Border collies are the sweetest dogs I know as someone who has had a border collie mix for 10 years they are smart intelligent very playful energetic in general they are cute and sweet ❤🐾🐼
I'm on my second Borderheeler. This guy, Seamus, is totally different in looks and personality than my previous one, Oz. It hurt a lot when I lost Oz, I didn't think I'd completely get over it, I haven't, but anyway. Oz took after the blue heeler build and coloration, Seamus took after the BC, but with spotted coat where a BC is usually white. Both of these guys were/are phenomenal, both actually figure things out, Seamus is more responsive to ball chasing, catching, retrieving. Both are very friendly, affectionate, intelligent, and loyal without question. I just love this breed, and to think Seamus was a rescue. Prior owners just didn't understand how to handle him. The shelter wouldn't let him go to a home that didn't have prior experience, I'm so lucky I did. When I adopted him, I told them he won't be coming back, 2 years later, he's my very best buddy, goes everywhere with me.
Border Heelers are my favorite dog. I've had a Texas Heeler and three Border Heelers in my lifetime. All three looked very similar (strongly Border Collie same as your Seamus). They are better for having around horses than the purebred parents. And a 50/50 cross gives you the strong genetics + hybrid vigor for better health (although you could still have some genetic issues as these breeds all descend from the same ancestors further back).
I rescued a 10 week old puppy And was told it was a Black lab and Australian shepherd. When i got the lab results back i found out it didn't have Black lab or Australian shepherd in it at all. It was 23% Border collie 21% Samoyed Blue Heller 17% German Shepherd 16% Golden retriever 13% Collie 10% Keeshond He is all black with a little white on his chest. Looks like a big Border collie with a German shepherd head with Border collie ears. Most loving dog I ever had.
We rescued a border collie - flatcoat retriever mix. Undoubtedly one of the sweetest, smartest, and fastest dogs I've been around. She really comes alive when water is involved.
hello, I have a short haired border collie & black lab mix. his name is Diesel. he has coat like a lab but traditional collie color: white feet, white tip on tail, mostly white face with black around his left eye, & finally white patch on his chest. we have 3 kids 11& 8 year old boys and 8 month old daughter and Diesel is awesome with the kids you can see him switch it up for the baby and be super gentle with her. he is a rescue we had him at 4 weeks we didn't know what we were getting into. we live in a upstairs 2 bedroom apartment. he has only went to the bathroom a handful of times as a puppy if we weren't right there when he woke up from napping then he would g go inside but we felt like that wasn't his fault but ours.. we taught him to ring a bell that hangs fro. our front door by grabbing his front paws and making him ring the bell before letting him outside and 4/5 times is all it took and he was getting the hang of it. eveytime he went inside it wasnt him it was our fault for not being there for him when he woke up. now he is little over 1 year old.. he has always listened well. never been on a leash but 2 times at 6months we took to the beach and he took off and when we caught him he snapped at a little girl so I leashed him for a few hours and 2nd time was just few weeks ago again he snuck off and didn't want to stay in his yard so again leashed him for a few hours. both times it was hard because he looked like we just beat the snot out of him. "he has never been hit by the way" not sure using the leash as a time out tool was the smartest now he relates being on leash to being in trouble luckily as an adult he walks besides us loyally no matter where we go so never have really used the leash. I try and take him to the river at least once a day for 1-3 hours. I let him out the truck and he runs while I drive around and he loves it. we were starting to have issues with him wanting to wonder off if you took eyes off him for 10 seconds he would sneak off but I knew the problem again wasn't him it was us not taking him out for exercise enough and now with the daily river trips to run he as stopped taking off.. what I like about the sand is it works him evan harder since sand is way harder to run in. he has never bit anyone or another dog or cat. most he does is barks while he runs up to a stranger then sniffs them and runs back to us. we made sure to take him around lots of people and animals since day one and it worked to make him a well behaved social dog. he just wants to play.the chase game with other dogs. he also loves to play ball that's his thing is ball 24/7. I also use a R/c monster truck that goes 60mph to exercise him he loves to chase it like he is herding sheep or something. overall wish we had 15-20 acres to roam on but I have no complaints. long as he has that exercise daily and I mean 1-3 hours daily 2 times a day when we can but with that he is an amazing dog. he loves to play with my 2 boys you would think he is one of them. he plays with them and sleeps with them. with diesel in the house I feel safer at night knowing someone tries coming in the house specially at night I know he will alert us asap. I can't evan sneak in. I have tried to fool him but he doesn't miss a thing. and he is so gentle with the baby. he keeps my boys from arguing they start getting loud he barks at them telling them to be quite and settle down its hilarious he like to play a game where he sits on the boys then runs off just to come back and do it again. he isn't just a dog or a companion he is one of my kids/family members 100%
I have a border collie/ labrador mix. She is the most affectionate, sweet, high energy dog. She is epileptic but that doesn't slow down this six year old girl.
I have a 9 year old Border collie Plothound mix. He's energetic and loyal just as a pure BC. I read somewhere that Border collie genes are quite strong, so their mixed pups show more of collie in them than the other breed.
I have a border collie/sharpei mix. He is amazingly adorable. Name is Teddy and just look like a teddy bear❤️He is like a ‘man’ stuck into him. So intelligent and empathic as well. He is a huge experience to our family.
I had a purebred keeshond and purebred border collie gave me 3 puppies. Two of them were long silky white haired puppies and the other looked exactly a wolf. Same color and features of the Keeshond but the hair was short. She was a beautiful and very intelligent dog but had the temper of a Chow Chow. She only listened to me and didn't have to tell her what I was concerned about because she could read my face.
I have a Border collie/Sheltie mix.. He's beautiful and sweet as could be... Loves people, but not other dogs..40 lbs.. tri-color.. Manageable energy level.. He's 10 now.. He developed diabetes over the summer and is losing his eyesight. It's heartbreaking for me, but he doesn't seem to mind.. Still plays with his favorite toys. He's the light of my life♥️
I have a Border Heeler. Border Collie Blue Heeler. She is very excitable, gets bored easily, gets along with people and other dogs. She can be somewhat stubborn.
We had a Collie x Staffordshire Bull Terrier who unfortunately had to be put to sleep, age 13 last week. Omg she's the very best of both breeds. 23kg powerhouse. A true cut and shut with a very muscular front end and slender back. Looked very staff like but had a collie rough. Filled with intelligence, tenacity and love. We have a border collie/kelpie and he is the nicest little thing, we also have a Maltese/border collie and she is also a very cute dog but isn’t as intelligent as others
@@joematty1353 He is so black his coat shines blue.Looks like setter in the face but can also see collie.Taller than border with longer hair like setter. Google Irish setter border collie mix and enjoy the pics. Smartest and fastest running dog I've ever known! Loves kids!
Just taken in a 12 week old Border Collie/Mioritic Shepard cross. I can find only find a tiny snippet of info on the internet. She’s hard work! Looks typically like a short haired Border Collie.
im SO GLAD you didn't leave out the health issues of breeding with the corgi. You're the first video I've watched that didn't gloss over that mix. Can we stop it w the breeding of stubby legged dogs? If you want a mini BC mix, get the border jack! It'll save you a ton on vet bills later down the line. like 5 lb dogs, stubby legged dogs are not healthy. cats can pull off the stubby legs bc they have a more flexible spine, but in dogs it causes back problems. They can suffer from severe and crippling back pain, and even paralysis. imagine if someone purposely bred you for unnatural looks that later down the line they knew would cause you serious health issues all for aesthetics. if you truly love a breed, you should try to breed the unhealthy traits out or mix in new healthier breeds.
I wish we would have known what our dog was before getting her because she's a corgi/border collie mix and for years every few months her back leg will start hurting her and we've never figured out why. But it might not be from genetics, because she has short legs but they're not as stumpy as a corgis legs.
Thanks for sharing this video. You could add a ninth one. Border Collie and Huskie mix. My sister has one and the dog's name is Makanani or heavenly eyes since Maka was born with blue eyes now light gray. She is a lemon and beige mix. Her brothers (5) are all border black and white with green eyes. Thanks again and will show you pictures later. Aloha, Karen M. Honolulu, Hawaii.
I had a border collie/ lab mix and love her to death, very smart and energetic when stimulated but also could chill when the time came. Just bought a pure bred border collie pup today, hoping to have a good experience with this one too.
Reading all these comments... I can only say "WE HAVE A BORDERMIX as well! 😍💓 "... And he is great! I can't say what is in, Border and Aussie for sure, but I think a German Sheppard as well.
I have a Border Collie/Husky. He is the most mellow laid back dog you could meet. Very affectionate and protective of children to the extreme. He has none of the Husky or Border Collie traits. He doesn't even fly and everybody knows both of these breeds can fly.
I have a 2.5 year old border collie/german shepherd mix. He is the smartest dog I’ve ever seen but as soon as he gets the zoomies he is basically uncontrollable 🤣
I have a border collie blue heeler (Australian cattle dog)...she has the best personality and gorgeous markings...very smart and energetic great in the car and even traveled across the USA with us....shes the best mix and my best friend ❤
Have a 2 year old mix, Garm. Named him for the sounds he made while learning to speak, but he's definitely not a hellhound. But I've always been curious what his mixture was. He's got the coat. With very minor brindling on his eyebrows and muzzle. And the wide jaw and square skull of a terrier. But his coat is long and soft and he has that thick neck and chest mane of most sheepdogs. Ears are completely floppy. Eyes are big and brown. Has all of that intelligence and attentiveness of a working dog, and I've spent a long time training. But he still let's his nose get the best of him at times. Strikes these tracking poses. He was a litteral off the street rescue so I have no idea his parentage. But I've always been curious.
We have just adopted a border collie mix but they didn’t tell us what he is mixed with. He is only 3 months and he is very tall with very big paws. We love him though, we just want to find out the best information on him.
We have a border collie mixed with fox terrier and she looks like a border collie but smaller and Tri colour she has a thick silky curly coat can jump a six foot fence runs like 50km per hour never gets tired out smarts me herds everything mostly ants and birds and is trained to hunt deer and pigs
i have a border jack. I think o-o. cause ive seen images of border jacks when their puppies but some images look like their 1 inch tall. My puppies are like 14 inches tall and their 4 months old. So im not so sure about my guess
We have a Border collie x karelion bear dog and he's the sweetest little thing! His breed must be rare cause I've never seen a video on one, or one in real life
I rescued a border collie mix I was told that he's mixed with Australian Shepherd we know for sure that Daddy is a border collie but I'm not seeing the shepherd and everywhere I look I can't find anything. he has a lot of characteristics of a Collie but he has short hair and I have not seen a short haired collie mix if anybody can tell me different I'd really appreciate it.
we rescued a Borgi from the streets, now she loves us to death. she is the best "Person" I've ever met. the most intelligent, peaceful, loving and protective dog I know..
A glaring omission is the McNab, which is an old cross between a Basque Shepherd and Border Collie. They are an excellent herding animal that blends the calm and smarts of a shepherd plus the energy and intelligence of the Border. Known in California for years as one of the kindest and loyal, not to mention incredible work ethic but also protective of family and herd. Ranchers know this cross as a highly valued addition. Plus they are used in search and rescue. Google McNabb images and you will find the best and brightest dog ever.
Anybody have a Sheltie Border mix? Love to read and see pics. I rescued a Sheltie or rather he rescued me but sure looks like a Border. Paperwork says Sheltie, but wondered. We love each other, no matter.
I have a border collie/corgi mix and she's extremely smart but the weirdest dog I've ever seen. She'll squirm on her back with her legs in the air and make weird grumbling noises. I've never seen another dog do that but I think she's just weird and there's no medical reason since I've never heard of any other dog doing that.
Some of these make little sense. The most common cross is a Border Heeler (Australian Cattle Dog/Heeler crossed with a Border Collie. The other most common cross is a Texas Heeler (Australian Shepherd crossed with a Border Collie). Both of these produce working dogs. I prefer Border Heeler crosses as less aggressive than Heelers and less passive than some Border Collies. All of these crosses produce very high energy dogs that have a strong herding instinct. They are NOT good for most family pets as they require a lot of attention and exercise.
Border collies are the sweetest dogs I know as someone who has had a border collie mix for 10 years they are smart intelligent very playful energetic in general they are cute and sweet

I have a border collie/ whippet cross. A lovely dog, but super- energetic, needing lots of exercise and mental stimulation.
Border and Rottweiler mix is the best dog👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
She's brown, black, silver. Small in stature and border Collie tail
i have a border jack. I think o-o. cause ive seen images of border jacks when their puppies but some images look like their 1 inch tall. My puppies are like 14 inches tall and their 4 months old. So im not so sure about my guess
We have a Border collie x karelion bear dog and he's the sweetest little thing! His breed must be rare cause I've never seen a video on one, or one in real life
I have a dozen border collie and he LOOKS LIKE A FREAKING STRETCHED OUT BEAGLE
I have a border Collie blue heeler and Aussie Shepherd

We have an Border Collie/Australian Heeler mix...... He is smart but is very afraid
I have a borgi and she does the flailing on her back thing but not the noises- they sure are cute though!!
My springador had a love affair with a collie male and now I have 4 dogs, imagine how my house looks like :P

"Active, intelligent & hard-working Dog" yeah that don’t describe my doggo Shadow at all. He’s the opposite of all that.
I have a collie whippet shes my world i could see me having any other dog
Same here, but I would point out that this kind of dog is very athletic and has lots of stamina, so they really need plenty of exercise.
Border collie Bernese
Some of these make little sense. The most common cross is a Border Heeler (Australian Cattle Dog/Heeler crossed with a Border Collie. The other most common cross is a Texas Heeler (Australian Shepherd crossed with a Border Collie). Both of these produce working dogs. I prefer Border Heeler crosses as less aggressive than Heelers and less passive than some Border Collies. All of these crosses produce very high energy dogs that have a strong herding instinct. They are NOT good for most family pets as they require a lot of attention and exercise.
