Good review, also consistent with others about the heel. I typically don’t like shoes with such a high drop but this one is ok. In my case I’ve only used them for walks. However, it’s very bulky but not too heavy. I bought it because it is a beautifully designed and comfortable (spongy) shoe.
Great comparison, enjoyed your trail test of the Nike Zegama. I believe you mentioned you enjoy the Hoka Speed Goat a little better, is this correct…for say the distance of 50k and beyond. Thanks in advance, I also have a slightly wider foot and enjoy a bit more cushion underfoot for longer distance.
It’s a difficult choice. Especially for 50k and beyond. The Hoka def has a better outsole ( vibram ) and I felt like the cushioning and energy return were also better. But not by much. The Nike is a bit more comfy for a wider foot. I might get the Speedgoat Wide version and see how that one does! Will you be running in the alps with them?
@@chris.schmied Thanks for the feedback, I’ll be running in Cappadocia, Turkey a part of the Salomon Trail series 63km. Currently training and trying to find that special shoe that meets the requirements of comfort and grip etc… the trail is hard pack dirt and rocky with some cobble stone streets throughout. Really enjoying the Sacouny Xodos Ultra currently nice shoe, but still searching. Happy Holidays and best of luck in your training….Looking forward to more content 🤙🏽
I’ve been following running shoes with zoomx midsole but since I’m running in a constantly raining region this one’s pretty much not viable to me. Too bad. Great video btw.
Thanks for your comment :) Yeah if you plan on tackling the trails on rainy days I wouldn’t use this shoe as my first choice. But ZoomX midsole is really good. I use the Nike invincibles on my road runs.
I currently use the ASICS Trabuco Max 2. They are really good but just a little narrow for my fit. I wouldn’t use them for an Ultra. I really loved the Zegamas since they are a bit wider. I will definitely buy the second version with the Vibram outsole. A lot of people find them unstable on technical trails, but I haven’t had any issues there. They might become one of the best trail shoes. ( for me )
how about wearing this one for 50k-70k ? can i have an advise, im using Altra Olympus 5 for more than 600km including 3 70k race and now looking for something new
I think they would do pretty good. I’m not sure if it would be my first choice though. Never ran a race like that, so I couldn’t really tell. Would something like the Salomon speedcross be better maybe…?
@chris.schmied personally probably yes I'd think so, just also in my mind at least looking to use the shoe more than just those events through the year and use em for trail runs as well. Feel like I'd only use the other option just for racing
Hello brother ,I'm from India. I want some suggestions from you in related to best shoe for me ? 1 - I want good stability in shoe. 2- Good looking, like Nike zoom x zegama. 3- I want shoe for cardio exercise, other tranning in gym. 4- i want also energy returning type shoe. *Please please 🙏 suggest me best shoe according to my above mentioned, purpose. Please reply as soon as possible 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏.
The Nike Zegama shoes might be right for you. If you won’t be running any technical trails you might want to get the Asics Novablast. They are very good running shoes and good looking ;)
Thanks for the video. I got me a pear now, really enjoying them
They are really good! Glad you like them. Can’t wait for the second version to come out. Will make a review again :))

It is very comfortable !! Love it. Just wish the grip was a bit better.
@@chris.schmied Do you mean the “heal” grip? (agreed)
It s a 4 mm drop :))
@@SergiuSalcau00 Thanks for the correction.
Truly honest review. Great help. Thanks
Glad it helped! Thanks for watching :)
Thanks for the video! I'm just getting into trail running and snagged a pair of these on sale. Looking forward to them as my first real trail runners.
Wow, that's great! Have you planned any races already? Have fun and enjoy your time on the trails!

wats ur main trail shoe atm? how do u rate these since compared to others u tried since this review?

Good review. 👌
Thanks a lot! Hope an updated version comes with a better outsole. I would def. buy it.
Thanks for the review! What do you think for the next race: hoka speedgoat 5 or zoomx zegama? 🧐
Outsole on speedgoat far superior
Zegama are for me way more comfortable then Speedgoat. But the grip of the Speedgoat ist unbeatable. Definetly try them both before buying.

Very good shoe as long as the trails are dry. Even for the ultra distance. Better than version 2.
Recommend these for events like spartan race and tough mudder?

For flat footed person, do you also recommend to go true to size?
Are your feet wider or bigger? I think they def. run a bit wider and bigger.
@@chris.schmied They are wider
Thanks bro
Any time!
Isa Peter : speedgoad 5 je jasná volba. Vladimír Czechia.
Thanks! How come you’re so sure? 🤔
are the insoles on these shoes glued bro?
They are glued.
@@chris.schmied Have u tried invincible run 1,2 aswell bro?which one do u think gives more energy return?

If you are getting blisters in 24k they are not a good fit for you...
Too much mouth noise in your video
