First time I have seen/heard her play, although I have previously read about her, she can play that piano! I would have liked to see a few frontal facial views to fully capture her emotion.
Exactly I dont care what other ppl say she is the best pianist alive and probably the best one we will ever see, absolutely amazing, she is just perfect, we're lucky to have her
I don't know where she ranks among the all-time greats, but I do know she is great for classical music. She is a dazzling star, and she gets people interested. Maybe more young people will take notice and listen to something other than Taylor Swift.
@@georgesealy4706 Yuja Wang is the ultimate UA-cam-era pianist, just as Rubinstein was the ultimate LP-era pianist. Neither would be possible without each being in the upper upper upper echelon of musicianship, but their careers and fame reflect the media they excel at. For Rubinstein, this means perfecting highly polished interpretively middle-of-the-road performances that average listeners would want to buy recordings of as quite strong renditions of the mainline view of the piece. This includes of course getting an exquisite, velvety lush sound from a Steinway concert grand. “What’s not to like?” With Yuja Wang, her excellence is in delivering thrilling, physically staggering performances that combine seemingly superhuman pyrotechnics with high emotion combined with refinement and good taste (similar to Lang Lang except for the refinement and good taste part, which he shows somewhere between 75-90% of the time, making up in the first categories for what’s lacked in the last). Yuja Wang also brings a great personality and intellectual curiosity to her performances: She thrives on challenging herself and discovering new things in every performance, with mental grasp of music as limitless as her physical technique. On top of this, she projects all these qualities very visibly in her stage persona along with her sexuality in provocative dress. She could almost be described as “a thinking-man-with-hormones’ version of Lang Lang,” except a far deeper and more thoughtful musician than that would suggest.
A wonderful performance full of dynamic and mood contrasts. This is a physically demanding concerto to play - Yuja makes it look effortless. Pity the end of the movement is missing.
Utterly wonderful - as far as it goes. But why oh why does it stop before the end of the movement? And can we have the second and third movements too, please?
Yuja Wang is an extraordinary musician always ready to defy convention and surprise us with unusual, unorthodox interpretations. In this case, the most startling of them all: ending the piece in the middle of a climactic phrase, just as the 1st movement coda is about to erupt. So tantalizing…. Then, launching right into the souped up Mozart Rondo alla Turca encore, skipping second and third movements altogether. This is as surprising and innovative a performance as I can remember. Wow, just wow!
Stop being so critical. Can you play ??.being a musician, it’s not the performance it’s about the feeling. They are wonderful. Don’t listen you have the optician. We all have an off button!!
The conductor G. Dudamel had to give up his job as music director of the Paris Opera after a short time. He was overwhelmed. It's great that he manages to press the right button on a tablet - many Parisians have seen it.
She is brilliant

Fabulous performance but cut off at the end! Why? so disappointing
AMO A YUJA WANG!!!
Yuja is undoubtedly the BEST classical pianist of today. She is also extremely beautiful and sweet. Congratulations.
Exactly I dont care what other ppl say she is the best pianist alive and probably the best one we will ever see, absolutely amazing, she is just perfect, we're lucky to have her
Best pianist alive, absolutely beautiful as always, perfect playing and presence in stage, we are lucky to haver her and I hope we do for decades more
Less ; less...
An outstanding way to begin the day! Thanks Yuja you are a bright positive light in less than encouraging times!
The times are more encouraging than they've been in four years.
I trust we will have Yuja for many more years. She is our treasure! ❤❤

Tchaikovsky knew how to write a concerto that would stand the test of time. Yuja hits it out of the park.
Very muddled audio mixing, mostly due to poor microphone placement. Much can be learned from the DSO. She deserves better.
Everything is perfection 🥰
This is truly Tchaikovsky of the 21st century. Magnificent!

Yuja you are an incredible package when you play those keys
Yuja is great....but this orchestra is poor....they were not prepared for this concert. Gosh, what a pity!!!
Best pianist, absolutely amazing! ❤❤❤
Everytime there is a concert in France, the vulgar French audience coughs during all the concert. Extremely annoying.
Wow...che eleganza...che Musica. .. che meraviglia !! ❤❤❤❤❤
Philly performance just as good!

This appears to have been phone recorded.

💖🌸
Terrible audio quality, spoiled a magnificent performance.
Poor recording. Could hardly hear the piano. Most unfortunate.
I hate to say this but the Polish youth orchestra does a much better job of videography.
I agree.
You are Top 🔝 !Congratulacion❤
