In the States, blue wasn't used as an emergency light color much before the mid to late sixties. The reason blue was adopted was because there are already all these red tail lights. Then, some police forces went with a blue light on one side of the car roof and a red on the opposite side. Love your channel Marty!
Wake up to snow falling here so I drag out my laptop and come to youtube and see a notification from Marty's Matchbox Makeovers and I click right away and immediately forget about the dreary day outside for a bit. Love the channel and love the videos. You do great work and also manage to throw in a few laughs in every video. Keep up the great work and tell your wife to work on her aim, that throw at the beginning wasn't quite up to snuff.
OMG!!! I had that Galaxy fire police car! I WISH I still had all mine. All from 1965 thru 1969. I know the dates from the houses we lived in and the miles and miles of dirt roads I built in the back yard! Two cereal boxes filled with vintage Matchboxes. OH! I wish I still had 'em all!
Marty, another delightful video! I had a childhood fascination with Matchbox cars and your videos make me feel rather nostalgic ... even though I don't think you've covered any of the models I ever owned. That's a neat trick! The unboxing was fun to watch! Thank you for all your terrific videos.
I had the Case tractor. It has a yellow cab that goes with it. It has been 40 some years since I last played with my matchboxes but I still have them stored away in my father's attic. I hope to someday get them out and maybe restore a few. l have almost all the ones I've seen you restore on video. Keep up the great work.
really enjoyed watching you see what you got and what maybe on the cards for future restorations I look forward to getting a notification of new content
Great video Marty. I for one was keen to see what you were unpacking - some great surprises there! Can't wait to see what you get in your 100 pack and how some of these models end up.
Brilliant video full of vehicles I remember. You mentioned that you once lived in Norfolk. England. I live in Norwich, Norfolk. Bury St Edmunds is 40 miles away from me.
My good man, your videos are superb and great entertainment and well as informative. But it's a joy to watch a master of his craft do his thing. Like watching Bob Ross paint.
Hi Marty! I discovered your channel recently and just wanted to say how much I enjoy your videos! It's so much fun to watch the restoration process and you have a perfect gentle narrator's voice! (The little bits of humor are a bonus!) Your posts have been a perfect way to de-stress after a long day at work, very much akin to the old Bob Ross PBS series. Anyway I look forward to all future restoration and unboxing videos! Keep up the good work!!!
I hadn't realised you'd not seen the Victor before! Our neighbour had one (a real one!) in the 1960's. I don't remember the interior, but the outside was off-white with horrible yellowy green roof, similar to the contents of a baby's nappy! :-O And the Fairlaine is an American car! Enjoy! :-)
Love your videos Marty :) The early fairlanes were huge full sized cars in the US but by the 60's they had downsized and were mid sized sedans whereas the Galaxie was a full sized sedan hence the size difference. Especially looking forward to the Victor a Zephyr restorations :)
Hello there Marty. The model of the Lamborghini Marzal is a mega rare version from the short lived 'Broom Stick' range consisting of the Lamborghini in yellow and the Porsche 910 in white, I had the 910 version given to me by my mother. The 'Broom Stick' consisted of the model, a plastic handle attached to some elastic and some foil arrow stickers that held the cord onto the front/bonnet (hood) of the car. It was meant to be a crude form of remote control, alas it failed. The strange 'Rod Roller' was Matchbox response to Hotwheel's custom models, quite a clever toy in it's day. Whilst the Vauxhall Victor is a lovely little model and rather unusual due to it's red interior and grey wheels. Good luck with the restorations of the cars and thanks for the tips concerning the use of split pins for 'A' pillars, an excellent tip!
Marty. Looking forward to all these Makeovers coming up!! Glad to see the channel explode. You deserve it! BTW the red one is a Fire Chiefs car. See Time Riders current video!
Way cool Marty! The icecream melted Marty! The Galaxy 500 is a Fire Chiefs' vehicle, I had one when I was a kid. Cops in America had red lights for years and the Fire Dept. guys had blue, go figure. Have a great day! PS; Sharpen your knife!
American Police/ Fire have Red Lights. also a few Other Countries as well also use Red lights. You got the same Motorcycle Trailer I used to have. Sold it with a bunch of other stuff stuff. Person bought the Trailer for $75 USD that is.
Hey Marty, I'm new here I just stumbled on your channel. And I'm happy I did, Great content, keep up the great work. Love that you take so much care for these long forgotten match box toy cars. If I was to rate your channel it would have to be 100 out of 100.
Love your channel. Love your work. I have a car, not Matchbox, that I would love to see you work your magic on. It's a Tomica 1957 Chevy Bel Aire hearse.
Absolutely fantastic collection for you. Actually looking forward to seeing the ‘Resurrection’ of the mangled one. That would be a Marty’s Magical Manipulation of Metal?
Hi Marty. The Case Bulldozer has a plastic yellow cab that fits over it. I suspect that is why they didn’t detail it with an operator or controls. It is one of the first pieces to go missing. Good Day Mate.
The Lamborghini Marzal was a prototype made by Lamborghini i believe in the late 60s or early 70s , the car was very strange and it had glass everywhere, they likened it to a fishbowl,i have a book somewhere with it and that was the first time i heard about it years ago, didn't even have to Google it ,lol, can't believe they made a model car of it being that it wasn't a production car but i guess they do that.
"Tongue out whilst concentrating" Ah Marty you probably have no idea who Dave Jones is. He's an Aussie electronics genius who says "tongue at the right angle", it's kinda one of his catchphrases. Maybe an Aussie thing? Excellent video, keep up the great work mate :)
so you have now got a zephyr and a zodiac( zodiac was the top of the range zephyr), though they are different marques zodiac mk1, zephyr mk2. the size difference between the fairlane and galaxie is accurate, the sizes were falcon, fairlane then galaxie.
Marty In the States a red light on top is the police and a blue light represents the fire department. If you look at the emblems on to car and land rover you will note they are the same.
You should get lots of fun fixing those old wrecks up after you come out of the Hospital Marty. I think your lovely wife was only just firing her first warning shot over your bow !!!😋
Another great video matey and refreshingly different for you. While I've been off with long term health issue I've catalogued my Matchbox collection of which I have a lot in need of resto which is the intention as a hobby. It turns out I have amassed 637 regular wheels and 86 superfast thin wheel 1970 catalogue, I think i'm gonna need about another 50 years so I hope they fix my heart properly HaHa. As I've said before you're a great inspiration and very entertaining, but you really should wear head protection for future unboxing vids as it would appear you have low flying objects in your hobby room. All the best mate.
Hello martial Matchbox I am from West Yorkshire in Hebden Bridge I have seen your body doing up coaches or customise them I like to see more of them also when I was little I use skip wagon I have not seen one I have wonder have you seen one I will travel take care be safe I love your UA-cam channel carry on but don't work

Did it have stickers on the sides of the big wheels?
I don't think so but I'm not really sure
