These women have actually collaborated together. Taylor collaborated with Rihanna (along w/ex bf Calvin Harris) on the song "This is what you came for" as Taylor wrote all the lyrics and the melody, but was credited using the pseudonym "Nils Sjoberg" as she didn't want to influence the songs performance by using her real name. She sang on the original demo, and I think sang some background vocals on the Rihanna version. I don't know if Rihanna knew it was really Taylor, or if she found out months later with the rest of us.

I find it ironic that Rihanna's most viewed video is the song "this is what you came for" and that Taylor Swift wrote all the lyrics and melody for, with her ex Calvin Harris who co wrote the music, recorded & produced it. It is also ironic because both Calvin Harris & Rihanna both individually stated that they would never consider collaborating with Taylor. Calvin Harris stated he would never consider working with Taylor in the future, knowing full well that he already had. Rihanna's comments (made years earlier), basically said that it wouldn't make sense for her and Taylor to callab or perform together as their brands are so different & she knows what her fans would and wouldn't like, implying that people aren't diverse enough to be able to be a fan of both her and Taylor. Which made me laugh at the time because it is untrue, as both Rihanna & Taylor are two of my Favorite female artists, and I am not alone in loving them both.Most music lovers have diverse tastes, and listen to more than just one style, or genre, of music. I found it hilarious that Taylor somehow got Rihanna to unknowingly collaborate with her on "This is what you came for" by using a pseudonym and that it turned out to be Rihanna's most played song. It reminds me of her song on "Midnights" album "Mastermind" where she sings, "What if I told you none of this was accidental", and she plotted the whole thing, she "laid the ground work & then just like clockwork, the dominos cascaded in line, what if it was all by design because she's a 'Mastermind'." I truly believe that Taylor wanted to teach Riri a lesson for insinuating that her fans wouldn't ever like any collaboration with Taylor Swift.
I don’t think you know the colloquial definition of a collab in music. A collab, generally speaking is when two artists both have verses on a song and sing (or make the dj music for) the song together. For example, Rihanna and Drake, collaborated for “What’s My Name”
