can anyone tell me why we have different types of channels, like logical, transport etc etc... why can't have logical channels between MAC and PHY or why i can't have transport channels between MAC and RLC or why can't logical channels also exists between MAC and PHY apart from MAC and RLC
Yes you can have them at other layers too but then you will have to reconfigure and recalculate the processing and overhead at each layer along with performance efficiency
It could be for various reasons. RRC reconfiguration message is used to communicate different messages not only specifically for measurement configuration
