Cant believe this song is made way back 30 years ago in 1984. Totally overshadowed the current 2013 (and the previous 10 years) ndp songs. Here is one aspect that we keep failing to improve for the past 10 years, our ndp songs. Strangely enough, this song seems like it came from the future where things are expected to be better.

Go back in 1987 when i was in primary school. That time i was 7 years old. My kampung Tebing Runtoh, Gelang Patah opposite to Lim Chu Kang singapore army camp. Tune into SBC channel 5, this song always been played. So i sing long, even i don’t know how to pronounce it 🤣. Time goes by now i’m 41 years old. My kampung Tebing Runtoh is still stand up like singapore does.

I love my country but it is totally screwed up now , how I wish I could turn back time to the 80s onward.
Actually this is not the original version of Stand Up for Singapore.
The 1980 version chorus was "....25 Years we Build this nation..." and not "...Singapore our Home and Nation..."
The latter version was changed after 1980 after the 25th year of independence.

You are right about the change, but the year was wrong. "In 25 years" refers to 25 years of self government from 1959 to 1984. Lyrics was in use in 1984, was changed in 1985 or 1986.
And not u can't shut and no want care this is the real song or not so yeh
Better the original version. The latter yes dynamic but to rekindle the memories of the past for the future the original 1984 version is worth listening.
But better if the old version includes the present verses. Sort of looking back at the past and facing the future afterwards.
