We wouldn’t have won without Majok, that 4th quarter in game 3 won us the series as much as any other play or player! I want him to stay with us until he retires!!!

Scott Roth deserved Coach of the Year tbh. Alongside all of the awesome players at his disposal, he really kept a level head during games and remained humble throughout everything the team’s gone through.
    Well done JackJumpers!

“Fortune on their side”. Eat it Rucker.

if the JJs fighting back to win after being 10+ points down had happened once, twice, or three times then you'd call it good fortune. But the reality is they've done it consistently throughout their existence. How many times does it have to happen before you stop putting it down to just luck and start to understand it's actually just what they do? The "never say die" principle is the foundation they were built on from day 1. These kinds of wins aren't flukes.

@@adrianbroughton9752they totally deserve it whereas MU were lucky to be in it, should have been the hawks if the refs were fair. Humble JJs won, arrogant MU lost with a team loaded with stars 😮

Unbelievable how they always come back from -15 on the 2nd match, -10 on the 3rd and today aswell -10 at beginning and -9 on the 3rd quarter

Exactly, it's almost like a better position for them to come from behind and then win.

Basketball is now bigger in Tasmania than AFL. It severs the AFL right for neglecting Tasmania for so long. Even now they are making us wait another 5 years for what we deserve which is our own AFL Team. We are sick of Hawthorn and North Melbourne's junk games.

Basketball is a better sport anyway, I like AFL but Basketball has so many exciting close finishes.

Fortune on their side!! Get over it Rucker. MU were beaten by the better side, fair and square.

Rucker was right that Melb had all the big names in their team. On paper Melb should have won 3-0.
But Rucker was wrong when he said it was good fortune for the Jackies to win. Instead it was proof that a champion team can beat a team of champions.

      Well said!
I can’t say that this years final games series was good bb to watch. Too low scoring and the winning of games was not very conclusive far too flakey at times.

I think Rucker hit the nail on the head. Potentially it’s easier to win a championship at the NBL level with a less talented but longer standing team.
Compared to those teams which each year lose most of your players and coaches to the NBA. Let’s be real no players from this Tassie team are a good fit for that league and I think NBL teams need to recruit to their level.
For example Sydney! It like a near complete starting line reset every single season.

    • @iggyblitz8739
      @iggyblitz8739 5 місяців тому +1

Well actually what's being completely missed is how well Tassie play as a team,, how well they executive, how important the coaching style is for a team like them ( Roth places a high importance on team execution with great plays) and how their gritty defence.makes them champions over individual performances, having said that they still do have individually brilliant players that also work within the structure and culture of the team.that don't try and overplay as individuals J McVeigh is on the rise as a star in any league and he just gets better and better.

@@iggyblitz8739 Yeah we get that. I suppose my point is why this is. Its easier to play as a team when your team roster is not changing every year as is the case for a lot of teams. Its hard to say you have the same team when so much changes year on year.
The players in teams in the NBL are either:
      1) no longer good enough for the NBA
      2) want to make the NBA but aren't good enough yet
      3) never would be a good fit for the NBA.
If the NBL focuses on players who would never make the NBA (like the Jackies players mostly are), then you can be sure they'll be with you for at least two seasons as a starting 5. I don't think locals playing off the bench counts. I think as a fan this more rewarding too.
The NBL should create a rule that the starting 5 is mostly local and give longer term contracts 2-3 years minimum to Aussie locals
