Gambino Mafia Underboss & Hitman Tells All | Sammy “The Bull” Gravano

  • Known by most as “Sammy The Bull”, Salvatore Gravano was born on March 12th, 1945 in Bensonhurst, a Brooklyn neighborhood with a predominantly Italian-American population to Gerry and Kay Gravano, both of whom hailed from Sicily. Gravano fell into crime at an early age. Around the age of ten, his bicycle was stolen by a group of older bullies. A group of mobsters who were watching from a café when he confronted the thieves remarked how little Sammy fought “like a bull” while taking on several larger kids at once, earning him the nickname “The Bull”.

I've heard a few interviews ask Sammy about what he misses about the life...the comradery/belonging to something, power, women, etc. but they always include clothes in that list. Everyone know Sammy was the guy in a sweatshirt, not the one wearing expensive suits. Good interview though for sure and I've listened to all Sammy's stuff.

Ever notice how Sammy talks about how important all the rules are? And how people still say he is pure Cosa Nostra etc. He literally broke every major rule there was! Did a hit without permission, became a rat, dealt drugs, is STILL taking about the secrets, sold out ( which I would have too) put innocent ppl in jail, he didn't have to tell on a juror he bribed. It cost him his wife and freedom. How did that guy turn on him? He wasn't even in the life he was just out of work and probably scared. I would have been. Shit. Ime jot knocking him just pointing out like he broke every rule in the book and didn't HAVE to. To say he is this and that and has the mentality is just crazy. Ya he sounds good but funny how anyone who can verify his stories are all dead. He talks of what he would have done like kill himself if asked by Paul and was GOIN to kill this guy and this and that. Which could have been true idk but he took out his own boss! That cant be in the rules. Lol. He is definitely a criminal and career one at that and has criminal thinking deeply embedded but to say he believes or beleived in Cosa Nostra more than anything is just not true. Especially now and after he turned. Like he went down for DRUG DEALING! Of all things. Again not knocking him I mean money has to be made but let's give this ultimate mafia guy stuff a rest. Again Ime not tough or questioning his criminal capabilities Ime just saying. Plus half of this stuff is a play and done for money. Let's not forget that. The actors just happen to be more credible and beleiveable. And to everyone who finds themselves rooting for and admiring and thinking highly of mob guys, how would.you think if you iid brother got hit on accident or your mother for being a witness just because she was out side. I know it's easy to forget and I find myself liking people. But these guys are CRIMINALS. It's not a family. It ls a CRIME family. But it is fun to play out scenarios in your head sometime jus don't forget that nothing matters till it happens to YOU.

One of the best discussions with him that I’ve seen. You allowed him to express his thoughts completely, which a lot of American hosts are not as restrained at. He explained things in the way I was interested in hearing him do, it sort of went another layer into his psychology than he usually gets into. 👍🏻

And if the nice, friendly, diplomatic business venture approach doesn’t work, then what’s the alternative?
That’s something the interviewer should have asked.
And there’s a difference between having “power” over people in how they run a business, whether it’s construction or loansharking, and being a popular internet attraction.
Sammy doesn’t have the power to make me watch his interviews, but I do it once and a while because he’s entertaining and informative and it’s free.
But again, power and popularity are two different things.
And I personally don’t like the added music.
Gravano is a very compelling story teller, and the pseudo soundtrack music is a distraction.

I love Sammy’s candid conversations about living life in the mafia. I believe him when he says John Gotti was going to throw him and Locasio under the bus to “ be the boss on the street”. I know it’s the worst thing to rat, but Sammy really didn’t have much choice if he wanted a chance to ever see the outside of a prison. I wonder if Locasio ever regretted his choice to not turn on John Gotti?!

No matter what he's done or not, I trust Sammy. I can't stand Michael Franzese, I think he's a joke. He's too self righteous, always telling the same tired stories and always ALWAYS trying to sell something. He's like an AMWAY pain in the ass, can't open his mouth without a sales pitch with some pseudo religious bullshit. Sammy is just down to earth and very candid with no strings attached.

    • @breakfastsurreal5650

Michael earned a ridiculous amount of money in that life. He also developed a very savvy legitimate business sense through his life experience. You can hate on him all you want but he's certainly no dummy and it doesn't erase the track record he has of being smart enough to cultivate capital at a high rate in a variety of settings on both sides of the law.
Edit: and what do you base the pseudo religious comment on?

@@breakfastsurreal5650 I don't hate him. I guess I'm just tired of born again Christian fanatics who fancy themselves as motivational life coaches - especially those people who made their bones the old fashioned way. I don't need a killer telling me how to live my life because he found God all of a sudden. I trust Sammy because, at the very least, he owns his crimes. Franzese always has an excuse as to why he got pinched or why his father drew the ire of the Feds. Yeah, he was framed, the same old song and dance of organized crime.

Personally i actually like sammy. Im old school and was running around on the street since i was a kid. Ive always lived by the code of "if you willingly involve yourself in a crime with co defendants that means you accepted the risks to go with the rewards so never snitch if you get caught period". However in sammys case hes one of the few people who i actually find it hard to hold his decisions against him due to not only john scheming to throw him under the bus to get himself free, but things john said and did to get them all pinched in the first place. Of course i wouldn't have the same opinion if not for the fact that john was trying to sacrifice sammy for his own hide, but the utter stupidity and cluelessness of john gotti is almost unbelievable! Hed get angry or in the mood to boast and have the audacity to start talking in detail with names of the guys he killed, why he killed them and then hed continue his genius streak of talking about the who, what, why, when etc about the criminal conspiracy to which he was the boss on tape!

We're losing respect??? a lot??? we already lost it. I can vouch for my situation that occur with me a month ago very quickly I looked out for a friend of mine that was on a register I worked in quick service for a very long time and my longest thing was 5 years. And I've been living out New Bedford Bristol county for a very long time five years now it's a long time for me anyway I grew up in Boston I was a teenager when I started bucking around out there and eventually ended up planting my feet when I was a kid I grew up in Brockton. I want to say a good portion of Massachusetts is my home actually if I count the 14 years of off and on homelessness. A month ago I told him hey you got $8 bills hanging out of your register you might want to fix that real quick had got called up front, and I fixed the form on camera fixing the money form shut the register nothing in my hands went and told them y'all straighten it always like thank you so much an hour later I'm fired now I've been working at this particular location now a year and a half and I've given them nothing but the most respect is maintenance and sanitation anything I wanted from the freezer or the back room always went and got it and I've been like that in every job I've ever worked in there is no respect there is no trust. In order to gain respect it's vice versa and I think I can say for myself anyway running with my crew as long as I did and I established it out on Mass Ave in Boston 617 Mass Ave archangels. Did a lot of community service that a lot of outreach as well as did our dirt 10 counts of check fraud on my head spread the money around in the courthouse you get a second chance. I've gotten more ability to do what I've had to do for my family on the streets than ever and legitimate businesses or working in the legitimate world of employment and labor I can speak for myself anyway my crew if they were here and if they ever read this comment you guys know the deal 7 years of clean sobriety never even in my worst days addicted to heroin have I ever stolen a dime from anyone who hide me again I can speak for myself and I just want to back that up real quick I ain't trying to call this guy out on his channel for anything I just want to really correct him on the fact that it's been gone for a very long time and trust needs to come back people need to stop looking at one another politically religiously financially racially culturally and get to what's real which is the being and until we can get to that I know I fly my cut sleeves everyday I've been flying cut sleeves since I was 15 years old through my reunification process with my kids as well as with my wife you know everyone else in my crew off the streets with their families doing what they got to do and we all stay in contact with one another and we're all going through it right now there's no Miranda rights anymore in the United States of America they weren't b*********** folks there's no trust there's no employment in my area of Massachusetts Bristol county New Bedford Massachusetts there's no employment and I can go on and on and on what's really wrong with the United States and what's really happening but I'm going to leave my comment here all I know is when I put my uniform on my cut sleeves and I go out in public in my area people know they can count on me
