Omg sry for double posting, but this game looks so awesome, super nice artwork and clean text easy to understand! Like the different classes and the randomness of exploration/fighting/allies/map discovery. Hope it goes well on Kickstarter :)
Thank you. Very enjoyable playthrough. During this entire video I asked myself: "Does this guy ever lose?" And in the end...... I admit that I was surprised. I really appreciate the authentic gaming. What other games in those genre and scope comes to your mind if one will ask for recommendations of similar creations?
My preference in solo and co-op gaming is to win more than I lose, so I usually don't play on the highest difficulty settings. That's one of the reasons I win a lot in my play videos :) And not sure there is a directly comparable game to this one... maybe other adventure games with upgrading and a timer? Claustrophobia (though that's competitive), Fireteam Zero, Gears of War, Cthulhu Death May Die, Journeys in Middle Earth... none are really the same, but share some elements.
Great play-through and looks like a pretty good game, thanks for doing this. I just backed it on Kickstarter. Some poor in-game choices during the playthrough, but that kinda also served as a tutorial on what not to do :D
Quick question as I backed this, do you have to complete all the actions of one ship/fleet before moving on to the next one? If you can take the actions staggered, @21:47 you could have just moved you drone specialist to pick up the key, then move the blind jump with the fleet. I know this is a tutorial more than an optimized playthrough, I'm just looking for rules clarifications. Thanks!
It's been a good while since I played. I recorded this a while before the KS started, and sent my copy on to another reviewer. But I THINK one player does all their actions at a time. But it'd be easy to house-rule it to be more simultaneous with mixing of actions.
@@OneStopCoopShop thanks for answering my question even with this being an older video. Im sure you are right. Probably a way to make it tougher. Thanks!
Check the Kickstarter preview link in the description. They have 3-d printer files. I’m hoping there is an option to add the minis to your pledge, since I don’t have a 3-d printer!
Greetings! This is a prototype, but I think a lot of elements are close to finalized, like the art. If you click the link for the "Kickstarter Preview" in the video description, you can look at the page there. They talk about upgrading components and the like.
Good timing with your comment! Peter and I just recorded a podcast review on the published version of the game. It went up last Sunday, if you didn't get a chance to listen yet. Hope you enjoy it!
On page 9 of the current rulebook, it clarifies that defeating enemies after a failed detection roll ALSO pacifies a system. The pacify action is only needed if you are in a system without detection (like if you start your turn in a system that was previously pacified).
This board-game has a 2.75 complexity level on BGG. As opposed to Cyclades who has 2.83. Can someone explain to me why? X-odus seems to be much more complex than Cyclades.

I know this was posted a while ago, but I just ordered the game because of your review. Thank you.
Awesome! Hope you enjoy it
@@OneStopCoopShop yes, also just found that you can play it on Tabletopia on your PC - if you can't buy the game, at least you can still play it.
@@michaelheppler991 oh nice!
Cheers for all these great play through videos. This game does look punishing! But good games are a good challenge as well!

IceCream Brainz oh absolutely. I was a dumb dumb in the final third especially ;)

Games looks Great! Is it on KS right now? Hope they make minis for each ship though looks a bit uncool having coloured wooden tokens :-/

Hi. Is this a Prototyp or the final Game Material? Greetings from Germany

Nicely done, in fact I shot over to the late pledge to get this game, there are 4 copies left.

Will give it a look later. I gave it a quick try on tabletopia. While it does not have the depth of Xia. It does have a good race feel.
Yeah, despite similar themes, it feels very different from xia
I have a question about first turn. Don't we need Pacify action to pacify the system? One more combat.

Maricel Bargan I don’t think it’s a very complex game. But I also haven’t played Cyclades, so cant help you with a comparison.
Great play through. I can definitely see this one is NOT for me.
David Griffin Happy to help out, even if I steered you away ;)
