its to do with water injection used on takeoff, its an older way of boosting power output without having an afterburner, the side effect is lots of black smoke
@@paul8161 new 'clean' Rolls Royce engines on contract but it looks like a while before they will be fitted. B-52s lifespan will be 100 years by the end of their service🤯

No problem. It didn't fly this year at the RIAT show itself unfortunately but you could see one up close on the ground 👍
Drove past Thursday and saw them just sat in the rain glad it brighted up on there departure
A little sun makes a huge difference on the day👍

The first B-52 did the F'boro flypast on the Friday and then they both went back to the US👍
