Hey everyone! It's always a bummer when you can't pass smog. Let me know how your SMOG Check went after the cleaning. Feel free to leave a tip 😊💲VENMO: @GarageDynamics
Thank youuu my wife has beeen crying this damn egr going on and off. So i said im going to just replace every hose for her. And clean the valve. Awesome video ❤🎉
As always your videos are very helpful! One main difference between your videos and others is your explanations. It makes a DIFFERENCE! Keep up the AWESOME work! I especially like how you are in no rush! Watching a calm instructional video puts me at ease. Appreciate You Much! I followed your valve cover gasket video and it came out perfect! Thanks again!
Thank you very much for your kind words B Nstalls! It means a lot to me 🙏 It's always a pleasure to serve you and the community. I'll definitely keep up the awesome work! 😁 That's great! I'm so glad to hear the good news about your valve cover gasket!! 🙌 We gotta keep the S rolling strong 💪
I actually have a E Class but yes gotta keep them rollin. I had a question I hope that you can answer for me. So you know how the engines look very similar from class to class. Ok so you know where you remove the EGR tube from manifold well just to the drivers side of is a uh Ill call it a black nipple. On mine I can grab the black nipple and pull it part ways out and then push it back into manifold. And Im not sure if it was on your car or someone elses but they had a hose coming out of it. Do you think mine is supposed to have hose in the center of black nipple also? What is the name of that part and what does it do? Thank you for your time.
@@bnstalls8949 Hummm, do you know if there is a hole in the black nipple? If so, then I would think there is a hose that is suppose to connect to it. It's hard to give a diagnosis without some sort of picture or diagram. Does your nipple look like this? www.benzworld.org/threads/vacuum-nipple.3014860/#lg=thread-3014860&slide=1 www.benzworld.org/threads/vacuum-nipple.3014860/#lg=thread-3014860&slide=0 If so, then It looks like you need a hose on the nipple.
Thank you Kevin Kelker! It's much more flexible than a wire brush and just as effective. Wasn't too much gunk. I think the biggest issue with the EGR on the M113 engine is the heat exposure to the rubber hoses. Mine were so bad that they just started to crumble when I touched them.
Exlent knowledge Personally i ike a professional demonstration , it is a real honest job, Thanks body , you'll have a good future.. i hope UTUBE should be knowing about the capabilities
This video helped me save lots of money at a garage. Thanks so much. I did have some difficulties getting to that EGR bolt underneath the fuel rail. I cussed a bit and then found a good tool to help.
I been having secondary air check engine light on. Air Pump is good but somehow keeps blowing fuse for airpump. Causing motor to idle rough. I Clean front valves near air pump, I’m assuming could it be this Recirculation egr valve? But I have no check engine light for this egr valve 🤔 any ideas?
Im getting EGR "A" code ( Forgot the number) I get occasionally rough idle at start up in morning but once warmed up it goes away.. mine is an M112 so Im assuming very similar . Ill try soon !
Wonderful video. Thank you. Question for you. If the end of EGR port that goes into the intake manifold is clogged, do I need to pull apart the intake manifold and clean whatever the pipe leads to/from inside the manifold?
Hello Blessed One1, That isn't necessary because once you unbolt the two screws from the intake manifold the whole pipe comes out. I hope this helps. Cheers!
I did have one more question. On the EGR Valve the hose that has a plastic piece on it does it connect to anything? And all I could find was hose for windshield wiper fluid do you think this will work?
Hello B Nstalls, in regards to that plastic piece. I think it just hangs next to the EGR valve. I wouldn't hook up the windshield wiper fluid hose to your EGR valve. That may cause a malfunction of the EGR valve.
When i went to detach the breather hose the plastic end of the three valve broke. Having problem finding it in the Mercedes diagram. Would you know what the breather three way valve is called? Thanks.
Hello Leonardo Pacheco, Are you talking about the round black thing that connects to the EGR? That sits off to the side. It doesn't really attach to anything.
My C43 check engine light came on a few days ago. The code was P0400 for EGR. I parked it until I have enough time to remove the EGR for cleaning and hose replacement.
@@leroysmith8514 I looked up P0410 and it references the air injection pump. Here's a link to a UA-cam video that may give some direction to go. My car also had a prior issue with the air pump and it was a simple repair with tube replacement. ua-cam.com/video/3GAVxLy5tu0/v-deo.html
Misinformed here how did you take the metal bracket off and how on earth were you able to get the fuel line clips off with just your fingers had to use pliers to get the thing off

What P0 code did you have?
I just took time to read all the comments I can't say I've ever seen such a positive response. Thank you again!!

Excellent video! Seeing how the worm shaped pipe is removed from the intake manifold both with and without the EGR attached is **SUPER** helpful.
Thank you so much! Proud owner of a ML320 with a clean EGR tube. with your help i finally did it on my second attempt.
Very good quality video and instructions - loved it
Thanks for posting this video - and thanks for the tip with the zip tie and the drill for cleaning the EGR pipe!
Great and very useful video 💪
Thank you for the walk through
Thanks for a very detailed video…very helpful and I was able to swap my EGR valve and pipe 🤙🏽

Another well.done video. Creative use of a zip tie! Would like to have seen how much gunk came off using it. Great job.

Thanks for sharing
Great video! Saved a ton of guesswork. Thank you.
Great video, will do the same on my CL500 just to have new hoses and gaskets.
Hello roxy roxy, That's awesome! I just added the hose link to video description. It's a 5/32 or 4mm inside diameter hose. Happy wrenching!

Hello Blessed One1, That isn't necessary because once you unbolt the two screws from the intake manifold the whole pipe comes out. I hope this helps. Cheers!
My 05 e320 has a shaky idle sometimes but otherwise runs fine. I thinking it may be vacuum or air leak but could a dirty EGR valve cause this also!?
I did have one more question. On the EGR Valve the hose that has a plastic piece on it does it connect to anything? And all I could find was hose for windshield wiper fluid do you think this will work?
I meant windshield wiper hose to replace EGR hose and not to connect to part I asked about.
Hello B Nstalls, in regards to that plastic piece. I think it just hangs next to the EGR valve. I wouldn't hook up the windshield wiper fluid hose to your EGR valve. That may cause a malfunction of the EGR valve.
Would u suggest doing this before or after valve cover gaskets?
13:22 My w211 has a transmission filler in the way, so it make it difficult to torque the pipe..
Same here, I hate it. I couldn't figure out how to remove that stupid dipstick pipe.
Bien chingonnnn....(top notch)

Thanks, great video im getting a code for egr.
Great video but I’m struggling to pull the hose from the side of the elbow below MAF, it won’t budge !! Any tips I’m a humble plumber not a car man

What was the size for the vacuum hoses that need replacing?

If I throw that egr in a sonic cleaner will it damage my egr?
Where does that clip attach to from the egr I changed all hoses and noticed that part wasn’t connected to anything please help

Hello V, A little, not too heavy. The check engine light is off now thankfully.

I used two flat heads screw drivers to hold the clips in their groves.
You never showed the other method of removal with the frozen pipe to the Egr valve
What’s the size of the biggest nut🥲 I don’t want to buy a bunch of crow feet I just need 1
