- Hi guys! In this Samba Lesson video, you will learn the most popular Samba moves - Promenade to Counter Promenade Runs, Natural Pivots, Shadow Reverse Rolls. In old ISTD books, the R Shadow Roll Same-Foot had the regular timing SQQSQQ SQQSQQ, but is it possible to change timings to, say, 1a2, 2a2, 1a2, 2a2 (quarter beat timing)?
Hi Charles, thank you for your comment and question. Yes, correct, you can syncopate the timing using quarter beat timing. Please reduce the size of your steps and the amplitude of the shapes to make sure you stay within the music. Enjoy your practice!
