    Over rated wedges I sold my SM10 after 6 months felt like hitting a brick , gone back to ping glide and mizuno s23 as felt softer and spun more.

    I'd love 3 vokeys but it's £500 for 3 which is nuts. Just picked up 3 second hand mizuno t22s for less than 1 vokey. Makes no sense.

    It will be tough for Laura to convince you to send those on to the second hand market. Once those rust up it will be less valuable to send on. Maybe those really will become your gamers. We may have really found what’s in the bag for the next season 😂

    Glad you’ve got some trusty rustys that you love, James.
    It’s horses for courses with the raw finish. I can’t stand the rust. But as is true with most things in golf, if you like what you’re looking down at and it gives you confidence, then that’s going to work for you. The actual performance differences among quality wedges are minuscule. Especially once you get to a lob wedge. They’re all going to spin and they’re all going to feel pretty soft, due to loft more than any materials used. So it just comes down to what fits the eye and finding the grind and bounce combo that works. I’ve enjoyed using wedges from Titleist, Mizuno, callaway, Cleveland, ping, and others and played decent golf with all of them. And some crap golf with all of them!
    I am a bit curious about the claims from Edison, though. Thinking about picking up a used one to try out.

  • @nkimmanceify
    @nkimmanceify 3 дні тому

    Wedge grind is also key to type of course. Three examples: links courses, London clay courses and UAE course all have different below grass conditions. You may need different grinds and bounce

  • @nkimmanceify
    @nkimmanceify 3 дні тому

    Tour distance average from hole normally the pins are tucked in the corners on tough courses. Chipping with the flag in the middle is not a fair comparison. Try hitting close to say the 2nd at the creek with flag back left for example.

  • @johnlynch6778
    @johnlynch6778 3 дні тому

    James glad you have your wedges, however some honest context would be great.
    Titliest performance centre is £500 for a fitting for normal golfers on their website.
    So those raw wedges are £209 x 3 = £627 +£500 fit cost.
    Potentially £1127 for 3 wedges from the Titliest Performance Centre.
    So the video could be. Is a £500 wedge fitting worth it.

    Wedges you like are important for sure. If you have a club(s) you personally, just do not like, the confidence suffers. Much of the game takes place in our minds to make or break our scores. To a larger or lesser degree, we are all like this. James, hope you shave a few strokes off the scores.

      It’s that the chrome plating doesn’t take up the space in the grooves and they can be really precise up to the limit of groove depth and have sharper grooves.
      The problem is that they wear out a whole lot faster than plates wedges
