thank you for the very informative video. We actually just got back from a 4 week trip to Albufeira, Portugal. It was our first time in Portugal. We did two organized one-day tours organized by a travel rep in our hotel and we are so happy to have done it since we didn’t have a car. We did one trip which went all the way west to Sagres. amazing! the other tour went all the way east to Tavira! so nice. . Both trips gave us a good ideasabout what to expect should we decide to go back next year. We also took bus # 57 from Albufeira to Lagos and we are so happy to have done that! BEAUTIFUL! we also visited Faro which had a lot of history and an amazing old cobblestone centre core with cafes, stores and museums. We also have our top three choices on where to stay next year and seems to change over time! so funny.we will take your advice next year and visit Carvoeiro. Many Canadian expats told us to Also visit Alvor. Like you, we are leaning towards choosing Lagos as our “ home-base” next year!
It sounds like you had an amazing trip! Thanks for the tip with checking out Alvor and using the bus as well. We loved the Algarve and can see us parking ourselves there for months at a time. Thanks Chris and Jim great video and information. I am looking to book 10 nights 11-21 October and am thinking Carvoeiro....your clip has made me think it's right for us - and close by other areas for day trips
Thanks for the information. We are going for 2 nights and 3 days. My online research pointed to Lagos but then my friend stayed in Cavoeiro and just got back and enjoyed it. It will just be me and my Husband (late 40s). We will have a car. I would like to see as much as possible of the Algarve and still be able to enjoy it. What is your recommendation?
Thank you so much for watching 🙏 honestly they are all so beautiful! Lagos, Cavoerio and Travira at our favourite places. Lagos is bigger.. the other 2 are smaller and beautiful.. you probably won’t have more time than just seeing those 3 but.. so worth it!

Vilamoura has got to be up there (plus Quinta do Lago and Vale de Lobo) also that make the ‘Golden Triangle’ in the Algarve

I have heard it pronounced as Car-vo-where-oh with the emphasis on the where syllable, but i enjoyed your Car-very-oh too.
