Samsung ONE UI 6.1 update has been issued to Galaxy S23 Ultra, Fold 5, Flip 5 and other S23 series smartphones but has demolished the Always On Display functions.
In this video, we have the fix.

The problem can be fixed inside gallery...in gallery if we select a photo and make it to set as wallpapper and give make as AOD we can make that perticular photo as AOD clock style from gallery if AOD is ON

@A42yearoldARAB now one need to have a 6 digit pin to unlock phone without tapping ok after entering password
my pin is just 4 numbbers so I need to tap ok after entering password
tapping on notification icon text opens more options but now it takes to app except for wifi bluetooth and torch
@A42yearoldARAB also the orientation and brightness in always on display along with having our own stickers as always on display
and if you ever used live messages app of s pen and also know a little bit of caligraphy then you know the pain due to loss of that app 😕

Nah, this is not a solution! The fiix should not go through GoodLock/Lockstar, this should be STOCK settings! For instance, I can't download Goodlock, due to geographic location restrictions, we all should have this option as stock setting, to adjust AOD brightness. Samsung really dropped the ball on this, the AOD is really dim, the other frustrating thing is, that all notification icons are not color coded.
Same I can't download deu to geographic bla bla so fking lame man.
My AOD is basically useless now. Sometimes it's so dim it's not even worth using. WTF were they thinking?
OM F G , came here because of brightness of aod when my s23 ultra is in a dark place after oneui6.1 update but indeed the freaking icons are not colored, like the green whatsapp icon. Samsung you are absolute morrons.
It is possible to get access to Goodlock even if it is not available in your country. You have to remove your sim card, turn on a vpn to a country that has goodlock available (America, korea etc) and then clear data of the the galaxy store (long press galaxy store app-> app info -> storage -> clear data). Once you do all of these and reopen the galaxy store app, you can find and set up goodlock. Hope this helps.

I've wondering why I couldn't adjust the AOD brightness. Double tap for brightness adjustment went away🤔.

Hello. Why should users solve this problem themselves by using additional applications? In One UI 6.1, AOD functionality has been significantly reduced, making it virtually useless. I don't understand what Samsung is up to, but they need to sort this situation out ASAP.
Yeah you would think that the update would be better than the previous version 🙄 I regret updating it now.

I used to use Samsung as the excuse to defend against iPhone. Now, I'm starting to see it as a reason to go. The fact that you get no choice about installing these updates, they don't TELL you everything they are changing, and they are fundamentally changing what your $1200 device does after you bought it, should be lawsuit worthy.
Samsung needs to chill... not even Apple does this! Stick to what works and stop fixing what was not broken!
I'm really upset that I can't adjust the a.o.d brightness now. At night it goes so dark i can't even read it on my phone. Wish they would fix that

You can only choose the style of the clock on the always on display. Using the Good lock or lockstar apps is useless. The "update" took away choice. Samsung took it upon itself to change the color of the digits. It didn't ask, it just did it and removed the ability to edit or change colors. This is an update? This is "more powerful features"? The update also requires you to give lockstar access to your contact list. This 6.1 UI is invasive, not an update, changes your settings whether you like it or not, and then removes your ability to change it back. More invasion of privacy, less choice, styles you didn't ask for and can't change. That's your update.
Why must every upgrade also have a downgrade? Give us back our old AOD, Samsung!
the fix is a backward step for me - I had the clockface just right - now AOD has some horrible font I can't change - sigh
I didn't see a brightness adjustment option using this "fix"
There's also a slight change with the Edge Panels...if I am not going senile you used to swipe from the right (or left) and swipe again to get the next one. Now you swipe once and they're all there....lemme explain...you have to swipe them back in to see the next one and the next etc. I hope you got the idea.
Sad to see samsung removed these aod features these features were available when one ui 2 or 3 was released i hope samsung bring it back

OneUI 6.1 is trash 🗑 😒 I don't know why I have to get all these applications from samsung app. It's apps alot of people don't want now they are suggesting them to fix a big screw up.
Please talk about the issue regarding charging speed for s23 one ui 6.1. Because it has been reduced significantly after the update. The phone is getting charged very slowly.

I have just received the update. Finally I have the option to turn off the auto brightness. But I don't understand why it has to be in the Good Lock application!
Also why doesnt the s23 series have the auto feature the s24 has where AOD turns off when its like in pocket or faced down

One UI 6.1 killed the edge clock for AOD! I've used it since the S7 edge and worked flawlessly on my nightstand to see the time at night. Thanks a lot #Samsung bring back the edge clock!!
I realised another issue with 1UI 6.1. When the videos are in preview mode and u want to move it forward, it keeps repeating unless you open it with a video player.
Can you change the brightness with lockstar or no?

I got the fix but I turned off Lockstar in Good Lock. The clock on the lockscreen was insisting on going dead centre lol. I always download AOD's (image and clock)from the Themes store so that's working fine for me.....they also updated NavStar AND I got rid of the bar YAY!!!!! NOW we just need to change the brightness for AOD because mine is really dim....STILL. AND I keep saying many don't have Good Lock...I have it because I have a workaround. I have this feeling this problem would disappear if they gave us the S24 AOD....seems it's tied to the lockscreen in some way.

Same here. My AOD is updated, I have Goodlock, but now Goodlock doesn't have the clock option for the AOD screen, and Lockscreen doesn't have the brightness open. 😭

Wondering if you can clarify lock screen clock not shifting and does this cause burn in.
They fixed this but lockscreen widgets still show up on the AOD in the same spot as a widget added from Lockstar.

i have changed my icon pack and when the phone goes in aod it doesnt invert colors like it does in the lockscreen. So my icons are black but their color should become white in aod for me to be able to actually see them. It doesnt. do you have a solution to this?

There is a brightness slider for the aod coming soon to lockstar. Samsung confirmed but it will probably be for S23 Ultra only.
Is there anyway to make what's happening today in my calendar show up on the aod after 6.1 it has disappeared?
I miss so much the second point on the AOD clock.... Used to have it on my note 8, but now, on the S23 U, there are just the hour and minute pointer.... So sad.

The clock on my AOD stays in one position forever. (S24 ultra)
I believe the clock on my Note10+ used to change position on the whole screen randomly every 5 minutes or 10 minutes.

Another issue since the update... Lock screen doesn't stay locked! It flashes for a second when I hit the side button and then goes straight to my home screen! How do I fix this??

How do I get my swipe navigation to work?! All it will do is HOME with center swipe. No left or right sides to go back etc. How do I fix this? I set it to swipe Navigation in settings after update but nothing! So mad!

I still use the old home button where it has the 3 lines on the left, square in the middle and < on the right. They changed how you use the Google assistant from pressing and holding the square to now you have to swipe from the side. I'm pissed! Give me the option to put it back to a press and hold!!!!
Why is the AOD landscape mode gone?
I want to have the old version of the Always on Display. Especially that you can adjust the brightness again manually.
I just had this happen and it took me to the fix but nothing changed for my clock style so I cleared the AOD cache and my clock centered like before on lock screen but even after a restart my AOD is gone.
ETA: Well, I figured out the problem by going into AOD on phone and it was set to tap to show for some reason. So it's centered but a weird pink color I guess I can change on lock screen.
when my aod is on i have a small box with a pin beneath the clock. how do i remove that?

If you download an aod from the galaxy atore yall be able to add it to the aod from there but you cant manage it in the aod settings thats the work around i found

It is sad. this method is not working on S24 series and it gets worst the clock is not changing position. I dont use AOD because i am afraid of Screen burn in.

After the Update Lockstar closes when i tap on AoD. AoD is black, only Lockscreen can be managed. Its getting worse and worse with One UI 6.1.

They killed edge lighting with this update too. Now it's jaut always dim on my ultra and I don't know how to fix it.

not fixed... clock movement still missing, the AOD clock stay still at the top, and won't move. this will cause screen burn-in. not sure you guys face the same issue?

I changed mine from press and holding the lock screen, change the clock. But I don't have a clock on my lock screen, just the AOD. That fixed it for me.
