I think Drake catches a lot of hate for something a lot of other artists do- they all try to find new waves and they all link up - we punished him for something we already knew from the start -that he wasn’t gangster. He grew up watching Birdman and Wayne’s behavior and how they worked so of course he learned to mimic them. However I do think at this point we all are looking at him like you’re 37 now, not a young boy anymore … this isn’t you anymore and if so then there’s something wrong with you.
Even when Drake was signed with Wayne, Wayne even told him to stay away from the gang and drug raps cause that isn’t him. His whole career he’d been getting weird looks from his contemporaries but the casual listener is much more than the core hip hop base
I see what you are trying to say, but you’re missing so much context my guy. Even understanding what HipHop is even about. It’s okay to do that with Pop sure. But when you claim hip hop it’s much different. I don’t even feel like going into it all. It’s not about “changing up your style” it’s about stealing, lying, using people.
@@joal1743that part drake has been trying to reinvent his image from the more emotional honest rapper he used to be when he had old heads hating but he was authentic now he has mob ties and is super thug😂 all while still never speaking on those issues and experiences Wayne did that talking bout bush Kendrick obviously did that even eminem did that but drake doesn't and wonders why he he's not celebrated as a true black artist when he out here dropping American slave bars as a Canadian Jewish man😂
Kendrick pretty clearly indicted the industry. We the people need to shift our support to people who at least try to uphold some damn values and integrity.
When people say Drake is the “industry” they don’t mean that they think the industry supports Drake and props him up to succeed over everyone else, no, they mean Drake conducts business and makes moves like the “industry” which is with out integrity, with out morals, and with out loyalty. Drake will find a new sound from another artist, put him self on someone else’s song and when that remix gets big Drake will hold it hostage until the artist signs their work away
