KTLA 5 Morning News team receives Award of Excellence from Hollywood Chamber of Commerce

- The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce presented the KTLA 5 Morning News team with an Award of Excellence in celebration of the newscast's 30th anniversary.
Eric Spillman and Sam Rubin helped Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Rana Ghadban unveil the Walk of Fame-style star presented to the station.
Debuting on July 8, 1991, the KTLA Morning News featured anchors Carlos Amezcua and Barbara Beck.
30 years later, the Morning News show has extended into an hourslong program that begins at 4 a.m. Monday through Friday and takes viewers all the way into the afternoon. More on the celebration and history at ktla.com/30.

Congrats to Karla man when I live in L.A I grew up in the 1970 1980'. and if I have only known that the Iconic Soul Train Dance show was. tape in the Ktla studios I would have been a legendary Soul Train dancer.
RIP Sam. I remember watching you for years and years and your attitude and vibes always brought a smile to my face. Your personality was so genuine and sincere and it showed the type person of person you were, and the heart that you had. Rest in peace buddy, thanks for being you. You will most definitely be missed by many.

My husband grew up watching the ktla morning news.... now being 50 years old and still watching the ktla news in the morning on roku in queen creek Arizona... I miss southern California alooot.

I agree with everyone What took so long? If Johnny Grant (such a nice guy) was still alive, you would have had it years ago. When I temp relocated to Massachusetts, I had Dish Network hook me up with the Morning News.

Ktla has a weather segment every 10 mins. Its so annoying. Why not mix in a sports segment instead
You know I liked KTLA but the recent firing of your news anchors and just how you treated them is enough for me to stop watching and unsubcribe to your YT channel. You can't do your employees dirty and expect people to still watch. For Mark and Lynette!

Sorry I'm rephrasing it came out wrong about being in a drought here in California when it rains not that it rains much but when it does they let it go straight into the ocean and they're doing the same thing like they're doing with the gas prices water is free water rains but they don't conserve it yes we all have to pay for the services that's acceptable but why in the world do they let it go straight into the oceans
