It’s ironic you posted this video because I first found your channel through your initial Mac Face & Body video. I had never tried a Mac foundation as I’d heard many people say they caused breakouts. This foundation is beautiful and has never broke me out!! The technology which makes the very thin formula become “thicker” (in a good way) as it is rubbed into the skin is so unique.

There really is no other foundation like this! I’ve been using it for years and have tried a TON of all the hyped up foundations and ALWAYS come back to this simply because I love the skin like feel look and the finish on this foundation and wear throughout the day is AMAZING! great video on how to apply and build up for coverage!

I've been using face and body for over a decade. It's the GOAT 🐐 totally agree that it gets better as the hours go by. I can apply it before lunch, do running around, go out for dinner and drinks. Sleep in it and it STILL looks great when I wake up. I also don't feel it on my skin.
For special occasions I do the adding pro longwear concealer trick too. An artist at MAC showed me how. Great tip!

When you bought n5 , and mixed it with n1, knowing n5 was too dark could you have went back to say n4 or n3 , sorry I'm trying find the correct shade , so far I have c3 but not sure if it's the right shade on listening to your review with the C actually meaning warm and not cool . Ty

Hi Mandy! I recently rediscovered my MAC Face and Body! I have never used my fingers to apply. I'm gonna try that today! My color i use is N3 and I am floored by how pretty it is! I say that because I soooo many foundations and the perfect one was in my drawer all this time!😁👌

I love LOVE Mac F&B and it has always been my go-to. I noticed you only used one hand to apply which took longer than it can. In the AM, I want to get ready as quickly as possible! Because friction is important to get that tackiness, I just rub some between my fingers on both hands for about 20-30 secs (or until I start to feel some resistance) and then apply using both hands in a circular and patting motion using both hands. Second layer, if needed, again rub between fingers first then tap on face. The friction of the rubbing between fingers first helps it start to thicken/get tacky so it applies quicker. This is a fast application and looks SO amazing! It kills me when I see people using a brush or sponge to apply it!
So glad you love it too. Yes, I like to apply it with one hand personally because I have very reactive skin and it gets super red if I am too intense in my rubbing in of products. I find this way keeps the redness down for me, but it definitely works great your way too. :)
I love this as a foundation mixer - my current favorite blend is the it cosmetics original cc cream with the face and body. More coverage plus an amazing finish that lasts like crazy! (I have very dry, dehydrated skin with a bunch of redness, for reference :) ) And I use a brush with that combo :) I need to try out the fingers with the foundation by itself though! The finish on your skin was perfection.

This is my all time favorite foundation! I love the finish, the wear and the effect it gives my skin. Such an underestimated foundation. I'm in c3 and I always buy 2 bottles of the 4.0 oz. Bottle just so I'm always covered.

I love this foundation too. However I have lots of hyperpigmentation on my face and neck. Any recommendations to mix it with?? Bc I do love it but like I said, I have a lot of hyperpigmentation. Thanks y’all. Oh I live in the south so it’s 100 degrees here, I work in healthcare, I wear a mask all day, and I’m going through menopause so yeah lol. HELP PLEASE..

I’ve been adding faceNbody to my tinted sunscreen rubbing it in perfection!!! I sweat like a faucet when I get hot my face and head sweat 😓 uncontrollably it’s very unfortunate this holds up once the sweating calms down I don’t have weird wet marks all over it just settles right down still looks awesome

It took me forever to finally buy this! There was allways something new and "trending" to try first. But I will always have a bottle or two from now on. I'm a man and it takes some effort to get foundation to look undetectable on me, but Face and Body doesn't even catch in my stubble!

I love this foundation! 😍 I agree that you don't need aply any primer first, but I love to use it with the Becca Backlight priming Filter. I only aply this foundation with my fingers, is very easy and for me I have the best results. New subscriber here 😊

I have heard that this isn't great for oily skin, but I am so intrigued by this and always have been.
I am hoping stores open again one day where you can get a sample; if they even give out samples anymore. :(
I had $20 off at Macy's so I decided to pick it up anyway. This way if I don't like it, I can always chalk it up to a drugstore purchase gone wrong! Goodness knows I've made plenty of drugstore mistakes. There are also plenty of people I can.pass this along to if it doesn't work.
Prior to March I went to the Mac counter at my Macy’s and told I was interested in trying the MAC face and body...the artist told me I wouldn’t like it and moved on to someone else! Needless to say, that Macy’s has since closed permanently and I lost my closest MAC counter! I was in shock at her delivery to me and just kinda walked away! I’ll have to check it out in the future! Gorgeous look, my friend! 🥰🥰🥰
Karen Head -I also had a very negative experience at a Macy’s MAC counter over an other issue. (I was told not to bother looking at shimmer eyeshadows because I was too old.)

I’m interested in trying this but my concern is that working it in would disrupt the layer of sunscreen on my face leaving my face unprotected. Looks beautiful on you and your skin is so pretty!
If you use a chemical sunscreen I would let it set for 15ish minutes to create the protect layer you're looking for and then apply makeup on top.
Alot of chemical sunscreens from k-beauty leave lovely finishes for applying makeup on top of on by design. I like the missha with the pink top for a matte almost powdery finish, or canmake mermaid gel for a light not to heavy bit of hydration.
It's not the point of the video or your question, but I also recommend a powder foundation with spf or spf powder for light/no makeup days. Pur pressed mineral foundation is good for a smidgen of spf, some coverage and a very skin like texture, or again K beauty has some higher spf powder with varying levels of coverage. I have a few that are like setting powder sheer with a pa+++ rating so I can pack it on for a really lazy sunscreen reapplication. And, of course, a cushion foundation usually has a high spf rating. I wouldn't be the cushion foundation as my sole spf application, but I always feel good when I touch up knowing that I'm reapplying a high spf product.
This was long, but I'm very passionate about spf feeling good to apply and be as easy as possible cause I'm lazy.

Thank you for re-reviewing this! I wanted to check with you via watching this video, to see if you set this with powder bc I noticed many ppl say they do not want to ruin the "glowy" finish this gives. To that, I say try a setting spray, but maybe it wouldn't work with this, anyway. I did not understand which other product, or foundation, you said you mixed into FAB for the client who needed more coverage. I will look in the info box to see if you mentioned it, but I'm always interested in which products happen to work well together when combined as you described, and since this is my #1 foundation for when I want to be sure to look fairly good for a few hours, I dont want to miss any new ideas, or old ideas, on a good way to use this.☺
Edited to add: I have this foundation in both C2 and N2 and also a bottle of the white mixing medium as well. I'm now storing then all in the refrigerator because I've heard a lot of ppl say that this can turn a little strange if it gets too hot or old. I've only had it for about 6 months.
Hmmm....I haven't had mine turn bad, especially after 6 months, but keeping it in the fridge definitely won't hurt. I like to mix it with the MAC Prolongwear concealer for more coverage. I just did that on a client this past weekend and it never ceases to look amazing. There are a lot of powders that won't dial down the glowy look. Some that come to my mind are the Glo Skin Beauty Perfecting Powder and the Hourglass Veil Powder. :)

As soon as you said 'a swing' I had a nasty feeling I knew what you were going to say. The same happened to me and it knocked my front teeth out... but then I was only five and at least they grew again. But I hope your lip heals up quickly, I feel your pain 😳.
I love MAC Face & Body foundation. I usually use a stipling brush, but I'll definitely have a go at using my fingers. If it makes my skin look as flawless as yours, it'll be well worth the try 💙.

If you want more coverage in some areas you could also mix in some Prolongwear concealer for fuller coverage too.

Can you recommend a drugstore concealer that will work well with this foundation please.
I haven't had a concealer that doesn't work with it so far. My fave from the drugstore is the Revlon Candid. :)

Hey Marni! I haven't had any issues with any of my SPFs under this foundation; most shouldn't be a problem. :)
I have pigmentation and this foundation didint work for me....I cant use this because my imperfection are visible ...The coverage is too lite...but your face look fantastic with it

That is truly a unique foundation - you have to experience it to understand - I wasn’t interested until I started getting dry. I would never use a sponge. My dog’s head hit my mouth as hard as you can imagine (bad timing) and I had a fat purple lip for a week!!
Oh no!! Yes, mine also turned purple the day after this. Not fun at all!
I was wondering when mixing prolong concealer how to choose shade ...I use N3 in FNB..but what shade concealer?. Do they have corresponding shades?
They don't have the same shade numbers...the prolongwear concealers are like the rest of their foundations (ex. NC25, NW37). I personally wear NC25 in the prolongwear concealer.
Do you know what shade I’d be if I wear 220N in Anastasia Luminous foundation? I tried the MAC shade finder but depending on my lighting it changes! It picked a NW25 and then I did it again and it said C3! So confused.

I tried a sample of this foundation and loved it, but it broke me out. I’m not sure what ingredient in the foundation my skin doesn’t like. Has anyone els had this same reaction?

Same. It’s my favorite too;( I still wear it but only on a special occasion and I make sure I wash it off really well and do a mask after.
Could be the dimethicone. My skin reacts badly to that silicone too.
Mac F&B is a cult favorite for a reason. It is light , radiant natural coverage that so many other products are trying to achieve . It's 4 oz. Very cost effective compared to other products. I have used it almost daily for years. It's has a form filmimg technology that enables the product to enhance your skin and help it glow. Your hands are the only way to use this product . The warmth of your hands gently rubbing allows the chemistry to thicken and set up. Mandy is correct, slight tapping on layer two in areas will add more coverage. If you need / want more than that then this is not your product.

Is the Dior face and body the same? I never know which primer to use with which foundation. I have foundation ball up . I have been using the Charlotte Tilbury magic cream . Which foundation plays well with that? Thanks and have a great day!
Donna Nixon great question, I have always heard the formulas were comparable. Loved to know if this technique is applicable to the Dior.
I don’t find them to be the same at all in my opinion. Dior is much heavier coverage and has a more matte finish. I can apply the Dior with a brush and have it apply fine. I think the only comparison to make between the two is that they both can be used on the face and body. Hope this helps! Oh, and as far as the magic cream....it should be fine with most foundations. The trick with that is to use a tiny amount because a little goes a long way. And if you have time, let it sink in a bit before applying foundation.

Hey! This video contains wrong information. "NC" (Not Cool) refers to Warm undertones and "NW" (Now Warm) refers to Cool undertones. However, in the Face and Body Foundation, "N" is Neutral, "W" is Warm and "C" is Cool. You mentioned that "C" is Warmer and "W" is Cooler, but that isn't the case with this fondation. That only happens when there's an "N" (Not) before the undertone. You should probably update the description box with the correct information.

Thank you for this !!! I was curious on your thoughts about the shades - If I'm REALLY neutral and super pale and just want to even out redness - should I mix in N1 + C1 + White for the perfect shade?
You probably don't need to mix both the n and the c, just one of those and the white should work. And if you have a good deal of redness, I would look into the C. The warmer undertones will help balance out the redness. :)

I’m oily love the finish but it doesn’t last on me don’t know why ! But I’ll try it again ! It last 3 hours and I get extremely oily. ❤️ I agree glass skin ! When I have mature skin clients that want coverage I mix this one in and they love it !

Hi, I am warm toned and cool too..I got c3 and just a tad too yellow. If I mixed a drop of n3 do you think it would balance it or should I just go down to c1 and mix?
The C line in general is going to be yellow, so if you are wanting to balance it, I would go with a shade from the N line. :)

How well does it work for wearing on your legs in the summer? Will it come off on the car seat? Thanks Mandy!
I haven't tried it on my legs for that, but I have used it on brides backs and chests before and there hasn't been an issue. I just haven't tried it all day on legs against car seats, so I would hate to say wrong.
Did you try the radiance version yet? I’m curious why you mixed shades and not use N3 say.
I haven't, and it's because these were the shades that I have. :)

Yes, I find it does. The lighter weight, serum best will be the best to use under something of this consistency. La Roche Posay makes great ones.

@@jodyasmith3666 Not the same at all. Dior just copied the bottle and name . Dior is a more mediumish type coverage without the radiance of Mac.
I agree with Lauren....to me they are completely different. Dior is more matte and heavier coverage and also feels heavier on the skin. 🥰

I love this makeup and was about to repurchase, but I have to wear a face mask every day (I'm at University and study in the library a lot) and face masks are mandatory. Do you think that this foundation wouldn't hold up well under a face mask? Thank you hoping you can give me your opinion ♥️
Hi there!!! I don't think this is the worst candidate for mask wearing, but for an all day thing, I would definitely check into powder foundation. I used to be so against it, but I have fallen in love recently, and NOTHING holds up like it under a mask. I have a ranking video where I talk about 15 different ones. I hope that may help!

Thanks for your tips on using Face and Body! I have been contemplating purchasing this foundation for a while, but cannot tell from swatches online whether N1 would be light enough for me. How light is N1? For reference, I wear NC15 in Mac Studio Sculpt and NC10 or NW13 in Mac Studio Fix Fluid. Unfortunately, lightening F&B with the white shade is no longer an option -- it seems to have been discontinued. :( I hope you can offer some guidance!
I don't currently have N1 in my kit, so I can't recall the exact lightness. I do still have some of the white left, so I just use that as a mixer. Temptalia's blog has a great foundation matching formula that would probably be a great help.

I am not sure why that is. I know that seems to be a common thread with MAC foundations which is really unfortunate. So sorry!
How does it compares to the Dior backstage foundation ?
I find it has less coverage and is a bit more hydrating than the Dior.
I have the MAC studio fix and it smells SO BAD! Like motor oil or something. Does this have a similar odor? I love the MAC foundation but can’t wear it because of the smell.
I don't find this has the same smell, but I definitely know the smell you are talking about. The studio fix smells like paint thinner for sure!
I'm dying to try this! I've never tried anything MAC before...it's on the top of my list when I can finally get color matched!

No, I think NARS has more coverage and is a bit less luminous on the skin. :)
Can you address how to use this to add a little cover to my super white hands and feet on a hot summer day. Would this Work, almost like a self tanner?
I probably wouldn't use it daily only because it would get expensive, but it could work in that respect for sure.

I feel like this oxidizes on me and highlights my pores. Idk how to blur pores w/o silicone based primers.. I'll def try it with some pro longwear concealer

Whenever my foundations are starting to look too cakey and unflattering I know it's time to go back to my fav Face & Body foundation, I don't know why I bother straying. It's pretty much the only liquid foundation that I enjoy.
It is definitely one that never fails for sure!
Would you apply sunscreen before the foundation?
Yes for sure. I always wear SPF under all of my foundations, even the ones that have spf in them as well.
Hi Mandy! I was told the Mac face and body is going to be discontinued. Stock up now on the large bottles while you can! Lol

@@MandyDavisMUA I was watching a review on it just now and apparently Mac said the “radiance” one is the same formula with newer shades, however the UA-camr I was watching did a side by side comparison on her face (radiance vs original) and it looked like the radiance one was much more dewy and sheer/less coverage. She compared the ingredients and they do seem to be the same except one ingredient that was towards the bottom was moved towards the top. Not sure why they looked different on her face. The original looked nicer and more natural in my opinion but hopefully you’ll like the radiance one. Looking forward to seeing more reviews on it! ☺️ i just ordered two 120ml bottles of the original FB on Mac’s website since it appears they still have some shades in stock for now before they completely phase it out 🙈
