During and after this performance, a lot of bashers attacked them without even thinking that their vocals are not the problem but the technical side of the event. This is why Cashual Chuck created the video "SB19 Being Professional On Stage" to show them that the boys are not new to different unfortunate situations but still rise up and deal with them head-on. They are not those artists who will stop the performance and wait for everything to be fixed or leave the show. They were so excited to meet the UAE A'TIN and share them their craft live. They always care about the fans who waited for them.
This is the 1st time i've watched their Dubai concert. I've avoided watching it bec i'm sure it's gonna be painful to watch. And i was right. But it proved a couple of things for me.. any other artist will stop til the problem is solved or just walk out and play the diva card. But not SB 19. They continued and did their best under those awful conditions. 2nd.. they never badmouthed the organizers or even talked about what happened to the media. Talk about class, right? These boys, seriously... what more can a fangirl ask? 😊❤
I agree. And i saw a vlog by their stylist then , Mark Ranque, that they had to shop for their dubai performance a few hours before their flight coz they were invited last minute. Then they had to go straight to the venue with no time to do soundcheck. Having good ethics amidst those technical problems and all those bashing, the boys were blessed a million times over after this. ❤❤❤❤❤
Omg. I could never forget this day. We were all literally crying out of frustration and venting on Twitter every minute. We felt so bad for the boys. They couldn’t hear themselves and the haters used this to bash the boys even more. This was a nightmare for us but so proud of SB19. It didn’t discourage them to keep moving. They got better and better and learned a lot from this mishap. After this, I haven’t seen them use another head mic again.
I felt so bad after watching this-I avoided watching fan cam coverage this whole time because I saw snippets and a read a lot of the comments about it, a third of which were quite negative-so much so that I looked for their next Dubai performance and as expected, they redeemed themselves beautifully. ❤
Ang sakit panoorin that time. saka nung time na to di pa masyadong magaling si Josh dahil na rin siguro di nila marinig sarili nila kaya na ooff tune. Ang daming pumasok na bashers and I know this experience made them stronger and wiser.
They really should invest on their own personal microphones...to prevent these kind of situations. I hope they are able to afford it now in 2023 2024. ♥️
This is the only time I watched this again, the first was when I watched it in livestream, I just can’t bear it. I can only imagine how the boys, especially Pablo, felt.😔
This happened when SB19 was becoming popular and A'TIN Dubai requested them to be included. Last minute the boys hurriedly flew there but almost broke A'TIN ' s heart for technical difficulty the boys suffered. A'TIN loved SB19 endlessly and unconditionally more for being very professional.

Seeing this. I suddenly have this urge of booking a flight to Dubai for their upcoming concert to support them.
On another note, there were 2 other performers before them. Chad Kinis (a comedian) and Zephanie (the young lady from Disney+ PH's A Night of Wonder with Stell and Janella) and their mics worked perfectly well. In the vlog, the context of Stell's JAWORSKI joke, they were teasing him that his jersey was fake because the name under the jersey number was wrong (not really familiar with NBA jersey numbers) but Stell mentioned #7 is JAWORSKI who was a legend in Philippine basketball in the 70s-90s. The venue was said to house 6k audience and they sold out that concert within 4 minutes and to think that's their first face to face concert since pandemic and first ever international show.

For the boys, I watched this in full and cried, my heart broke. Seeing Pablo and Ken’s frustration 😢😢😢Josh, Justin and Stell handling this as well as they could. I love them 😍
didn't know this happened in dubai concert, the way i see it, it's actually impressive. the gentlemen continued with the show no matter what, and equally impressed with the fans and audiences, they stayed to support the group...like the saying 'the show must go on' and they did.
23:32 i always tear up when I hear you still standing up for them, especially here when you know how they struggled with their mics. This is why I really wanted to hear your thoughts, knowing how you wanted a huge & prestigious stages for them. Imagine this happens once every 10 years, that’s why the boys went despite a very short notice, despite the technical difficulties. Lessons learned the hard way. So after this, they made sure to have long sound checks and only use hand-held microphones.
I remember watching this during the livestream not understanding anything as I was crying my eyes out. I've never felt so helpless in my life that I wish they just stop the show altogether. This was so heartbreaking. The mic not working is forgivable, but the IN-EAR MONITOR NOT WORKING for a vocal group is just a damn shame. That's the answer you are looking for Hurraira. A lot of people wished they could have passed the working mics around. But the songs they performed are different from LOVE GOES. How do you pass mics with ballads where they do harmonies and they sing on top of the other and they are somehow far apart, and how do you pass the mics around with Mana & What, and Go Up which are too fast paced and they move around so much. Definitely easier said than done. Some even bashed Stell for not passing his mic around, but praising Josh(and even Justin) who did the same thing. The technical difficulties were so bad that Ken and Pablo weren't able to hide their frustrations. There were moments where Stell was passing his mic to Pablo so he could speak but I guess he was so pissed that he declined. Can't blame him. You're right about them having the right balance and there were cooler heads in Stell, Josh, and Justin to do the chatters. I guess that's the price you pay for doing a show within the 12-hour notice and you have to fly from Manila to Dubai. Good thing Stell's voice is so stable although he had to do falsettos/head voice at some of his supposed belting part for safety coz he can't hear himself. That show was a nightmare!

It's so frustrating to learn this is happening 😢i feel sorry for the boys but professionalism is in their heart and mind. Im sooo proud of you my boys. You deserved the best appreciation. I love you all SB19❤️❤️❤️
Im crying for their performance because i feel their frustration of their microphones. But im proud of them as well coz they show the audiences of how great they are despite of technical difficulties 🔥
A learning experience for all concerned. So thankful that A’TIN was so forgiving, and the FIVE continued to be their innately gracious selves.
Even in every technical issues Stell & Pablo’s vocals were stable & steady!

This event I will never forget. We prepared for this. We did not sleep until the performance. We watched every fancam there is coz its their first concert outside the country so we are all very excited. During the performance, all A'tin watching online are furious and crying at the same time. We bombarded the live chat. Even Dubai A'tin were pressured because we kept updating and asking them to talk to the event organizers that the in ears and mic are not working. Ken almost slip because of his mic. You are right, they are out of tune because they could not hear the music and could not hear each other. Although the fans who watched live said that there is no problem on their side. But still, kudos for our Mahalima coz they delivered....101%

Ppop Con 2022 was after this event. So imagine our worries and concern when there seems to some sort of technical difficulties during their stage during PPopCon 2022. Everyone was holding their breath. Praying that we won't have another Dubai Expo incident. I remember praying, "please please let this be a part of their stage not some technical difficulties."' T_T
Wow! No wonder a lot of fancam footage had that reaction. I mean, it was scary but given what happened in Dubai, I can imagine the trauma.
This episode of them was the best and the worst day of SB19 and A'tin. It was the best because this was their first ever international event and yet so worst that there was technical difficulties and the Live Stream was really bad. But despite of it all, everyone learned a lot. Seeing how best they are now in or out of stage, you can clearly see how theyve learned and evolved from this experience.
Here also shows how important Josh is in this group, yes, Pablo is a great leader, yet he still needs someone much sturdier to lean on if he's suddenly losing the control, hence Josh as the "kuya" (older brother) of the group. See the display of this groups dynamics, teamwork and professionalism is sometimes i cannot comprehend at all...because im seeing these great qualities from these young artists, which i found so super rare nowadays.
Anyway, speaking of live audience POV, there's a vlog you can watch from Loly, she's an Irish reactor who had watched this event. She talked about the said show. You can watch it on your own private time.
Now i can watch this with less pinch in my heart. ☺️
This is the first time I've actually watched their full performance here. I've been avoiding watching this because just of the snippets I've seen was enough to annoy me. While I was watching this, I can't help but feel like I wanna burst into tears, not because of happiness but because of sadness and frustration 😢❤ sending more of my love to them

I watched this the first time way back, and this broke my heart!! This was so frustrating for the boys and for the audience! I respect them for being so humble and professional!! I'm so glad Stell's vocals is so stable and reliable! I know he was singing not just for the audience but for his brothers as well, ...assuring them that they got this...!! Being that said, I'm glad they went back to Dubai and redeemed themselves!!! It’s my first time seeing this event of SB19. I didn’t know it existed. Obviously, there was technical issues. However, it was frustrating to watch. I started to know SB19 during their first USA tour. I’ve been watching them since then. I’m a San Francisco A’tin. This past Dubai performance was not known to me. If so, my love for them would never change.💕
While this event may seem unfortunate for SB19 and us, A'TIN, apparently there was a VIP watching in the audience who took notice of the boys and was impressed by how professional and amazing they were as performers and how much the audience loved them. That despite the obvious technical difficulties, they handled the performances well, they engaged with the crowd, and the crowd just loved them. This performance was the starting point of what was to come: their WYAT World Tour. In a livestream of SB19's then-stylist, Ranque shared that he and Igarta (SB19's MUA) were talking on the plane back to Manila about their plans/strategies, should the boys go on a world tour.
Omg! It was my choice not to watch this before, and for good reason. Only thing I can say is it was not SB19's fault, AT ALL! And it's really a loss without Pablo and Ken's voice. It's not a full SB19 song without any one of them, definitely. They should have been given a phone right when it became obvious that their head mics weren't working. The upcoming Dubai concert should be a blast for everyone, to make up for this. Oh my, this tested my patience to the hilt. But my love for these guys grew even stronger. They push through despite the odds, ALWAYS!
Stell empathically asking A'Tin whether they were single has some history. At an interview back in 2020, Stell said he was single, and he and A'Tin twitter had a sort of lovers' quarrel. "single, stell? What do you make of us then, A'Tin?" Like we're your girlfriend, how dare u consider yourself single kind of argument. (We're weird that way, yes.) Stell had to make up by publishing a sweet tiktok later that evening. 😂
I have read some comments of the audience they said they dont mind the technical errors bcoz they can see that the boyz are giving their all and being professional. They are just so happy to see them
This was a last minute invitation and trip. If you watch their stylist at that time, Mark Ranque's vlog about this trip, they had to rush buy the boys' outfit in Dubai when they got there. Those who were at the venue said the boys sounded fine just the volume was not consistent but those of us who watched online were so frustrated. The boys couldn't hear each other well so Josh and Justin were off key at times, etc.

Not the performance A'tin and the boys wanted, but I think this shows their character as men and performers. They fought through a losing battle with the technical difficulties, but I really applaud them for keeping their composure. The technical difficulties was only brought up once in the beginning and never mentioned again, and they still gave it their all. Despite seeing their obvious frustrations, they still interacted with the crowd, danced their hearts out and STILL tried to sing with those awful headsets and mics. I think this may not have showcased the best of their vocal abilities, BUT it showcased their character as men.
aww I watched it with you and all the frustrations came back but seeing as to where they are now, I'm extremely proud of them. Thank you for reacting to my favorite boys, SB19! That was a frustrating experience indeed, but that didn't faze them at all! Well, they'll have a chance to redeem themselves this November 24. The boys will be travelling to Singapore, Thailand, and Dubai.
I remember this trip was a spur of the moment for them and the other artists. They were informed around 5 hours before their flight and had very little time to pack.

Some A'tin discuss about what happened on twtr space. The people who attended at Dubai Expo says it doesn't sound that bad, that's why they were puzzled why it caused so much commotion. The Live Streaming is what sounds really awful.
In a good light, after this, SB19 gained so much more respect because they handled it, as always, so professional and so humble. They don't throw a fit about what happened, instead they were so greatful that they were invited to perform there...

At 1:05:11 you're right when you mentioned about the balance in their personalities. Pablo is the rightful leader but his mood sometimes really gets him, and he admits that. So the calm, cool and collected Josh steps in whenever that happens. Stell has always have the positive view on everything and his infinite battery on his body (never seen him lost of energy). And my kentin... oh I'm sorry what was I about to say? 😅 Ken the silent one ever, but a baby whenever he's around people he's comfortable with. Jah the shy and good boy who loves his older bros.
Yep. Even when rehearsing, there's already some tech difficulties. Someone commented that Dubai Expo was really not an ideal event to perform because everything is in a hurry. Imagine receiving the invite same day of their flight and then there's not enough time to really do soundcheck. Then they will fly back home the day after. They shouldn't have accepted that but then again, this is their 1st international live performance so they really can't say No. Of course, there's a lesson to be learned here. All in all, the boys did their best and very professionally handled the situation. My heart goes out for them.
May be they don't expect that difficulty because Dubai has a lot of money so they grabbed the opportunity.

Just recently watching some reactions and their concert videos they been through so much challenges in concert most of are technical difficulties. I feel so bad but they are amazing group. Keep it up Pablo , Stell, Ken, Josh and Justin.

I seemed like Josh single handedly carried them thru "What?". Even Stell was working his voice hard.
Ken was struggling with his lapel that he removed it. Ken was like, " If I can't sing, I'll dance!".
They were really having a hard time hearing each other and the backing tracks in Tilaluha. Even Pablo went out of tune. I can't bear it!
Watching this WHAT performance in Dubai concert made my blood boil. What's the use of sound check but still have these technical issues later on? They should throw these crappy defective mics! WHAT is such a powerful song and Ken's part is so powerful. I love how Ken detached his mic and gently laid it on the floor. If it happened to some entitled superstars, they've tossed and crashed it on the ground out of frustration LOL. Two POWER VOCALS KEN AND PABLO didn't have working mics?! 🙄😤😤😡😡🤬🤬 Dubai, you're not ready for big stars! Shame on Dubai! Respect to Ken, respect to SB19!
I hear Stell took over Ken's part. I think the live stream has technical issue too. You can't hear the backtrack. The main problem is the headpiece. It's coming in and out. The handheld mics are working but the sound quality is bad. This expo only happens once every 10 yrs. It's sad that they have to go through this, but it's a lesson learned not to agree to a sudden invite. They sold out the venue in 4mins after they announced thst sb19 will perform.

This kinda reminds me of when Ken's mic wasn't working at the start of MANA at their Chicago concert and he looked a bit scary and Pablo a bit worried. It looks like Pablo and Ken are always scary when technical difficulties arise. But thank God it was resolved quickly.

The admin of the dubai expo live stream actually turned off the comments section around 2nd or 3rd song because a lot... as in a lot of people are complaining on the chat that the microphones are not working and yet they didn't do anything to remedy the situation... their old manager should've done something to help them that time.. maybe stop the show until the issues gets resolved? idk.. for sure their new manager/new team won't let this happen if ever 😢

There was one interview when Ken said what made this harder was because they dont have in-ears and so they cant hear themselves then the audience are also screaming. They are not even sure if it’s their turn to sing, how much more in harmonizing! 😭

For the times when Ken’s mic is working, you can really see his frustration, like he is shouting.
1:09:09 when they went down the stage, the security got stressed because yes, they were not prepared for that at all. This was definitely not planned. It’s like they were saying, you can’t stop us from getting close and bonding with A’Tin.
One of the performances that we all want to bury from our memory 😢 but as always, they did what they came there to do. This is probably one of the moments that Josh mentioned in his Dougbrock interview. This has to change. No last minute events just like this I. Dubai Expo, the PBB with Bini collab and the Fusion. All unprepared staff to handle live singing of these boys. Josh said they will adapt but they actually don't like last minute stuff like these because they take pride of what they do. They don't want to look like a laughing stock. 😒

Then even in “Mana”, where the music is also crucial because of the dance steps, aside from the defective mics, the music was a little soft/low too. Haay. This performance was really cringy! Like, i just wanted each song to finish. 😭😭😭
Those lights should have been on them not the floor or other direction. This was so horrible for the boys. Can’t imagine how Pablo felt, for him to go off tune is unacceptable for him. Poor guys and love them for their Professionalism. I applaud you guys👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 Those lights were crazy!
The frustration was, in an event like this as big as this they would have microphone difficulties and sound problem. First 2 songs could be forgivable but for the whole lot? This should have not reflected on the boys alone to be onstage with with all the technical issues any bigger artist would have walked out. Organizers should have come out and apologized for the tech. Issues especially to the paying patrons. They were just getting there and must have held in their frustrations but Ken I guess can not, he should let them know. 😊
I hope 1Z Entertainment would invest on their personal mics so they will always have secured units and their performance will not be comprised. But im sure that experience taught them a hard lesson.

This is painful to hear and watch. But the boys are so resilient and they push through. This performance, in any shape or form, does not showcase SB19's talent and capabilities.
Even the lighting was poor. I hope on their next visit to the place, they should look for another venue

My gosh..my first time to watch this Dubai expo...terrible sound system ! Even stell who doesn't miss a tune sounded like he missed one ..wc tells like the.microphones are not just low volume...but there is something connected to it that may have control over the microphone and makes the voice out of tune..like in a karaoke machine ..there is something that can be clicked and changes the key of the voice...wow...this was a mess😢
They should've just atlast provide them all with hand mic. Can't believe they didn't thought of that. Even their background music is whispering. It's totally horrible but they handled it well.
They keep saying it's their last song coz it's indeed supposed to be their last song already the first time they mentioned it, but due to the technical difficulties, they feel like they were not able to show their all and give the audience the show that they deserve... @14:27, pau signaled to josh and stell he wants to add one more song since they're already there, they better just perform everything.. josh asked " are you serious?"... probably Pablo thinks the production f*cked us up tonight, so we'll rebel by performing more songs unplanned😂 just kidding.... 😁 the last song should've been SLMT but they added bazinga and Ikako.
@14:33 stell asked the audience if they still want more and jokingly said it looks like the audience are already tired and pablo said "us too, we're also tired" then laughed... but i know that's true.. they're too exhausted already.
I somehow wish they say something about it, like apologize after each song because the mics does not improve and not just go on and pretend that as if there's nothing wrong and their performance was okay. I think apologizing after each song could comfort the fans and make the first time listeners understand that this is just an unfortunate event that they have to go through and finish. Im sure they didn't want to stop the show because they don't want to act like a diva, but I think its ok to raise one eyebrow at least in this situation 😆 cause there should be extra mics in a big event like this but heck, no replacement was given until the end of the show... that just sucks big time. Plus the tragedy of the in-ear monitors. Dang! Costs SB19 so much.

Who ever this production manager should have given a major decision to stop it until it’s fixed. Maybe 1 or 2 hour!!
So what happen there is basically as per expert, the frequency of the system is different from what SB19 have, monitor is almost off thats why they can't hear themselves thus they intent to shout
