I feel like I've just left an Old Fashion Tent Revival. I see something special in Him that's been missing. He's brought something to the Program that's been missing.
Coach Venables, is a man on fire! This has to be the start of new beginnings. Thanks for Coach Riley, leaving for Oklahoma, to be rebooted and for Coach V, to be the man!
I love BV coming on, this is so cool. This is a dude that respects the guys that helped build the program and will happily take an hour to talk to two Sooner greats.
Wow. This is great. Coach BV is a pleasant surprise to the podcast for the Sooner Nation. Just want Coach BV to know how much he is appreciated. I have no doubt that he is going to lead the Sooners to success and develop great young men to be leaders in whatever path they choose. Boomer Sooner!!!!!!
Best interview yet! There were so many gold nuggets in this interview that I was taking notes. I’m grateful that BV is the head coach. Thanks Gabe and Teddy!
If you build a great program, the great team will happen. Being able to go into someone’s house and tell the parents how many players are graduating, going to the next level, the awards the players have received and knowing your child is going to be involved in that program and have those resources available to him for the rest of his life. Like Caleb Kelly being the Soul life coach to help your child through the teenage years as a student athlete. Growing up in OU athletics with that available to you to become a man, father & mentor to others. I’m excited for the future of OU football.
Yes!!! What a great interview!! Coach BV has me more fired up then LR ever did. This man shows so much excitement and passion that it’s contagious. Love his honesty no matter the situation! Keep rocking it guys!! Congratulations
I watched Brent's interview on Rivals Video the other day. I started chuckling near the end of the video, because it seemed like there was 5+ minutes (maybe well over) where the interviewer didn't get to ask another question because Brent was going through everything. Lol And there was still like 3 minutes left in the video, and Brent kept going until the end. 😆 We at least know he's pretty passionate about his work.
I think the players know that the strength and conditioning has been pretty easy since Riley (TBOW) took over and that slowly began to show on the field. Now, with Coach BV and company, the addition of Schmidty, they know what’s going to happen to/for them. It will all be positive and it will improve their draft stock. If I were a player their, I’d be listening to every word this man is saying. It will pay dividends for you in the future. I’m fired up about next season.
Thank you guys for asking Brent about going fast on offense vs getting off the field on defense. We saw Lincoln slow down because he was killing his defenses. It's an important question.
Gabe, your shirt is missing a "B". How about the guy our field is named after? Bennie Owen won 122 games and had 3 undefeated teams. First of the Killer B's.
Ya'll landed the big fish! I remember you when. (When you had less than 500 YT subs) Also, "....7/8 Ted talk". I prefer to think of it as a rich tapestry of sometimes related metaphors.
I love all teams in Tulsa, and in Oklahoma,, but let me you, I already like OU much more than I used to. Lincoln Riley can win championship with USC but he will never be the man Brent Venables is right now.
Venables hasn’t even coached a game as Oklahoma’s HC and he’s got us all convinced he’s going to elevate the program. That says a lot in itself. BOOMER !!!
Also love the 3-0 game comments (Teddy the defensive guy says heck yes, Gabe the offensive guy says how about we don't). Quintessential talk from offense vs defense players.)
Would love to play for him even if it was just one day, the guy in his short time here is inspiring me to make some change, his faith in the Good lord above is amazin.
I'd like to see a detailed book from Bob, Brent and Mike... hell and Mike Leech, about that 1999 transition. The few details I've seen in books paint a damn ugly picture of what the inherited. Not everyone or everything from before that were bad, it's just crazy how much impact the things they did had. How fast it had that impact I think tells you there was something very toxic going on there for the 10 years prior or so.
COACH V holy crap what a guy. I pray my son is that standard of football player to have Coach V knock my door and offer him. "Make excellence a habit" just one the things that stood out. His philosophy of football translates to real life after football. THAT WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR AS A PARENT. I remember listening to Matt Rhule speak and I wanted to dislike him. I was impressed with him as person and a coach, I said to myself wow TBOW doesn't sound like that. Coach V is giving good water to the seeds that are placed in the rich soil called OU football hopefully the fall harvest is plenty and may the Sooner cup runneth over with fruits of their hard labor. I believe we are blessed to have Coach V. Thank you Teddy and Gabe
I wasn't aware that the combine was happening until it was all over with. 🤦 Wanted to watch the OU player's performances.. The highlights don't show much of OU outside of the 40 times. So I didn't get to see anything about Winfrey's chain.
I cant wait for a coach that can mix up his scheme to his personnel. Also disguise coverages, plays multiple fronts to confuse defenses and maximize skillsets
There is a roulette trick that works as long as you already have a lot of money to spare. Bet on red or black every time, BUT double your bet every single time, that's why there is usually like a 5 dollar low limit, if you could start out at a quarter or even a dime, I would play it all day and make a living. So let's say you bet on red 4 times in a row and the 4th time you finally hit, 1st bet is $1 2nd is $2 3rd is $4 and 4th is $8 and you win $16 , total you spent $15 so far because you doubled. The problem is when you start with $5 and it doesn't hit on your 8th bet, you just spent $1,280 dollars on the last bet and have to double that to come back with the profit if it hits on the 9th bet. Its double $2,560 and you win back $5,120. Just keep in mind, these tables are probably rigged in the casinos favor, and they might notice what you are doing, and make it not hit red until you leave because you're out of money.
Coach makes me wanna get suited and booted and run out on the field and hit the first person i see love the passion coach has BOOMER!!!SOONER!!! all day everyday baby
I was a student at OU from 1995-98 and it was a shit show! I grew up watching the King dominate everyone and even Gary Gibbs made bowl games. We went 5-5-1, 3-9, 4-8! At OU!!!!! I’m stoked BV is here to get OUr defense back to a level that will make us unstoppable like when he was here before! We get that defense back and NO ONE CAN STOP US!
He's hired an all state who's who coaching staff and probably the best staff in the country and brought in the #8 recruiting class in the country. I think he'll be just fine personally.
If you have listened to long interviews by Dabo Swiney you'll see that BV has been greatly influenced by him. Sounds just like Dabo plus a little Ritalin
Teddy Lehman thank you for all the contributions you have and will make to OU. My dad who passed in 2017 always said you were his favorite linebacker and loved your intensity on the field.
My dad coached Jimbo Elrod and always felt Ted played with that same intensity.
@@kimimhoff6563 Elrod was one of my favorites.
I have become a MASSIVE Brent Venables fan not because he is just the OU coach but for the man he has presented himself as. This is a highly respectable and honourable human being. Very lucky to have this man as our coach.
He’s such a motivational speaker. How can we not be excited for the future?
I’m 35 min into this interview, and so far, Gabe and Teddy asked the first question, and Coach V hasn’t stopped talking yet!! I just love this guy. BV has the fans ready to run through walls for the team! Hahaha! Loving his energy!!
I can tell Gabe really reallyyyy wanted to ask questions at the beginning, but BV wouldn't stop talking LOL.
I just love how Coach V is coaching up Teddy and Gabe in the middle of an interview. Hilarious and impactful at the same time.
I love listening to Coach Venables talk. I could listen to him all day. He is so positive and uplifting. ❤
I’m 100% convinced BV listens to David Goggins!
We're going to win a ton of games with this dude at the helm. BV is so honest and open. "Roulette is for meatheads" This needs to be on one of your Oppolis shirts.
What a stark contrast to "guys, we're so close"... LOL the interview was so long that you guys had to change clothes!
Roulette is for meatheads - awesome quote!
Teddy's taking notes like he's gonna be quizzed on it lol. Just show's the respect he has for Venables
Bro I could listen to BV talk for hours. So much wisdom.
I could listen to him all day everyday. We are in good hands and every parent should want their child to play for him! BOOMER!!!!
I’m so happy to have BV back at Oklahoma. Love the interview.
Was it me or was everyone pretty much hypnotized after about 15 mins? I don’t know how a kid or parent says ‘no’ to him on the recruiting trail.
Holy shit they got Brent on the pod
I love BV coming on, this is so cool. This is a dude that respects the guys that helped build the program and will happily take an hour to talk to two Sooner greats.

Coach venables is an incredible leader. If you spend time around him you will have no choice but to be a better person.
Focus on the root first and the fruit second! So true! Build greatness! OU can now breathe a breath of fresh air and focus on newness and excellence!
Best interview yet! There were so many gold nuggets in this interview that I was taking notes. I’m grateful that BV is the head coach. Thanks Gabe and Teddy!
Way to go Gabe and Teddy!!
Boomer Sooner!!
⭕🙌🏻🏈
10 seconds into this my response was "fu*k yes." 😆 can't wait to hear from our guy!

Riley wanted stars, BV wants to create men.
Lol

Haha! It’s so much better than hearing “we’re close” and “next question” and being so secretive about everything!
Such an authentic human being. You can tell that his interest is on the person and not the player, and the program will be good for it.
Thank you guys so much for giving my dad that amazing shout out!!! Stan 'bandwagon' Speaks! The whole fam was in tears!
that’s my coach
All the O.U. showed up at the combine, just think how good they would have been with good play calling.
Sweet yall got BV!!!!
I think the players know that the strength and conditioning has been pretty easy since Riley (TBOW) took over and that slowly began to show on the field. I'm soo glad we got BV! LR did us a favor!
"its for meatheads!" i seen the twinkle in teddys eye when he heard that! hahaha!
Not gonna lie that 'but first' before the ads always makes me chuckle a little. Love you guys, Coach V and the podcast. Keep up the good work fellas 👏
First time three commercial breaks come and go and T & G have not said a word. BV is the truth.
Wait, you got Coach V on here and the episode isn’t 3 hours long? Impressed and sad both lol! Great episode guys.
I really feel for Brent. The expectations at OU are so insanely high. ...God help him if his first year is anything but stiller.
True. I hope folks don't freak out the first time we lose a game, but I know some will.
I've got 4 years eligibility left. I know I'm 57 but I could play for this man. Get me fired up and ready to knock a head or two!!!!
I’m willing to walk-on as a tackling dummy. Sign me up.
Yes! I’m 53, so I’ll be a freshman in your world. Let’s go!! I’ll be the kicker. 😂
Need a shirt that says it’s time for the Oklahoma break down!!
Great interview !!! I'm so excited for the season coming up.
Coach V!!!
VERY IMPRESSIVE MY FATHER ONCE TOLD ME IF YOUR NOT MOVING FORWARD, THEN YOU ARE GOING BACKWARDS, NOTHING STAYS THE SAME.
He is so inspiring
Lets Gooooooo!!!
The get back guy answer is my favorite
Gotta love Coach Venables! All you had to do was introduce him then let him go! Great stuff!!
Omg. Gabe is used to talking so much. The BV pontification looked like it took the juice away from Gabe a bit. Funny stuff. 😁
I hope that his vision comes to fruition. It's a heck of a plan.
Thank you guys for asking Brent about going fast on offense vs getting off the field on defense. We saw Lincoln slow down because he was killing his defenses. It's an important question.
Art of Football by Brent Tzu...... lmao 🤣
Gabe, your shirt is missing a "B". How about the guy our field is named after? Bennie Owen won 122 games and had 3 undefeated teams. First of the Killer B's.
Rolled and smoked 3 joints watching this… tremendous
This is amazing, thanks fellas!!!
Get jerry schimit on plz
He is That Dude!!!!
"Reset some standards" Really says a lot and matches what a lot of people were thinking all last season.
Ya'll landed the big fish!
I remember you when. (When you had less than 500 YT subs)
Also, "....7/8 Ted talk".
I prefer to think of it as a rich tapestry of sometimes related metaphors.
Teddy your smile says it all
Football philosopher. Brent Venables. Seems to be something to all of it for sure.
Great podcast, guys!
There weren't too many opportunities to stop for ads. 😂 Dude's too passionate to pause!
We will play for a big 12 championship this year and play in the college playoffs the next year. BOOMER
I love all teams in Tulsa, and in Oklahoma,, but let me you, I already like OU much more than I used to. Lincoln Riley can win championship with USC but he will never be the man Brent Venables is right now.
Best part of the interview was BV trying to convince us he didn't need a get back coach :D
Oh and also BV telling Teddy he wants to see him play RUSSIAN roulette there at the end
Teddy looks like he's ready to suit up and lay down some slobberknockers for Coach V right now!!
Love all this talk on March 6th. Curious how the talk will be on October 8th. LOL.
Venables hasn’t even coached a game as Oklahoma’s HC and he’s got us all convinced he’s going to elevate the program. That says a lot in itself. BOOMER !!!
please oh please coach V ! if we achieve anything this season, please let it be a defense that can stop somebody!
Berry Switzer said, if they can't score they cant win!
Love the offseason list of what you will talk about (nothing wrong with a short list with lots of content).
Also love the 3-0 game comments (Teddy the defensive guy says heck yes, Gabe the offensive guy says how about we don't). Quintessential talk from offense vs defense players.)
Great job guys! Go BV!
Let’s gooooo!!!!!!!!
Would love to play for him even if it was just one day, the guy in his short time here is inspiring me to make some change, his faith in the Good lord above is amazin.
“ how you do anything, is how you do everything “

Whew I love BV but that man know he can talk lol! I’m excited for the direction the program is headed towards!
Greatest OKBD E V E R!!!
I cant wait for a coach that can mix up his scheme to his personnel. Also disguise coverages, plays multiple fronts to confuse defenses and maximize skillsets
I love this man!! 🥲
This guy is on another level, big time over Lincoln Riley.
Are you sure? According to the national media, our football program is done for. Losing TBOW was a death blow that we can’t recover from…
@@soonerborn7603 🤣😝 I know you jest, but that’s funny.
Nice to see that he's not having to hold his phone this time. Lol
Hope he's able to find a permanent home that he's happy with.

"I don't need a get-back coach." I love the denial.
Can you see it yes or no. Shhh I’m Talking here lol ohhh man I love his energy. Boomer Sooner
Would love to work for Brent
i have a feeling we are going to have very little tranfers compared to alabama UT A&M ohio state and USC because of the realationship aspect of brent
CJ SPILLER was most likely the RB coach couldn’t recall
That’s a man that people shut up to listen too.
