Not here to shittalk anyone or anything but why tho. Expressing yourself is a big part of art so why take it out? While I do agree with the fact that the solo isnt the most clear or anything it sets a great mood and picture for the song and it expresses a lot of emotion through it. True it doesnt sound the most conventional but its still a good solo I started enjoying more and more throught listening to it multiple times.
In my opinion, music should strive to be sonorically pleasant to the listener. Musical expression should have some kind of limit, by the means of producing pleasing or beautiful sounds, and dissonances are to be solved. While the piano solo does convey a powerful underlying message, it sounds like crap in the last 2 minutes. i think there's better ways to express anger, sadness, grief, sorrow, or the difficulties of life than just bashing keys on a keyboard. One perfect example is the guitar solo in the song The Best of Times, by Dream Theater. The song deals with the drummer's grief after the loss of his father, and the guitar solo is a perfect example of a musical passage which expresses grief, loss, sadness, and melancholy, but is also beautiful, and extremely pleasant. The piano solo in this song, however, is like making the perfect cake (because I LOVE the rest of the song) and then dousing the cake mix with liters of ketchup and mustard. It ruins the flow of the song, in my honest opinion. I love X Japan, and I adore this song. But that's the reason why I dislike the piano solo.

I also give them props for being brave enough to send something that experimental out so there's that too.
