    I love my Bedrock Sandals! Cairn Evo PRO & Cairn Evo. I want to add a pair of Cairn Evo C to my sandal rotation! Bedrock Sandals rock so glad Bedrock makes my favorite footwear in the whole world.

      Can I ask what’s the difference between Cairn Evo vs the Pro? Do you have a preference on which you like better? I want to get a pair, but want to choose the right one. Thanks!

      @@MichelleNovalee They have a Model Comparison Guide on the company website, Design Vs what the best use. I found it very helpful, I am looking at the new Cairn Evo C has more outsole cusion to be more comfortable in casual for pounding the pavement; walking around town, going to a fair and events sandal. Cairn Evo PRO has worked best for river rafting, lake-dock-watercraft, kayak fishing, needing super wet grip adventures. The Cairn Evo is very thin and great for pounding the pavement; walking around town when you want to be close to barefoot but don't want to burn your sole travel.

      @@JettBlast so I ended up ordering the Carin Evo Pro as I really want them for water activities. As far as cushioning goes, I have a pair of Shamma Old Goats coming in the mail that have that thick cushioning support and is all leather so I can wear them around town on hard pavements for extra comfort. I currently have a pair of Circadian Earth Runners and they hurt walking on pavement.

      @@MichelleNovalee Have you looked at Chaco? or Luna? They make great ones also. Chaco can be resoled and restrapped plus you can order custom ones. Chacos are almost a culture all their own I have about 10 pairs. I rotate each makes them last even longer plus I have certain ones for certain uses. Lunas are air light very smooth and so soft they are like wearing nothing at all.

    Awesome eh? Two years in my Cairns now. Bought a pair of Classic a while back that love too, and last summer bought a pair of their newer "Geo" which has become my favorite - an awesome in-between of the two. I love'm all but I'd keep the Geos if I had to choose (but I don't have to choose). :)

    Great comparison vid - just found it, 4y later! I have a QQ: I have narrow feet and have been recommended Cairns because of this...however I see the heel posts are fixed and I'm told by Bedrocl 8cms apart. Do you find lateral movement with your heel in these while trail walking?

    Great video. I see that it's old now so I'm late. I'm planning an AT Thru-Hike and researching light weight camp sandals that will also be good for water crossing. I'd like to work my way into hiking some with them too just to switch it up from my Altras. Do you think the Classics would be the better option for this? Thanks!

    Thank you for the useful and informative videos. I am going to either buy the Shamma Mountain Goats or these Bedrock Cairns as my first barefoot sandals. I live in Spain and I will basically wear them all summer as my only piece of footwear and for day hiking at first and eventually use them for longer hikes in the future. Having experienced using them both do you have a preference between the two?

    You are right about Classics being cheaper. Not if you take that Cairn can be resoled later at a much cheaper price. I personally also looking at these two (the dry Cairn) for road running, I have the Pro 2 for trail running. I feel that 9mm vs 14mm is not much, you could get Xero shoes much thinner sole if you prefer that. What do you think?

    For trail running and road running, would you suggest Luna Mono or Cairn Pro? Heard that Luna Mono strap is not really comfortable. But I will be wearing toe socks with them. I live in Malaysia where the trail is wet and technical. I haven't started barefoot running, but I really like to get one sandals after my running shoes worn out because I am lazy to tie my shoe laces.

    Hello pieonthetrail. I just ran across your video and it was a good review. I was wondering if you can help me. I want to buy some Bedrock sandals. I saw the back straps open up but I'm wondering about the strap in the front how wide does it open. I have a very very wide foot 4 EEEE WITH fat wide toe. I wonder would my foot fit through the straps. I don't know if they make the sandal wide for wide feet. It looks like your feet are normal wide. I really do like the sandals. I do a lot of things barefoot 👣 but it's not easy finding sandals for my feet .Oh how is your bedrock holding up today. Thank you and you have a good day.

      @@pieonthetrail hello how you doing today. Thank you for replying I appreciate that. Yes I did contact Bedrock sandals. I told them my size and that my foot was a 4 EEEE wide with fat wide toe.They said they had my size but they didn't know about the width of my foot. They asked me to trace my foot and mailed it in to them so I did. Bedrock call me back and told me the measurement I told them and the paper that I trace my foot on are two different size. I told bedrock the paper that I trace my foot on is what they could go by. They then asked me is my foot this wide? I said yes I have very very fat wide toes. Bedrock said my foot measure out 6 1/2 inches wide from my big toe to my little toe.That with a size 15 6 EEEEEE. Somehow my width was off. My foot doctor told me it was a 4 EEEE when I went to go find out why I have very wide feet. I got the sandals and boy do I love them. The size of the sandals fit perfect I still have a little problem with the width both of my little toes hang off the footbed of the sandals but do not touch the ground when I walk. My toes are equally straight across which makes my foot very very wide but I think if my toes were at a 45 degree angle like everybody else's toes instead of being equally straight across my toes will fit a lot better on the sandals. But it also don't help to have fat wide toes either. I love these sandals because it is so much easier to put on my foot then the flip flops. With the flip flops I have to turn my foot to the side and then turn and push my foot into the flip flops to get my foot through the flip flops straps just so my toes will not get hung up in the flip flop straps. With the bedrocks I don't have to do that. I just wish the footbed material was a lot stronger. Within a month's time I had a very nice fat wide footprint on the footbed of the sandal. You can definitely tell where my toes are sitting at but it is so comfortable to wear. I love the fact that I have a sandal that I can put on anytime and not have to go to the store Barefooted 👣so much. My foot gets me embarrassed too much just alone wearing flip-flops. I have had people talk about my foot in the store , I have had people stare at my feet when are standing in line , I have had people turn their heads twice to look at my feet , I even had a guy in Walmart who notice and ask me how big , fat , and wide my toes were and then five minutes later when he saw me in the clothes section I saw him in the area kneel down under the clothes rack and her a camera go off. I turned around and asked him why did he take a picture of my feet he said he was sorry he's never seen anybody with a foot that big with very fat wide Toes that hung off the footbed of the Flip flops. I wasn't mad about the situation I was more embarrassed. There's no shoe , sock , or boot that's wide enough for my foot so I am forced to be barefooted 👣 or wearing sandals 365 days out of the Year even in 20 or 30 degree temperatures. It really really sucks having big feet with fat wide toes it is so embarrassing. I have five boys and they all have wide feet only one boy my third son his toes are equally straight across like my son but he don't have fat wide toes and he is still able to wear shoes and socks right now with a size 13 at 12 years old. Man I hope your wide feet do not give you this much problem. I hope your Bedrock sandals are still doing good. It would be nice to see a review on them right now they are still holding up. I apologize for being so long but I hope you and your family had a merry Christmas and have a happy New Years.

      Hi Jenn. These sandals aren't just a cheap flip flop made with the tears of Chinese children. They are also made in the USA by US workers. This is a quality sandal made with a Vibram sole (Vibram makes the highest quality shoe sole available....they outperform anything else in grip and durability). And, they can be repaired and resoled. I am always amazed at the mentality that some people have about sandals. They will easily pay $125 for a pair of running shoes made in China or another country....but not pay the same for a high quality sandal that they will wear just as much. Most people who buy a sandal like this wear them A LOT. I don't fault you because I was the same when I bought my first pair of USA made minimalist sandals years ago. My last pair, Luna's, I wore every day at my job for 3 years and anywhere else I wasn't required to wear a full shoe. They were def worth the money. I am a leatherworker and I frequently shop at a shoe supply house for materials. Vibram soles are not cheap...trust me...and these are produced with a custom footbed material. Quality strapping is not as cheap as you'd think either. From a business perspective I can see that materials + US labor + cost of doing business + free shipping....these are actually not badly priced.

      As long as it is zero drop? Doesn't matter about thickness of the sole?

    • @CptAngelKGaming
      @CptAngelKGaming 4 роки тому +3

      @@raymondfoo9045 You wanna minimize sole thickness to get a more stable footing since thick soles cause damaging instability and also transfer the impact further up to your knees/hips etc.. that are not designed to take it. Your calves should be doing all the shock absorption.

    • @raymondfoo9045
      @raymondfoo9045 4 роки тому

      @@CptAngelKGaming But even with thicker sole of these sandals, they are actually thin enough for the purpose. Am I right? I am using the Cairn Pro 2 and I love it. The thickness is just enough, sole is flexible, I feel stable in it.

    • @CptAngelKGaming
      @CptAngelKGaming 4 роки тому

      @@raymondfoo9045 Well people normally walk and run in marshmallow shoes so there is still a difference either way. There is no specific sole height to go for. As little as possible is the general rule. If you go on trails a lot you'll appreciate a bit more protection from stones etc. anyway.

    • @raymondfoo9045
      @raymondfoo9045 4 роки тому

      @@CptAngelKGaming The point is not really the thickness. Well, it does have effect on how you feel. But it is the stiffness of the sole, marshamallow/soft midsole will cause instability. Otherwise, a firm sole is stable.

    Look more trendy than useful. Maybe for around town but definitely not for trail usage. Far too flimsy- especially for the price.
