I should be able to pretty comfortably get both Astra and Evelyn, though how much I'll be left with going into the following patch is worrisome. I'm also quite relieved to know that Astra's engine isn't terribly important, and Evelyn has Marcato as a really solid option.
Yeah current patch i was avle to get miyabi and her wengine even when losing the 50/50 for the wengine, and i still have 45 pulls for next patch. Although i did have 50 pulls before 1.4 started already.
Yeah i was impressed. Consider that I pulled Yanagi and lighter. The previous patch, I then pulled miyabi and her w-engine day one of this patch. I only brought the Battle pass and the monthly thing, and I was on par with every content when the patch started, and now I have 22k polycrome

Really like the part about W Engine since many were saying to pull it. I got her M1 instead and just used an A rank engine and she slaps as hell. Hope i can reach that ATK target with substats.
Finally bashful demon mention! Most of the guides I've seen don't mention it. I'm gonna try that just because I have 3 S5 Bashful Demon in my account and only 1 kaboom. I think it is possible to get good up time on it.

Astra will be this game's Ruan Mei. Interpret that however you'd like based on Ruan Mei's launch flexibility vs her current day significance.
Astra's got legs for days. Another must-pull for me. I'm glad Bashful Demon is a very competitive W-Engine for her, as I also want to save pulls for Evelyn.
More important for Harumasa would be how much does the combo difficulty go down for him with Astra? His combos are fine for the negative edge manual chain stuff, but for some reason doing the aim shot just feels real clunky. Like when you try to transition from the slashes to a aim shot you do not get it as fast as you should.
i also think astra is not better for zhu yuan over nicole, for one simple reason: in the case of mobbing, nicole can group enemies together and zhu yuan can hit them all at once, because she's a pierce-type character
What do you think of pairing S11 with Astra? I believe S11 benefit from the chain attack trigger for a better fire surpression uptime, but I am not sure which team composition works best. Personally, I don't have lighter/qingyi, my current setup is Caesar-Lucy-S11. I wonder if swapping Lucy with Astra will ruin the burn uptime for the 4piece passive. Arguably I can try Astra Yanagi Piper, though they don't really benefit from quick assist..
The difference between Caesar-Lucy and Caesar-Lighter is night and day, Caesar doesn’t provide nearly enough stun on her own. Lighter-Astra will probably be fine, but Caesar’s IR and pseudo-healing is also invaluable. I guess we’ll see how it goes, but I very much doubt Soldier is getting better supports until the proper release of Obol Squad.
It's kinda weird that the first limited support is so close to M6 4 stars or other non-support units, it feels like you're pulling her just to have another option rather then a significant account upgrade

Okay I’m now a bit lost for choice here, so I’m asking for help: I have two reliable teams atm. Team 1 is Zhu Yuan, Caesar, and Nicole (M6). Team 2 is Jane, Seth, and Rina (chose Rina to trigger disorder). If I pick Astra, I get a support that could be a part of a new team, or can be put in one of these two teams, however, I don’t see how Jane benefits from her switch-ins, and I don’t believe Zhu Yuan needs more than 1 quick assist to work. HOWEVER, a support is a support. Do I get Astra, do I leave Astra, or do I try to pull both Astra and Evelyn (I’ve saved so much polychrome)
Jane benefits of quick assistis because she can recharge her sachow jump and Zhu Yuan gets more bullets which can help a lot building up decibels faster. And another thing important as well: she can make Nicole more flexible for other teams, plus as you said "A support is a support". Also we'll be lacking on Ether units according to devs.
The "support" factor is greatly overrated. We have had a "support" character release pretty much every patch since 1.2, people just refuse to acknowledge them as supports even though that is literally all they do. Qingyi is a support, Lighter is a Support, Caesar is a support and as far as "pull value" goes I still don't see Astra being anywhere near as valuable as Caesar currently is.

If you are interested in climbing Tower, Cesar is still the best support no contest, and new Tower is coming. Also Cesar is still must pull if you are using a lower tier physical DPS (Neko, Corin, Billy), aside from buffs, she helps to activate their passives which no other support can do.
Any thoughts on Yanagi-less Miyabi teams? Maybe even Nicole+Astra for the quicker corruption+disorder procs? To me it seems Nicole and Astra are great together because they buff/debuff different stats. Also a bit curious about M1 Zhu Yuan in the DPS slot, probably not better than Qingyi but it should be better than Anby right? (Yes I got 2 Zhu Yuans in one ten pull then lost 50/50 on Qingyi, sue me)
Honestly for current content you'll do overkill damage anyways, but just for the fun of it: In theory the miyabi nicole astra combo could work given that you apply corruption quick enough, but nicole is easily swapped out by any anomaly character (piper or soukaku for example) and gives much better value on your other team with zhu yuan. I would go with the line up: Miyabi - piper/soukaku - astra Zhu Yuan - Stun (anby, koleda, lycaon etc.) - Nicole Zhu yuan - astra team is not really worth it because astra gives better value for miyabi, and nicole offers a bigger benefit as a support to zhu yuan due to her grouping

Basically in content that is weak to ice and ether is the Miyabi team an option, especially if it’s resistant to fire since that is my current main Miyabi team (Burnice, Lucy). For Zhu Yuan my current single team is with Anby and Nicole, but it won’t be usable in electric resistant match ups. I’ll still pull Astra either way because I’m pretty sure I want to go for Evelyn. But I’m curious what other muses I can make of her. The recent reset of Deadly Assault made me realize Hoyo can just invalidate any character at will (maybe not Miyabi), in this case Jane so I want to diversify my team options basically.
@@bjornnilsson2941 In terms of where she can slot in Astra is a universal support. A pretty universal buff. She heals, she enables quick assists and chain attacks, buffs attack and crit dmg. There might be other more niche supports in the future who do this better than her but I think in every team so far that needs crit and atk she'd be an awesome support and counteract hoyo invalidating DPS characters. On the other hand any new supports are gonna have to beat her in buffing so she mandates powercreep.

Think I'm gonna pull Astra for Qingyi/Harumasa team, the combo already does nuts damage with Nicole if you play Harumasa right that extra damage is just gonna be nice. Although I do hope I pull Evelyn as well bc I think a sleeper pick is gonna be her + Astra + off fielder Koleda honestly. I got Koleda at m2 and can probably get her wengine so I'mma get lots of chain attack buff in if I get it

That can actually make AM a very solid flex on her. It could also benefit the Zhu Yuan team since the Zhu Yuan's disc drive set requires the enemy to be corrupted

Do bangoo attacks count to stack Kabooms passive? I know the boars obviously do.. it seems without the boars keeping full stacks on Kaboom would be kinda a pain compared to something like bashful demon since Astra does ex attacks randomly anyway
What I was really wondering about is how does M0W1 Astra change gear reqs for M1 Miyabi. I would assume 4-th disc stays ATK% for higher disorders (and because Astra already gives 25% CD) but what about the 5-th one? I assumed DMG% because def shred and def pen don't synergize too well and M0W1 Astra with 4p Astral Voice gives roughly 2.1 DMG% mainstats and 2.5 ATK% mainstats, but I'm very unsure and would appreciate any help with that.

As a Anton main, I think yes, it's a good choice to change to Marcato and as he said, we can even put Pen Ratio on slot 5 with 2 piece Puffer Actually this damage buffs also might combo well with Street Superstar
holy crap, i was into the first few mins of this but then when you went on a rant about not maximizing her kit on the ATK buff, i just cant man. if i didnt want to cap that atk buff i’d just use sokaku + lucy.
In my experience, I find jane better off damaging enemy without stun since some of bosses are so hard to build anomaly and too little stun window to fully capitalize caesar stun capabilities. Caesar may be great tho when starting a stage since she can stun mobs quickly and make jane into passion state mode with chain. But for hard mode bosses, maybe astra has the edge.
caesar is pretty much always valuable even without the stun bcuz she can hold the freedom blues set for jane. no other character can feasibly do that imo
@ i mean if u prefer hypercarry jane yes, but I use her with burnice and in most cases, jane pop her anomaly faster than burnice so freedom blues is not really helpful in this setup.
New player who started in 1.4... my M2W1 Miyabi team clears (Sokaku + Lyacon), but my 2nd team struggles hard. My second team is Harumasa. I currently have him with Grace + Nicole, but I do plan on getting Astra. Should I continue running the same Harumasa team with Astra? I dont have Qiqi and my Anby is M1. Would she be better than Grace in that team?
Qingyi would be a better 1st choice, but sadly Qingyi is 2nd banner. Best case scenario is giving Harumasa Qingyi and Astra. He loves Qingyi's stun window and appreciates the Chain from Astra (not mentioning other stuff).
So its a skip for me because I was looking to get her for Zhu team. Since a well built Nicole is just slightly worse then I might just skip this whole patch
If I am an M2 Miyabi haver, how viable is Miyabi/Astra/Nicole double support team? Can you get those buffs to sync right, or is just too messy? Obviously it won't be better than Yanagi, but ofc not everyone will have Yanagi or want team diversity.
Not too great, Nicole need to be played with stunner cause her buff/debuff is too short and will be meaningless if you just randomly throw it and Miyabi obv don't care about grouping. I guess you can time it with Miyabi's charge attack but honestly since you are fielding Miyabi alot due to m2, Cesar is better.
Are 16 atk subs correct? I have 12*3%, 10 flat subs and as far as I'm aware for 3429 atk I'm short exactly on 1 sub (since 2 flat subs is roughly 3% atk sub). Double checked it on Caesar since she has closest to Astra base attack (711vs715) and she has 3389 atk, Astra would had 3398 or 3397 or whatever. Or she gets some extra atk somewhere? Or it's simplification since 1-2 extra subs won't change all that much?
Definitely, although not by a lot. One thing that Soukaku does is give you freedom for your third slot to not have to be just Lycaon. You can run Lighter, Ceasar, Qingyi or even a second Support if you wish
@@maughtayoYou can literally use Astra with characters you listed with Ellen. Lighter and Qingyi just needs an attacker (Ellen) and Caesar just needs someone who does defensive assist ((also Ellen). Astra needs an anomaly or attacker (again Ellen). So idk what makes Soukaku different in that aspect, Astra gives as much freedom for the 3rd slot since most of Ellen's best teammates synergizes with her anyways. 💀
@@jjcalydon you cannot do Ellen + Astra + (Caesar/Lighter). The 2 nondps can activate their additional ability, but not Ellen (she wants ice or Victoria faction). And considering Ellen's additional ability is pretty important (up to 30% ice dmg), losing out on it is huge. Unless you think the buffs from Astra + (Caesar/Lighter) is big enough to offset that

Im gonna use the vault because i don't have bashful demon and i only have one buhboom and its on soukaku and yes i still play ellen and i need soukaku and ellen is still a great dps to this day. Definitely the best 1.0 dps out of all the gacha games that i play. Also, can someone tell me if i should give the vault to astra and keep the canon on soukaku or switch them?
How is this a huge plus. It makes her a bit easier to build, is that worth two more copies? Especially as you don’t really build her for dps, so what else are you rolling for, except ATK subs?

There are a lot of recommendable teams not mentioned That is not one of them You can try Nicole Astra Miyabi Burnice Astra Miyabi And a couple more, but you can't use a non calydon support with Lighter
I feel like Astra is being overhyped imo. Yes she's better than everyone we have but I feel like her role consolidation is already covered and our endgame isn't that hard to require the absolute steroids Astra brings, not to mention the healing. You want attack steroids? Lucy does half as much for the whole team, while working well with any Calydon member. Caesar works best with singular hyper carry comps with anti interrupt shield. Even soukaku has that same atk bonus and boosts ice even more. Biggest thing is quick assists and chain attacks, but like you said a lot of characters don't really care about those moves (but Evelyn does) so it's very niche. All in all, I'm going to skip and if I regret it later I can always get her on a rerun. If she hasn't been power crept lol
Given that her F2P a rank engine options are extremely competitive (even better than her sig in certain cases like with bashful demon) I would say her m1 is more worth it If you have either kaboom the cannon, bashful demon, or the vault at R5
My only issue with her is her gameplay; the fact she has none. Her standing on the battlefield and singing is pretty cool but Evelyn seems to be far superior strictly from a feel/gameplay standpoint. Mathematically she's great but I'm not really chomping at the bit to pull an agent designed to sit on the bench and root for the other two.
This may actually be the tipping point for me on deciding between pulling for Astra or grabbing Caesar on rerun. She seems strong but a bit too hands-off for my liking.
@remediedyawn My feeling exactly. Yanagi might be my favorite agents because you're involved in every step of the process that is playing her. Do I stance switch? Can I catch a parry if I do? I need to dodge; what next? EX into more combos? Burn a full mag of energy? Astra looks to be only as fun as the other two in your squad. I'll still pull her as she looks BiS for Evelyn, but I'm not supremely enthusiastic about it.

bashfull demon need you to "launching" an EX special atfack. Astra doesn't have EX Special Attack to begin with. her dmg considered EX special Attack DMG but not "launching" EX Special Attack

Okay I’m now a bit lost for choice here, so I’m asking for help:
I have two reliable teams atm. Team 1 is Zhu Yuan, Caesar, and Nicole (M6). Team 2 is Jane, Seth, and Rina (chose Rina to trigger disorder). If I pick Astra, I get a support that could be a part of a new team, or can be put in one of these two teams, however, I don’t see how Jane benefits from her switch-ins, and I don’t believe Zhu Yuan needs more than 1 quick assist to work. HOWEVER, a support is a support. Do I get Astra, do I leave Astra, or do I try to pull both Astra and Evelyn (I’ve saved so much polychrome)
Jane benefits of quick assistis because she can recharge her sachow jump and Zhu Yuan gets more bullets which can help a lot building up decibels faster. And another thing important as well: she can make Nicole more flexible for other teams, plus as you said "A support is a support".
Also we'll be lacking on Ether units according to devs.
The "support" factor is greatly overrated. We have had a "support" character release pretty much every patch since 1.2, people just refuse to acknowledge them as supports even though that is literally all they do.
Qingyi is a support, Lighter is a Support, Caesar is a support and as far as "pull value" goes I still don't see Astra being anywhere near as valuable as Caesar currently is.

She is very comparable to Ceasar. Not a must pull, but very good, with strong generic buffs and flexible teammate options

If you are interested in climbing Tower, Cesar is still the best support no contest, and new Tower is coming. Also Cesar is still must pull if you are using a lower tier physical DPS (Neko, Corin, Billy), aside from buffs, she helps to activate their passives which no other support can do.

Any thoughts on Yanagi-less Miyabi teams? Maybe even Nicole+Astra for the quicker corruption+disorder procs? To me it seems Nicole and Astra are great together because they buff/debuff different stats. Also a bit curious about M1 Zhu Yuan in the DPS slot, probably not better than Qingyi but it should be better than Anby right? (Yes I got 2 Zhu Yuans in one ten pull then lost 50/50 on Qingyi, sue me)
Honestly for current content you'll do overkill damage anyways, but just for the fun of it:
In theory the miyabi nicole astra combo could work given that you apply corruption quick enough, but nicole is easily swapped out by any anomaly character (piper or soukaku for example) and gives much better value on your other team with zhu yuan.
I would go with the line up:
Miyabi - piper/soukaku - astra
Zhu Yuan - Stun (anby, koleda, lycaon etc.) - Nicole
Zhu yuan - astra team is not really worth it because astra gives better value for miyabi, and nicole offers a bigger benefit as a support to zhu yuan due to her grouping
@ Thanks, but I was mainly looking at this from the point of Astra’s flexibility, as in how many teams can she slot into, and be an asset in. Basically in content that is weak to ice and ether is the Miyabi team an option, especially if it’s resistant to fire since that is my current main Miyabi team (Burnice, Lucy). For Zhu Yuan my current single team is with Anby and Nicole, but it won’t be usable in electric resistant match ups.
I’ll still pull Astra either way because I’m pretty sure I want to go for Evelyn. But I’m curious what other muses I can make of her. The recent reset of Deadly Assault made me realize Hoyo can just invalidate any character at will (maybe not Miyabi), in this case Jane so I want to diversify my team options basically.
@@bjornnilsson2941 In terms of where she can slot in Astra is a universal support. A pretty universal buff. She heals, she enables quick assists and chain attacks, buffs attack and crit dmg. There might be other more niche supports in the future who do this better than her but I think in every team so far that needs crit and atk she'd be an awesome support and counteract hoyo invalidating DPS characters. On the other hand any new supports are gonna have to beat her in buffing so she mandates powercreep.

I was a bit worried I'd have to go m0p1 Astra because of her atk requirements (TIL engine copies are called Phases), but I'm glad that's not the case. Still, that engine feels so enticing.
First, i thinks theres a change in her kit recently that she applies offield corruption like burnice does so its good for proc disorder especially for miyabi teams.

That can actually make AM a very solid flex on her. It could also benefit the Zhu Yuan team since the Zhu Yuan's disc drive set requires the enemy to be corrupted

What I was really wondering about is how does M0W1 Astra change gear reqs for M1 Miyabi. I would assume 4-th disc stays ATK% for higher disorders (and because Astra already gives 25% CD) but what about the 5-th one? I assumed DMG% because def shred and def pen don't synergize too well and M0W1 Astra with 4p Astral Voice gives roughly 2.1 DMG% mainstats and 2.5 ATK% mainstats, but I'm very unsure and would appreciate any help with that.

As a Anton main, I think yes, it's a good choice to change to Marcato and as he said, we can even put Pen Ratio on slot 5 with 2 piece Puffer

holy crap, i was into the first few mins of this but then when you went on a rant about not maximizing her kit on the ATK buff, i just cant man. if i didnt want to cap that atk buff i’d just use sokaku + lucy.
In my experience, I find jane better off damaging enemy without stun since some of bosses are so hard to build anomaly and too little stun window to fully capitalize caesar stun capabilities. Caesar may be great tho when starting a stage since she can stun mobs quickly and make jane into passion state mode with chain. But for hard mode bosses, maybe astra has the edge.
caesar is pretty much always valuable even without the stun bcuz she can hold the freedom blues set for jane. no other character can feasibly do that imo
@ i mean if u prefer hypercarry jane yes, but I use her with burnice and in most cases, jane pop her anomaly faster than burnice so freedom blues is not really helpful in this setup.

You can do hyper carry Miyabi with Lycaon and Astra. Or disorder with someone like Piper, where you use Piper to generate stacks for Miyabi.
New player who started in 1.4... my M2W1 Miyabi team clears (Sokaku + Lyacon), but my 2nd team struggles hard.
My second team is Harumasa. I currently have him with Grace + Nicole, but I do plan on getting Astra. Should I continue running the same Harumasa team with Astra? I dont have Qiqi and my Anby is M1. Would she be better than Grace in that team?
Qingyi would be a better 1st choice, but sadly Qingyi is 2nd banner.
Best case scenario is giving Harumasa Qingyi and Astra. He loves Qingyi's stun window and appreciates the Chain from Astra (not mentioning other stuff).
I would say for harumasa, qingyi is a better pull as it is much better than using anby however in an ideal scenario getting both would be great

If I am an M2 Miyabi haver, how viable is Miyabi/Astra/Nicole double support team? Can you get those buffs to sync right, or is just too messy? Obviously it won't be better than Yanagi, but ofc not everyone will have Yanagi or want team diversity.
Not too great, Nicole need to be played with stunner cause her buff/debuff is too short and will be meaningless if you just randomly throw it and Miyabi obv don't care about grouping. I guess you can time it with Miyabi's charge attack but honestly since you are fielding Miyabi alot due to m2, Cesar is better.
Are 16 atk subs correct? I have 12*3%, 10 flat subs and as far as I'm aware for 3429 atk I'm short exactly on 1 sub (since 2 flat subs is roughly 3% atk sub).
Double checked it on Caesar since she has closest to Astra base attack (711vs715) and she has 3389 atk, Astra would had 3398 or 3397 or whatever. Or she gets some extra atk somewhere?
Or it's simplification since 1-2 extra subs won't change all that much?

Definitely, although not by a lot. One thing that Soukaku does is give you freedom for your third slot to not have to be just Lycaon. You can run Lighter, Ceasar, Qingyi or even a second Support if you wish
@@maughtayoYou can literally use Astra with characters you listed with Ellen. Lighter and Qingyi just needs an attacker (Ellen) and Caesar just needs someone who does defensive assist ((also Ellen). Astra needs an anomaly or attacker (again Ellen). So idk what makes Soukaku different in that aspect, Astra gives as much freedom for the 3rd slot since most of Ellen's best teammates synergizes with her anyways. 💀

The 2 nondps can activate their additional ability, but not Ellen (she wants ice or Victoria faction). And considering Ellen's additional ability is pretty important (up to 30% ice dmg), losing out on it is huge. Unless you think the buffs from Astra + (Caesar/Lighter) is big enough to offset that

I have a zhu yuan team, a burnice/piper/lucy team, and I'm thinking of pulling miyabi and getting lycaon from the 300 select for a miyabi/lycaon/sokaku team. Im gonna use the vault because i don't have bashful demon and i only have one buhboom and its on soukaku and yes i still play ellen and i need soukaku and ellen is still a great dps to this day. Definitely the best 1.0 dps out of all the gacha games that i play.

He said Kaboom is 1st best alternative to sig, Demon 2nd. It does make her easier to build as you need less ATK subs with 2pc ER and ER main stat.

I feel like Astra is being overhyped imo. Yes she's better than everyone we have but I feel like her role consolidation is already covered and our endgame isn't that hard to require the absolute steroids Astra brings, not to mention the healing. You want attack steroids? Lucy does half as much for the whole team, while working well with any Calydon member. Caesar works best with singular hyper carry comps with anti interrupt shield. Even soukaku has that same atk bonus and boosts ice even more. Biggest thing is quick assists and chain attacks, but like you said a lot of characters don't really care about those moves (but Evelyn does) so it's very niche.
All in all, I'm going to skip and if I regret it later I can always get her on a rerun. If she hasn't been power crept lol

Given that her F2P a rank engine options are extremely competitive (even better than her sig in certain cases like with bashful demon) I would say her m1 is more worth it

My only issue with her is her gameplay; the fact she has none. Her standing on the battlefield and singing is pretty cool but Evelyn seems to be far superior strictly from a feel/gameplay standpoint. Mathematically she's great but I'm not really chomping at the bit to pull an agent designed to sit on the bench and root for the other two.
This may actually be the tipping point for me on deciding between pulling for Astra or grabbing Caesar on rerun. She seems strong but a bit too hands-off for my liking.
@remediedyawn My feeling exactly. Yanagi might be my favorite agents because you're involved in every step of the process that is playing her. Do I stance switch? Can I catch a parry if I do? I need to dodge; what next? EX into more combos? Burn a full mag of energy?
Astra looks to be only as fun as the other two in your squad. I'll still pull her as she looks BiS for Evelyn, but I'm not supremely enthusiastic about it.

bashfull demon need you to "launching" an EX special atfack. Astra doesn't have EX Special Attack to begin with. her dmg considered EX special Attack DMG but not "launching" EX Special Attack
