WICKED star Jennifer DiNoia transforms into Elphaba and shares why getting green feels like a spa, her experience being part of the show's family for a decade and how it's different being a new mom.
Is it me or does every actress look stunning in the green makeup? Like, who knew green would look so good as a skin color?!
Jenna Salisbury that’s so truuueeee!
I saw her as Elphaba and literally- I died. she was so amazing, I loved her so much!!!!!
elennon8 ME TOO ISN'T SHE THE BEST
elennon8 literally died? You mean figuratively, you're still alive.
I didn't know afterlife had Internet connection
Same!! She's fantastic!
When she said ‘as a dancer in chicago’ I thought she said she was in the show Chicago 😂
Same!
I love seeing the traces of green left on the costume pieces and wig, it shows how much that costume has graced the staged and how well the green-ifying process is done
She’s my aunt Jenny and she is such an amazing person. she loves her family and is literally one of the sweetest, most talented women i know! i saw her on stage and i loved every second of it
Wait for real
Just saw her as Elphaba at The Gershwin two days ago, she was fabulous!
I saw wicked probably 10 times already each time with a different Elphaba, though last week I was finally able to see it on broadway and wow. She really was stunning. I'm honestly so glad I got to see her and Kara perform.
I honestly love how theres now 3 Elphaba character studies! Makes it so interesting ☺️☺️
I just saw her on Saturday night in NYC...she's the Elphaba stand by in the current cast. She was amazing!
Did anyone else watch fly girl and remember craig?
Yesss Craig!!!
I think he has done every Elphaba's make up since the beginning of the show on Broadway.
Justin M not really all.
+J Burney Oh my gosh YES!
J Burney he said in other videos that He has put makeup to a lot of Elphabas including Idina and Soshana.
Oh my heart! I just had a hard time of it yesterday (my schools doing little mermaid and I'm the ginger who didn't get the callback.) this is so cool in a painful way because I want to be elphaba sooooooooo badly but I'm not a great belter. So, I just wanted to say hey to any girls or guys who are feeling this right now. Theatre kids unite!!!!!!!!
Theater Kids rule!! Sorry to hear you didn't get a callback. I have an audition for my school musical "Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" on Tuesday & I'm a little nervous. Just wanted to say don't give up & be yourself 😉😍🌹💪🎭
Thank you both!!!!
Good luck in your audition! Joseph was the first cast album I completely memorized! I do intend to keep trying because this is what I was meant to do! Casting list goes up on Monday, so there's a chance I may get a smaller role! Thanks again💚
Oh my gosh I feel you girl! The same thing happened to me last month I auditioned for a community production of shrek and was the only girl my age who didn't get a callback for Fiona, but the directors had another amazing part in mind for me, and I hope it will be the same for you (also, if it makes you feel better, my friend auditioned for the little mermaid in a community play and didn't get a callback but got cast as her understudy) anyways, good luck with your show and never give up on your dreams :)
Bailey Bieganek Thank you, just auditioned today & it went pretty well. Awaiting for Casting list as well. Joseph... does look pretty cool, I watched the movie & loved! Very excited & happy wishes to you! 😊😉🎭💚💙
Thank you all. I really hope current or future endeavors pay off! I'm one of ariel's sisters. I'm happy about it and I shouldn't complain. But I do feel sad sometimes. But I can't help it. All I can help and promise you all is that it would take a lot more to make me give up on this insane dream of mine!
It's so great to see her finally playing Elphaba on Broadway, loved her performances in LA
Literally one of the best actors on this planet. just saw you a month ago and am obsessed with you
Ahh I had the pleasure of seeing Jennifer a couple times when she was an understudy in Chicago and then moved to the role permanently! So great to see her succeeding on Broadway :D
I just saw her as elphaba and she was so amazing!!!
i saw her on broadway as elphaba back in october and holy shit i'm still in awe
She is so incredible- saw her in her last London show last year
I love that she says "Call out when you need to". People really don't understand how hard this life is in so many ways....
Saw her at the Gershwin on March 18. She's AWESOME! :-)
Saw her on stage yesterday, she was WONDERFUL!!!!
I saw her when she was on tour, she was absolutely spectacular and I fell in love with her on stage. She grasped the character of Elphaba and it was the first time I saw Wicked, she made it so much better because of her performance. Huge fan!
I SAW HER TONIGHT AND SHE WAS AMAZING
I love Jenny so much😍💚
my absolute favv elphaba
She was my first Elphaba after Christmas the other year in the west end
I love Elphapa too. The only version where the Wicked Witch is actually the good guy because it is another universe
Saw her on Broadway and she was amazing.
this is so stunning
I just saw Wicked last night and she was absolutely AMAZING! My first Broadway show was a success!
I saw her today, and she was amazing
I saw her this past Friday. She is the current standby for Talia. She was so so good and lovable. Her and Brittney had great chemistry.
my sister molly loves your work on musical wicked in the gurswin !
She was my first Elphaba! And I apologize a lot too!
Lol she went to my school today she seem like the nice person I love her
Did you play Elphaba in October in NYC? If so, you were impeccable. The way you performed together with your partner Geeeelinda with a Geee, was so amazing. I was actually disappointed when I bought the CD because it wasn't the two of you :p
You have a great voice I saw your show tonight
Best Elphaba
She’s the only actress I’ve seen that actually seems like Elphie🖤
Omg this is amazing
I ACTUALLY SAW HER ON THE WEST END TOUR
She did in the actual west end, not the Uk tour
I know
Yay wicked💚💚
Awesome
She looks even prettier in green face
coooool
💚💚💚
It’s crazy to me that they still paint her hands, which as a makeup artist, I know is inevitably messy. Why not just use gloves and dye them the appropriate green?
Gloves come with their own problems, namely that if they’re sturdy enough to withstand several shows, they won’t look completely natural. (Pantyhose is generally the material used to create a “like-skin” texture that’s thin enough to mimic the incomplete opacity of makeup; however, it’s rather flimsy and prone to ripping). Also, dyes aren’t consistent in how they perform, so that might create a problem as well.
I'm so sorry but what's a stand by
Is it me or does her face kind of look like Marion Cotillard? Especially when she smiles.
A green woman
화장실 급하면, 물마시거나 간식먹으면 어떡하냐.... 분장 새로해야하네....
camailion, you have disgraced me; again what has anastasia, of amnastasia, got to do with you? shey? na you curse me say, i no go see, camailions, for my life; i saw a live; at view one, and never told my sister, later, on later
So elphaba is a character that's facing racism, yet, no colored people have ever played that character. Don't get me wrong, I love all the actresses who has portrayed her, but it's kind of a bit of hypocritical.
Saycon Sengbloh played elphaba so there have been one before.
first, ask first if there is any colored people auditioned for the role. second, some director has preference, shall i ask why good singers always get the role?
because they are good, right? how about not so good singer? are we going to ruin the dream of singer who is not as good as the best to do musical in broadway just because they are not (that) good? No, but director still has preference which was influenced by different factors, factors that they only know.
okay, maybe what i am trying to say is don't start a "colored people lives matter" issue in here.
Oh okey; guess I didn't really do my homework haha
+Maja Ritzman haha... your reply was kind of sweet... sorry that i had to say alot... i really dont like "_______ lives matter" propaganda so i tried to stop the flame... sorry... 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
But it does matter. I'm 110% sure not only great white singers and actresses auditioned. It all has do to with subliminal racism. Most people just feel more safe and comfortable with white people. And that's not something that I can blame the casters or directors for, because that's the norm. But it doesn't make it right. Representation is important.
But like I said, it's nothing against the former or present elphabas, they've all been absolutely fantastic, but it's something that I felt the need to put out there.
Skin care routine needs to be dropped asap
Very cool!
She did how I want to do it.. Dancer first and work my way up. 💚💚💚💚
Syd Butler same here I want to do dance and then when I graduate I will train for wicked to be Elfaba 💚💚
2:23 she's not that girl?
If she's the Elphaba then when was Rachel was the Elphaba in Broadway?
I met her, personally
Love this. Love Jenny. :)
Hi Breedlove (Craig Jessup)👋👋
I love this lady and she is amazing, don't get me wrong, but If her husband has a job, she needs to get home and take care of that baby! I feel for her though, balancing being a mom and a lead in a Broadway production is VERY tough. If her husband is a stay at home dad, then that's way better. I'm just really sad bc I heard a story about this toddler @ a day-care and she barley saw her mom so she called one caretaker "mommy". It breaks my heart :( Hopefully she gets to spend more time with her little baby! Wishing the cast best of luck, I'm seeing it later this week and I'm so excited!!! Love u Jennifer!!!💚
(p.s. great way working up the pyramid! Dancer-->Elphaba! wow!)
