At least this is a bit safer than many resident lifts in India now. There are governor ropes as I saw in the video. Many home (resident) lifts now in India don’t have governors, I think you can prove it by watching some local elevator company’s video about their lift :-)

They actually don't. They have like 4 to 5 apartment units per floor in this building. It's basically some people deciding to keep their doors open throughout the day.

Kinda sad lot of older gated lifts there didn't use governors. Maybe they should just equip them with Governors. I know OTIS did it.

No, if it flashes means C, then it means to close the door when it's like fully opened. It shows L only when it's almost shut or locking

Let's just say ever since I started watching lift videos from 2015, I slowly got used to that term. That's why I use elevator in the title
