Hope you guys enjoyed this recap of the past 4 years! Let us know if you'd like to see more Breath of the Wild content like this or something else in the future!
I actually was playing BOTW today and tried a couple times to do the fall damage cancel. Unfortunately, I was never able to fully cancel all the damage within the three times I tried. I was able to get to the point of taking only 1 1/2 points of damage, but never perfect. Btw. I was testing it off the tower in the region with the Lost Woods, the one with the skull on it.
Love the thought of all the glitches being canon, like imagine being ganon waiting for Link to wake up only for him to launch towards you at mach speed and kill you in one shot
Very important to note that despite these glitches this game is still one of the most solid experiences I have ever had with a videogame and I still play it very often
@@dogeo1719 I haven't even tried it, so I don't have any tips for you or anything, but I bet you can get it if you keep trying! You have to decide whether you want it enough for that.
Except a few, I feel most of these aren't glitches. The game is so rooted on its physics laws that most of them make perfect sense. Patching those so called glitches would go against its own rules.
I saw somewhere online that Nintendo knew about many of these glitches before launch but had a policy that if the glitch was fun and not too game breaking that they would leave it in (like the flying machine for example)
I'd say the stasis launch, perfect Daruk parry, and the shield-bomb combat thingy are the only not real glitches. The rest of them seemed pretty glitchy. I suppose one could say that most of the other's were just physics abuse, glitches don't necessarily need to involve memory overflows to be considered glitches. As long as it is completely out of the realm of what the developers intended in any way.
@@korfelthewizard8697 That's certainly one of the most difficult ones. If you were dedicated enough to learn that, you can probably learn most of the speedrunning and combat glitches eventually.
Honestly it almost seems they left these exploits. For instance, the shrine for apparatus storage is right next to the statue for the hearts and stamina. The combat glitches seem more like advanced combat tech. There's numerous cancels and once you master the inputs you can perform in battle like it's one button. It becomes no different from smash bros. Every Rune interacts with the game perfectly for you to exploit like getting to the final room in Trial of the Sword skip, Windbombs, Apparatus Storage(NG+, Hearts and Stamina, Mastercycle Zero skip). I came in when windbombs were discovered and I've said from day 1 they put some of the glitches in the game.
Great video! Tho a lot of ppl in the replies misunderstood that this is supposed to be a speedrunning history showcase, not a complaint on how glitchy the game is. But it's really good at that it's meant to be, really nicely edited, and super entertaining :D
My favorite BOTW glitch will always be the one where you can make Guardians clip through the ground with stasis, because it’s the first useful glitch I figured out by myself. (The non-useful one was stumbling upon NPCs stuck upside down in the ground)
i love this so much! botw’s glitches are so interesting and mysterious and its amazing how people try and find ways to keep breaking the game just because of the freedom it allows you. i agree with memory storage. i’m not the best player, and the two days of preparing to beat dark beast ganon was the most stressful i had been playing a game. nevertheless, i have never felt so relieved when i got the bow of light, and in awe of the fact the game was even able to handle it all LOL. great job rin!
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: normal Stasis launching is NOT a glitch. It's an example of the game mechanics working as intended, despite the fact that players exploit it to move across the map faster. Edit: OK, he addressed that. I still don't think it belongs on the list, but mentioning it in the video as the first-ever launching technique is reasonable due to how much influence it's had in general.
@@Eddie2P No that's not what either of us meant. The arrow shows you where the object will fly, but this type of Stasis launching is using the object to launch _yourself,_ that is to say, Link. What was "intended" to be done with the rune is impossible to say, and this could have been "intended" or not, but either way it's not what I would define as a "glitch" in the game's code, it's just a natural result of the mechanics as coded. As another example, Magnesis minecart flying machines were almost certainly unintended, but I wouldn't call that a glitch either. It's just taking advantage of the way Magnesis works (where you can only use it on something you're not directly standing on). Compare to something like a bullet time bounce, where you're specifically making the game drastically miscalculate your velocity; that's not a direct result of the bullet time mechanic, it's the result of a glitch in said mechanic.
@@RinHara5aki Do you have a link (no pun intended) for that glitch? It’s baffling how they put it in the preview of this video but not actually showcased at all...

that was patched sadly
Here’s one glitch: I saved by the snowball shrine with no monsters nearby, kept reloading for the shrine and a Lizalfos appeared.
Not a glitch, ice lizalfos can spawn anywhere in cold regions. (Just like keeses or animals). In your case a lizalfos wanted to spawn here.
Same for electric lizalfos in the desert.
Great video, love seeing all the crazy BotW glitches. I helped discover the reason why Infinite Guardian Parts glitch was discovered at 7:39 . I was the one who asked the user on twitter "how did you discover this glitch?"
My lame claim to fame lol 😛
"That everyone compares everything to"? Excuse me?? You mean every game since 2017 copies from.
I used to think like that just think of the game that everyone takes inspiration from
@@AyeshaKhan-pq9ri yeah, inspiration and then take half of the games feature and add more cute anime character skill on it
