    Hey in order to have the touch screen sit flat on the wall, did you need to recess some of the back of the monitor (ie: cutting out some of the wall)? I did a quote request from numerous Chinese suppliers for touch screens (interactive signage), and none of them were only +/- 20mm depth. Most had a smaller portion of the back that added 25mm to 32 mm more depth.

    • @GooliAth
      @GooliAth  8 місяців тому +2

      Yes, the ”sidewall” of the kitchen cabinet that the display sits on is cut out to make the display sit more flush to the wall.

      @@GooliAth Thank you for replying back so fast. I used Global Sources to obtain quotes, and I found the prices were cheaper than Aliexpress. It took some time to filter through all the quotes and review pictures, dimensions, etc and find some that were capable of being flat mounted, with some cut-outs in the wall. The one I ended up getting a sample of, seemed very close to yours.. same proc (RK3288), mem, camera, etc. all for $300. plus shipping. Still testing it as it just arrived yesterday. You can tell it was built strong, as it is quite heavy. I wanted the same look.. something that looked almost like a picture with very low profile... which is more of a challenge to find.

    • @MicheIIePucca
      @MicheIIePucca 8 місяців тому

      This is the sample I ordered to try out:
      redhat.systems/touchscreen1/specs.png
      redhat.systems/touchscreen1/touch_1.jpg
      redhat.systems/touchscreen1/touch_2.jpg
      Note, the specs page shows a completely flat back, but, when manufactured they used a slightly different case that causes it to not sit as flat. The touch_1 and 2 show "as built" images.

How did you set it up to require a touch on the screen to go back to the home assistant screen? I have the Dakboard set as the screensaver and lovelace as the start url but as soon as the camera detects me it goes straight to the start url.
    Also, did you cut a hole in the wall to fit it so flush?

      I bought a pair of monitors like this through a friend in Germany.
      The screen is used to run Kiosk in shops etc. The only thing on the display is the spec, unfortunately no name.
      Android is running on the monitor. It has a built in Rockchip. So it's like a big android tablet.
      Here is the spec of the monitor:
      * 24 ″ Interactive Digital Signage
      * Quad-core Cortex-A17 1.8GHz, RockChip RK3288
      * Ethernet RJ45, Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n.Bluetooth 4.0,4G
      * DC In, HDMI Output, 3.5mm Audio Jack, Micro USB OTG, USB 2.0 host, RJ45, POE, SD Card Slot, Microphone
      * Android 8.1 / 9.0
