I am pretty sure that the drivers are given leeway on certain corners at the end of long straights. There usually is a limit to how many times you can exceed the track limits. After that you get some type of penalty
Halo is unnescessary. A light car doesnt need it. You know why they introduced the halo? Because the current F1 cars are trucks. Even nico rosberg said that the new cars are so heavy and so unpredictable that the moment a driver loses control, only luck can save him. You want safer cars? The fia should make them lighter and smaller. Halo is just an alternative. It wasn't needed for 20 years because F1 cars were proper f1 cars not trucks.
