Kirstin's music, growth and presence is too often grossly underrated. Nice to see the love 💕. It really does take each member to make the PTX magic sauce. And they are individually so phenomenally talented. A gift to us.

Absolutely! I love her solo album, but when I heard the acoustic versions of this one, "Bad Weather", and "Up All Night", I loved them even more. It's her voice out there front and center, and like SaucyDad, I just love her voice.
The official answer was that, no, this wasn't about her and Jeremy. The timing, however, was rather convenient. She wrote the song about toxic relationships, ones that are continued because of convenience only, quite some time before she met Jeremy. It was released, though, around the same time as she found out he was cheating on her. Which, for doing so, I think he was a complete idiot, on a number of levels. Fun video, as always. This is a huge generalisation, but a lot of pop and techno songs are written by professional writers and the artist just performs them. I guess sometimes the artist gets to tell them what they’d like to sing about so it will feel more personal for them. I think the artist writing the lyrics themself helps to make it more personal and not too general. The PTX members put a lot of themselves in their original songs, which is why it’s so sad that they have gotten less attention thsn the covers (which are also great, but they are someone else’s stories).
You're remembering Jeremy Michael Lewis. It's possible this song was a result of their breakup. Their engagement was 5/29/26, Broke up sometime in '17, not sure of the date. This song came out 5/19/17 (I think 2 days after her birthday??). Not sure if there would have been enough time to get the song out by then or not. But Jeremy put out a Christmas song in '16 with the Acoustikats group from Kentucky he was part of when in school that had Kirstin in it, but not singing.

I think we can all agree that he must be a special kind of stupid. I’ve heard other PTX fans referring to Jeremy as a ”power dater” meaning he tends to date women more famous than himself to get publicity, which also makes him a bad person.
I do not understand why she, and Messer, put their voices behind the music instead of in front of it. I just want to remix this to increase the volume of her voice and decrease the volume of the music. Why hide a beautiful voice?
I've heard Mitch sing a couple of his songs with just a piano track, and Kirstie has done a full acoustic set of her EP and it's not like they can't dial back the studio music, they sing Acapella for a living 🤷🏿♀️. it's THEIR CHOICE to go all out in studio with their own creations because they love the end result. it's the Total opposite of PTX. Both Mitch and Kirstie are super critical of themselves and it took a lot of courage to release music on their own. I'm really proud of them and all the art they've created outside of Pentatonix 🙏🏾❤️✌🏾
With Mitch, we know he reslly likes electronic music so it’s not surprising he wanted to try making some. Maybe it’s the same with Kirstin, although because she released the EP on RCA, the producers would also have had a lot of say on the sound. I like the sound in this song actually.
Maybe because 1) good music is so much more than a voice, 2) they've been singing for all their lives, why not play with different genres? And what's the most important, 3) yes, they just want to do so. That's enough.
